< 2 Petera 1 >
1 I Simeona Petera, fetrek’oro naho Firàhe’ Iesoà Norizañey, Ho amo fa nandrambe fatokisañe mirai-hasiñe ami’ty anay, añamy havantañan’ Añahare naho i Mpandrombak’ antikañeio—Iesoà Norizañey:
Simeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who obtained an equally precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
2 Hasoa naho fañanintsiñe hiregorego ama’ areo handrendrehañe an’Andrianañahare naho Iesoà Talèntikañey.
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the acknowledgment of God and of Jesus our Lord!
3 Oniñe te i haozaran’ Añaharey ty nanolotse antikañe ze hene paiaeñe ami’ty haveloñe toy naho ami’ty fiambenañe Hake am-paharendrehañe to ie nikanjy antika ho ami’ty enge’e naho ty hasoa’ey.
As His divine power has given to us all things pertaining to life and piety, through the acknowledgment of Him who called us through glory and virtue,
4 Ie ro nanolora’e an-tika o fampitamañe jabajaba naho sarotseo, soa t’ie ama’e ro hitraok’ ami’ty vintan’ Añahare naho fa nibolitits’ amo drao-lo’ ty voatse toio.
through which the most great and precious promises have been given to us, that through these you may become partakers of a divine nature, having escaped from the corruption [and] lust in the world.
5 Ie amy zay, milozoha hatovon-kavañonañe ami’ty fatokisa’areo naho hilala amy havañonañey,
And [for] this same [reason] also, having brought in all diligence, supplement your faith with virtue, and with virtue—knowledge,
6 naho filieram-batañe amy hilalay naho fahaliñisañe amy filieram-batañey naho fiasian-Kake amy fahaliñisañey
and with knowledge—self-control, and with self-control—endurance, and with endurance—piety,
7 naho firañetañe amy fiasiañey vaho fikokoañe amy firañetañey.
and with piety—brotherly kindness, and with brotherly kindness—love;
8 Aa ie ama’ areo vaho miraorao, ro isebaña’e tsy halejolejo tsy ho po-bokatse ami’ty faharendrehañe i Talèntika Iesoà Norizañey.
for these things being in you and abounding, make [you] neither inert nor unfruitful in regard to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ,
9 F’ie tsy ama’e, le rìpeke, toe fey, amy te nandikofa’e ty nañeferañe aze amo hakeo taoloo.
for he with whom these things are not present is blind, dim-sighted, having become forgetful of the cleansing of his old sins;
10 Ie amy zao ry longo, imaneo an-joton-tro ty hañatò i fikanjiañe naho fijoboñañe anahareoy, amy t’ie mitoloñe am’ irezay, le lia’e tsy hitsikapy,
therefore, rather, brothers, be diligent to make steadfast your calling and [divine] selection, for doing these things you may never stumble;
11 vaho hatobake ama’areo ty fizilihañe am-Pifehea-tsy modo’ i Talè naho Mpañàha an-tika, Iesoà Norizañey. (aiōnios )
in this way the entrance into the continuous kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplemented to you. (aiōnios )
12 Aa le tsy hapoko t’ie ho tiahieñe am’irezay ndra te fa fohi’ areo vaho ijohaña’ areo ami’ty hatò ze ama’ areo henaneo.
Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you about these things, although you have known [them] and have been established in the present truth,
13 Eka ataoko mañeva ty hañetseketseke ty fitiahia’ areo, izaho mbe an-kiboho’ ty tsandriñe atoañe,
and I think right, so long as I am in this tent, to stir you up in reminding [you],
14 fa apotako te hadoko aniany ty kibohotse toy, amy nampalangesa’ i Talèntika Iesoà Norizañey amakoy.
having known that the laying aside of my tent is soon, even as our Lord Jesus Christ also showed to me.
15 Aa le imaneako te izaho fa nonjoneñe añe, ty hahatiahia’areo nainai’e irezay.
And I will also be diligent [to ensure] that you always have a remembrance to make of these things after my departure.
16 Tsy nañorike talily finoromporom-pañahy te nampandrendreha’ay ama’areo ty haozarañe naho fitotsaha’ i Talèntika Iesoà Norizañey, f’ie valolombeloñe nahaisake i enge’ey,
For having not followed out skillfully devised fables, we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but having become eyewitnesses of His majesty—
17 ie nandrambe hasiñe naho engeñe aman’ Añahare Rae, naho niheo ama’e i fiarañanañañe boak’ amy Engem-bolonahetseiy, nanao ty hoe: Intoy ty Anak’ isoko, O toe norokoo.
for having received honor and glory from God the Father, such a voice being borne to Him by the Excellent Glory: “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I delighted”;
18 Tsinano’ay i fiarañanañañe boak’ andindìñe ey, t’ie nindre ama’e amy vohitse miavakey.
and we heard this voice borne out of Heaven, being with Him at the holy mountain.
19 Toe aman-tika o tsaram-pitoky niventeñeo, le mahasoa anahareo ty hitsendreñe, hoe t’ie jiro mireandreañe am-pimoromoroñañe ao, ampara’ te manjirike i àndroy vaho mionjoñe i misaron-kazavañey.
And we have a more firm prophetic word, to which we do well giving heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until day may dawn, and [the] morning star may arise in your hearts;
20 Le maharendreha hey añ’arofo ao te tsy amy sokitse masiñey ty fitokiañe niboak’ ami’ty fisafiria’ ondaty.
knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Writing comes of private exposition,
21 Amy te mbe lia’e tsy nanoeñe ami’ty zoton-tro’ ondaty ty fitokiañe, fe ondaty nentoe’ i Arofo-Masiñeio t’i ninday taroñe boak’ aman’ Añahare.
for prophecy never came by [the] will of man, but men spoke from God, being brought by the Holy Spirit.
