< 2 Tantara 14 >
1 Aa le nitrao-piròtse aman-droae’e t’i Abiià naho nalenteke an-drova’ i Davide ao, le nandimbe aze nifehe t’i Asa ana’e; nanintsiñe folo taoñe tañ’andro’e i taney.
So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.
2 Nanao ze soa naho vantañe am-pihaino’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’e t’i Asa;
And Asa did [that which was] good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:
3 amy te finao’e ze kitrely tsie naho o toets’ aboo naho nakoroma’e o vatolahio vaho finira’e o Asereo;
For he took away the altars of the strange [gods], and the high places, and broke down the images, and cut down the groves:
4 naho linili’e te hipay Iehovà Andrianañaharen-droae’ iareo t’Iehoda, hañorike Hake naho o fepètseo.
And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.
5 Nafaha’e amo hene rova’ Iehodao o tambohoo naho o sare’ i àndroio; vaho nianjiñe añ’atrefa’e eo i taney.
Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.
6 Aa le namboare’e rova fatratse e Iehoda ao; amy te nanintsiñe i taney vaho tsy teo ty nialiañe amy taoñe rezay, ie nampitofà’ Iehovà.
And he built fortified cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest.
7 Aa hoe ty natao’e am’Iehoda: Antao hamboatse o rova retoa, le harikatohen-tika kijoly naho fitalakesañ’ abo naho lalambey vaho sikadañe; añatrefan-tika eo i taney amy te nitsoehentika t’Iehovà Andrianañaharen-tika naho nipaian-tika vaho nampitofae’e o mañohok’ antika iabio. Aa le namboatse iereo vaho niraorao.
Therefore he said to Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about [them] walls, and towers, gates, and bars, [while] the land [is] yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought [him], and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built, and prospered.
8 Le nanam-pirimboñan-dahindefoñe t’i Asa: mpitam-pikalañe naho lefoñe telo-hetse ty boak’ Iehodà ao; naho hirike Beniamine ao ty mpitam-pikalañe vaho mpitintim-pale, roe-hetse-tsi-valo-ale; songa maozatse naho nahasibeke.
And Asa had an army [of men] that bore targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bore shields and drew bows, two hundred and eighty thousand: all these [were] mighty men of valor.
9 Teo te niavotse haname iareo t’i Zerake nte-Kose ninday valobohòke arivon’ arivo naho sarete telon-jato; le nivotrake e Maresà eo.
And there came out against them Zerah the Cushite, with a host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came to Mareshah.
10 Niavotse mb’eo t’i Asa hifanalaka ama’e, le nalahatse am-bavatane’ i Zefate e Maresà eo i hotakotakey.
Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathath at Mareshah.
And Asa cried to the LORD his God, and said, LORD, [it is] nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou [art] our God; let not man prevail against thee.
12 Aa le zinama’ Iehovà añatrefa’ i Asa naho aolo’ Iehoda eo o nte-Koseo vaho nitriban-day o nte-Koseo.
So the LORD smote the Cushites before Asa, and before Judah; and the Cushites fled.
13 Aa le nihoridañe’ i Asa naho ondaty ama’eo pake Gerare; le akore ty hamaro’ o nte-Kose nibanibanìtseo kanao leo raike tsy nahatam-beloñe, ie niparatsàke añatrefa’ Iehovà naho aolo’ i valobohò’ey; vaho nendese’ iereo ty fikopaham-bey.
And Asa and the people that [were] with him pursued them to Gerar: and the Cushites were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.
14 Linafa’ iereo o tanañe mañohoke i Gerare iabio; fa nampianifa’ Iehovà; naho fonga kinopa’ iareo o rovao vaho tsifotofoto ty vara tam’ iereo ao.
And they smote all the cities about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they plundered all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.
15 Linafa’ iareo ka o kibohom-pitan-kareo, le tinava’ iareo ty añondry naho rameva maro vaho nimpoly mb’e Ierosalaime añe.
They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.
