1 Ie nioreñe ty fifehea’ i Rekoboame naho naozatse, le naforintse’e ty Tsara’ Iehovà, ie naho Israele iaby.
And when Rehoboam had established the kingdome and made it strong, hee forsooke the Lawe of the Lord, and all Israel with him.
2 Aa ie tan-taom-pahalime’ i Rekoboame, amy te fonga nandilatse am’ Iehovà t’Israele, le naname Ierosalaime t’i Sisake mpanjaka’ i Mitsraime,
Therefore in the fift yeere of King Rehoboam, Shishak the King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem (because they had transgressed against the Lord)
3 reketse sarete arivo-tsi-roanjato naho mpiningi-tsoavala eneñ’ ale; naho ondaty tsifotofoto nente’e boake Mitsraimeo: o nte-Libiao, o nte-Sokio vaho o nte-Koseo.
With twelue hundreth charets, and three score thousande horsemen, and the people were without nomber, that came with him from Egypt, euen the Lubims, Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.
4 Le rinambe’e o rova aman-kijoly Iehodao vaho nitakare’e t’Ierosalaime.
And he tooke the strong cities which were of Iudah, and came vnto Ierusalem.
5 Aa le nimb’ amy Rekoboame naho amo roandria’ Iehoda nifanontoñe e Ierosalaimeo t’i Semaià mpitoky, ty amy Sisake, le nanoe’e ty hoe: Hoe t’Iehovà: Tsinambolitio’ areo iraho, toly ndra napoko am-pità’ i Sisake.
Then came Shemaiah the Prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Iudah, that were gathered together in Hierusalem, because of Shishak, and sayde vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord, Ye haue forsaken me, therefore haue I also left you in the handes of Shishak.
6 Aa le nirè-batañe o roandria’ Israeleo naho i mpanjakay vaho nanao ty hoe: Vantañe t’Iehovà.
Then the princes of Israel, and the King humbled themselues, and sayde, The Lord is iust.
7 Ie nivazoho’ Iehovà t’ie nirè-batañe, le niheo amy Semaià ty tsara’ Iehovà nanao ty hoe: Kanao nire-batañe le tsy harotsako; fa hitolorako rombake vaho tsy am-pità’ i Sisake ty hampidoañako am’Ierosalaime ty habosehako.
And when the Lord sawe that they humbled themselues, the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They haue humbled theselues, therefore I will not destroy them, but I will sende them deliuerance shortly, and my wrath shall not bee powred out vpon Ierusalem by the hand of Shishak.
8 F’ie h’ondevo’e, hianatse ty fitoroñañe amako ami’ty fitoroñañe o fifehea’ ty tane toio.
Neuerthelesse they shalbe his sernants: so shall they knowe my seruice, and the seruice of the kingdomes of the earth.
9 Aa le naname Ierosalaime t’i Sisake mpanjaka’ i Mitsraime nitavañe ze vara añ’ anjomba’ Iehovà ao naho ze vara’ añ’ anjomba’ i mpanjakay; fonga nendese’e; tinava’e ka o fikalan-defoñe volamena rinanji’ i Selomòo.
Then Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem, and tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house he tooke euen all, and hee caried away the shields of golde, which Salomon had made.
10 Le nandranjy fikalandefo torisike hasolo irezay t’i Rekoboame ie nampamandroñe’e o mpifehe-pigaritse mpañambeñe ty lalambei’ i mpanjakaio.
In stead whereof King Rehoboam made shieldes of brasse, and committed them to the handes of the chiefe of the garde, that wayted at the doore of the Kings house.
11 Ie amy zao, ndra mbia’ mbia nimoak’ añ’ anjomba’ Iehovà ao i mpanjakay le rinambe’ o mpigaritseo irezay, naombe hey vaho nampoly an-trañom-piambeñe ao.
And when the King entred into the house of the Lord, the garde came and bare them and brought them againe vnto the garde chamber.
12 Aa kanao nirè-batan-dre, le nihànkañ’ ama’e ty haviñera’ Iehovà, tsy rinotsa’e ho mongotse; nanintsiñe t’Iehodà henane zay.
And because hee humbled himselfe, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that hee woulde not destroy all together. And also in Iudah the things prospered.
13 Le nihaozatse e Ierosalaime ao t’i Rekoboame naho nifehe; toe ni-efapolo-raik’amby taoñe ty Rekoboame te niorotse nifehe vaho nifehe folo-tao-fito’ amby e Ierosalaime ao, i rova jinobo’ Iehovà amo hene fifokoa’ Israeleo hampipoha’e i tahina’eiy; i Naamà nte-Amone ty tahinan-drene’e.
So King Rehoboam was strong in Ierusalem and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yeres in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his Name there. And his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonitesse.
14 Nanao haratian-dre, amy te tsy nihajarie’e añ’ arofo’e ao ty fipaiñe Iehovà.
And he did euill: for hee prepared not his heart to seeke the Lord.
15 Aa naho o fitoloña’ i Rekoboameo, ty valoha’e pak’am-para’e, tsy fa sinokitse amo talili’ i Semaià mpitoky naho Idò mpitokio hao ty amo fiantoñoñeo? Nifañotakotake nainai’e t’i Rekoboame naho Iarovame.
The actes also of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the booke of Shemaiah the Prophet, and Iddo the Seer, in rehearsing the genealogie? and there was warre alway betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam.
16 Aa le nitrao-piròtse aman-droae’e t’i Rekoboame naho nalentek’ an-drova’ i Davide ao; vaho nandimbe aze nifehe t’i Abiià ana’e.
And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the citie of Dauid, and Abiiah his sonne reigned in his stead.
