2 Korintiana 10
1 Izaho Paoly ty midrakadrakake ama’ areo amy tretran’ arofo naho fiferenaiñañe amy Norizañey—zaho atao mimalimalitse te mifañatreke, f’ie mahasibeke te añe!—
Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence [am] base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:
2 Mihalaly te tsy hazi’ areo hiatreatre t’ie ao, ie mahasibeke fiatreke o ila’e manao anay ho mpañavelo ami’ty haondaty hambo’eo.
But I beseech [you], that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
3 Fa ndra t’ie mañavelo amy hambo’ey, tsy i hambo’ey ty fialia’ay.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 Toe tsy boak’ amy hambo’ey o fialia’eo fe an-kaozaran’ Añahare maharotsake kijoly fatratse;
(For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; )
5 afetsa’ay ambane o fitsakoreañeo naho ze hene raha mionjoñe hiatreatre ty fahafohinañe an’ Andrianañahare vaho rohize’ay ze fonga vetsevetse hivohora’e amy Norizañey,
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 ie heneke ty fivohora’ areo, le veka’e zahay handilo ze atao fanjeharañe.
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
7 Isaho o atrefe’areo henaneo? Naho eo ty matoky te a i Norizañey, ee t’ie hitsibo-batañe, he manahake ty maha amy Norizañey aze ty maha amy Norizañey anay.
Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he [is] Christ’s, even so [are] we Christ’s.
8 Aa ndra t’ie mitolom-pirenge amy nampifeleha’ i Talè anay hampiraorao anahareoy, fa tsy handrotsake, le tsy isalarako.
For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:
9 Tsy teako hatao fañembañañe anahareo o taratasikoo.
That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.
10 Peha’e naho maozatse o taratasi’eo, hoe ty ila’e, f’ie mavo-vintañe te miatreke naho sirikaeñe o filañonaña’eo.
For [his] letters, say they, [are] weighty and powerful; but [his] bodily presence [is] weak, and [his] speech contemptible.
11 Soa re te hitsakore te hambañe ami’ty enta’ay an-taratasy ty fitoloña’ay te miatreke.
Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such [will we be] also in deed when we are present.
12 Tsy mahavany hitrao-lohàñe ndra hifañòhatse amo ila’e mirengeo zahay. Ie po-hilala kanao mifanjehe vatañe naho mifañòhatse avao.
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
13 Le tsy ho senge’ay ze alafe’ o nafaritsoke ho anaio, fa amy nanendrean’ Añahare anaiy, ze mahatakatse pak’ ama’ areo ka.
But we will not boast of things without [our] measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.
14 Tsy ho losore’ay fisengeañe hoe t’ie tsy nitakare’ay, amy te toe nahitri’ay pak’ama’ areo añe i talili-soa’ i Norizañey;
For we stretch not ourselves beyond [our measure], as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in [preaching] the gospel of Christ:
15 tsy ho sengè’ay ka o alafem-balavala’aio, ami’ty fitoloña’ o ila’eo. Fe itamà’ay, ami’ty fitomboa’ ty fatokisa’ areo, te hielatse ty valavala’ay, hionjoñe ho amy ze lefe,
Not boasting of things without [our] measure, [that is], of other men’s labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,
16 hitaroña’ay i talili-soay ankàlo’ areo ao, fa tsy t’ie hirenge ami’ty fitoloñañe nihenefa’ ty ila’e.
To preach the gospel in the [regions] beyond you, [and] not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand.
17 Le, Ze hirenge, ee te amy Talè ty hirengea’e.
But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
18 Toe tsy i mirengey ty no’e, fa ze rengè’ i Talè.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
