< 2 Tantara 13 >
1 Ie amy taom-paha-folo-valo’ ambi’ Iarovamey le niorotse nifehe Iehodà t’i Abiià.
In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah reigns over Judah;
2 Telo taoñe ty nifehea’e e Ierosalaime ao; i Mikaià ana’ i Oriele nte-Gibà ty tahinan-drene’e. Nifañotakotake t’i Abiià naho Iarovame.
he has reigned three years in Jerusalem (and the name of his mother [is] Michaiah daughter of Uriel, from Gibeah), and there has been war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
3 Nifanontoñe hialy t’i Abiià reketse mpirimbon-dahindefoñe mahimbañe, ondaty jinoboñe efats-etse; naho nilahatse hifañatreatre ama’e t’Iarovame rekets’ ondaty jinoboñe valo-hetse, ondaty maozatse nahasibeke.
And Abijah directs the war with a force of mighty men of war, four hundred thousand chosen men, and Jeroboam has set in array [for] battle with him, with eight hundred thousand chosen men, mighty men of valor.
4 Nijohañe an-kaboa’ i Tsemaraime t’i Abiià am-bohibohi’ i Efraime eo, nanao ty hoe: Janjiño iraho ry Iarovame naho Israele iabio;
And Abijah rises up on the hill of Zemaraim that [is] in the hill-country of Ephraim, and says, “Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel!
5 tsy ho napota’ areo hao te natolo’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ Israele amy Davide ho nainai’e donia ty fifeheañe Israele, ama’e naho amo ana-dahi’eo am-pañinan-tsira?
Is it not for you to know that YHWH, God of Israel, has given the kingdom over Israel to David for all time, to him and to his sons—a covenant of salt?
6 Fe nitroatse t’Iarovame ana’ i Nebate, mpitoro’ i Selomò ana’ i Davide vaho niola amy Talè’ey.
And Jeroboam, son of Nebat, servant of Solomon son of David, rises up and rebels against his lord!
7 Niropak’ ama’e ondaty tsy manjofakeo, ana’ i Beliale, naozatse te amy Rekoboame ana’ i Selomò, ie mbe nitora’e naho tso-po t’i Rekoboame vaho tsy nahafiatreatre.
And vain men are gathered to him, sons of worthlessness, and they strengthen themselves against Rehoboam son of Solomon, and Rehoboam was a youth, and tender of heart, and has not strengthened himself against them.
8 Aa he mitsakore ty hoe nahareo t’ie hahafitroatse amy fifehea’ Iehovà am-pità’ o ana’ i Davideoy; ie valobohòke vasiañeñe vaho ama’ areo o bania volamena niranjie’ Iarovame ho ‘ndrahare’ areoo.
And now you are saying to strengthen yourselves before the kingdom of YHWH in the hand of the sons of David, and you [are] a numerous multitude, and calves of gold [are] with you that Jeroboam has made for you for gods.
9 Tsy fa rinoa’ areo hao o mpisoro’ Iehovào, o ana’ i Aharoneo, o nte-Levio vaho nañoriza’ areo mpisoroñe an-tsata’ ondaty an-tane ila’e añe? Aa ndra ia’ia miheo mb’eo hañori-vatañe reketse bania naho añondrilahy fito, le minjare mpisoron ‘drahare tsie.
Have you not cast out the priests of YHWH, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and make priests for yourselves like the peoples of the lands? Everyone who has come to fill his hand with a bullock, a son of the herd, and seven rams, even he has been a priest for [those which are] not gods!
10 Fa naho zahay, Iehovà ro Andrianañahare’ay, le tsy naforintse’ay vaho amam-pisoroñe mitoroñe Iehovà, toe mitoloñ’ amo fitoloña’ iareoo o ana’ i Aharoneo naho o nte-Levio,
As for us, YHWH [is] our God, and we have not forsaken Him, and priests are ministering to YHWH, sons of Aaron and the Levites, in the work,
11 ie misoroñe am’ Iehovà boa-maraindray naho hariva, soroñe naho emboke mañitse; naho mampidadañe i mofo miatrekey amy latabatse hiringiri’ey; naho mamelome o jiro am-pitàn-jiro volamenao boa-kariva, amy te tana’ay ty namantoha’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ay; fe nifarie’ areo.
and are making incense to YHWH, burnt-offerings morning by morning, and evening by evening, and incense of spices, and the arrangement of bread [is] on the pure table, and the lampstand of gold, and its lamps, to burn evening by evening, for we are keeping the charge of our God YHWH, and you have forsaken Him.
12 Aa le oniño te mindre ama’ay ho mpiaolo anay t’i Andrianañahare naho mitan-trompetra fañatahatañe o mpisoro’eo, hivolan-kekoheko ama’ areo. O ry ana’ Israeleo, ko mialy am’ Iehovà Andrianañaharen-droae’ areo fa tsy hiraorao.
And behold, with us—at [our] head—[is] God, and His priests and trumpets of shouting to shout against you; O sons of Israel, do not fight with YHWH, God of your fathers, for you do not prosper.”
13 Fe nampamandroñe’ Iarovame ty hiboak’ am-boho ao; aa le eo o aolo’ Iehodào vaho amboho ao o mpamandroñeo.
And Jeroboam has brought around the ambush to come in from behind them, and they are before Judah, and the ambush [is] behind them.
14 Aa ie nitolik-amboho t’Iehodà, hehe te aolo naho amboho i hotakotakey; aa le nitoreo am’ Iehovà iereo vaho nitiofe’ o mpisoroñeo o trompetrao.
And Judah turns, and behold, the battle [is] against them, before and behind, and they cry to YHWH, and the priests are blowing with trumpets,
15 Nampipoña-pazak’ amy zao o nte-Iehodao; aa ie nipazapazake o nte-Iehodao, le nifetsake te linihin’ Añahare t’Iarovame naho Israele iaby añatrefa’ i Abiià naho Iehoda eo,
and the men of Judah shout; and it comes to pass, at the shouting of the men of Judah, that God has struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
16 naho nitriban-day añatrefa’ Iehodà eo o ana’ Israeleo vaho tinolon’ Añahare am-pità’ iareo.
And the sons of Israel flee from the face of Judah, and God gives them into their hand,
17 Zinama’ i Abiià naho ondati’eo am-pizamanañe ra’elahy, kanao lime-hetse am’ondaty jinoboñeo ty nitsingoron-ko vetrake.
and Abijah and his people strike among them a great striking, and five hundred thousand chosen men of Israel fall wounded.
18 Aa le nampiambanèñe o ana’ Israeleo henane zay vaho nandreketse o ana’ Iehodao ami’ty niatoa’ iareo am’ Iehovà, Andrianañaharen-droae’ iareo.
And the sons of Israel are humbled at that time, and the sons of Judah are strong, for they have leaned on YHWH, God of their fathers.
19 Nihoridañe’ i Abiià t’Iarovame, le nandrambesa’e rova: i Betele rekets’ o tanà’eo naho Iesanà rekets’ o tanà’eo vaho i Efrone rekets’ o tanà’eo.
And Abijah pursues after Jeroboam and captures cities from him: Beth-El and its small towns, and Jeshanah and its small towns, and Ephraim and its small towns.
20 Tsy nahafitroatse ka t’Iarovame tañ’ andro’ i Abiià; le zinevo’ Iehovà re vaho nihomake.
And Jeroboam has not retained power anymore in the days of Abijah, and YHWH strikes him, and he dies.
21 Fe nihamaozatse t’i Abiià, le nañenga valy folo efats’ amby vaho nisamak’ ana-dahy roapolo-ro’ amby naho anak’ampela folo-eneñ’amby.
And Abijah strengthens himself, and takes fourteen wives for himself, and begets twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters;
22 Le o fitoloña’ i Abiìao naho o sata’eo naho o lañona’eo, tsy fa sinokitse amy fibejaña’ Idò mpitokiy hao?
and the rest of the matters of Abijah, and his ways, and his words, are written in the commentary of the prophet Iddo.
