< 2 Tantara 11 >

1 Ie tafam-poly e Ierosalaime ao t’i Rekoboame le natonto’e ty anjomba’ Iehoda naho i Beniamine, ondaty jinoboñe rai-hetse-tsi-valo-ale, lahindefoñe, hialy am’ Israele, hampimpolia’e amy Rekoboame i fifeheañey.
And when Rehoboam had entered Jerusalem, he called together the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men, warriors, —to fight against Israel, to bring back the kingdom to Rehoboam.
2 Fe niheo amy Semaià ondatin’ Añahare ty tsara’ Iehovà nanao ty hoe:
Then came the word of Yahweh, unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying:
3 Saontsio amy Rekoboame ana’ i Selomò mpanjaka’ Iehoda naho amy Israele e Iehoda naho e Beniamine ao iaby ty hoe:
Speak unto Rehoboam son of Solomon, king of Judah, —and unto all Israel in Judah and in Benjamin, saying:
4 Hoe t’Iehovà: Ko mionjomb’eo, ko mialy aman-droahalahi’ areo; fonga mimpolia mb’an-kiboho’e mb’eo, fa amako o raha zao. Aa le hinao’ iareo o tsara’ Iehovào vaho nimpoly tsy nionjoñe hiatreatre am’ Iarovame.
Thus, saith Yahweh, Ye shall not go up neither shall ye fight against your brethren, return every man to his own house, for, from me, hath this thing been brought about. So they hearkened unto the words of Yahweh, and turned back from going against Jeroboam.
5 Nimoneñe e Ierosalaime ao t’i Rekoboame vaho namboatse rovam-piarovañe e Iehoda ao.
And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, —and built cities for defence, in Judah;
6 Namboare’e ty Betlekheme naho i Etame naho i Tekoà
yea he built Bethlehem and Etam, and Tekoa;
7 naho i Bete-tsore naho i Sokò naho i Adolame
and Beth-zur and Soco, and Adullam;
8 naho i Gate naho i Maresà naho i Zife
and Gath and Mareshah, and Ziph;
9 naho i Adorame naho i Lakise naho i Azekà
and Adoraim and Lachish, and Azekah;
10 naho i Tsorà naho i Aiialone vaho i Kebrone; ie rova aman-kijoly e Iehodà naho e Beniamine ao.
and Zorah, and Aijalon and Hebron, which are in Judah and Benjamin, —as fortified cities.
11 Le nihafatrare’e o rova aman-kijolio naho najo’e am’ iereo ao ty mpifeleke naho nañajà’e mahakama naho menake vaho divay.
And he strengthened the fortified places, —and put therein captains, and stores of food, and oil and wine;
12 Le nasia’e fikalan-defo naho lefoñe o rova iabio vaho vata’e nihafatrare’e. Iehoda naho i Beniamine avao ty nimpirekets’ ama’e.
and, in every several city, shields and spears, and made them exceedingly strong, —thus Judah and Benjamin remained his.
13 Nirekets’ ama’e o mpisoroñe naho nte-Levy e Israele iaby hirik’ am-paripari’e iabio.
And, the priests and Levites that were in all Israel, took their stand with him, out of all their boundaries.
14 Nado’ o nte-Levio o tanem-piandraza’ iareoo naho o hanaña’ iareoo vaho nivotrake e Iehodà naho e Ierosalaime ao, amy te nifarie’ Iarovame naho o ana-dahi’eo, ie tsy nampitoloñe’e o fisoroñañe am’ Iehovào,
For the Levites left their pasture lands, and their possessions, and came to Judah, and to Jerusalem, —for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, from ministering as priests unto Yahweh;
15 te mone noriza’e ho am-bata’e ty mpisoroñe amo toets’ aboo naho amo kokolampao vaho amo bania niranjie’eo.
and appointed for himself priests for the high places, and for the demons—and for the calves which he had made.
16 Fe nanonjohy iareo ze hene boak’ am-pifokoa’ Israele nifahatse añ’arofo hipay Iehovà Andrianañahare’ Israele, nimb’e Ierosalaime mb’eo hañenga soroñe am’ Iehovà Andrianañaharen-droae’ iareo.
And, after them—out of all the tribes of Israel, such as were setting their heart to seek Yahweh God of Israel, came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto Yahweh, God of their fathers.
17 Aa le nihafatrare’ iereo ty fifehea’ Iehoda vaho nandrondroñe i Rekoboame ana’ i Selomò, telo taoñe, ie nañavelo an-dala’ i Davide naho i Selomò telo taoñe.
So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and emboldened Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, —for they walked in the way of David and Solomon, for three years.
18 Nañenga valy t’i Rekoboame: i Makalate anak’ ampela’ Ierimote ana’ i Davide naho a i Abihaile anak’ ampela’ i Eliabe ana’ Iiseiy;
And Rehoboam took him to wife, Mahalath, daughter of Jerimoth, son of David, —and Abihail, daughter of Eliab, son of Jesse;
19 le nisamake ana-dahy: Ieose naho i Semarià vaho i Zahame.
and she bare him sons, —Jeush and Shamariah and Zaham.
20 Añe izay, le nañenga i Maakà ana’ i Abisalome, ze nisamake i Abiià naho i Ataý naho i Ziza vaho i Selomite.
And, after her, he took Maacah, daughter of Absolom, —and she bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
21 Nikokoa’ i Rekoboame mandikoatse ze hene vali’e naho sakeza’e t’i Maakà ana’ i Abisalome; toe folo-valo’ amby ty valy nengae’e naho enempolo ty sakeza’e le nisamak’ anadahy roapolo-valo’ amby naho anak’ ampela enempolo.
And Rehoboam loved Maacah daughter of Absolom, above all his wives and his concubines, for, eighteen wives, took he, and sixty concubines, —and begat twenty-eight sons, and sixty daughters.
22 Tinendre’ i Rekoboame ho talè t’i Abiià ana’ i Maakà, ho mpifeleke o rahalahi’eo, hihentseña’e ho mpanjaka.
So then Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as head, to be chief ruler among his brethren, —yea that he might make him king.
23 Le an-kihitse ty nampipoha’e amy ze faripari’ Iehoda naho i Beniamine iaby o ana-dahi’eo, amy ze rova fatratse iaby; le tinolo’e mahakama nahaeneñe vaho nipaia’e valy maro.
So he took heed, and dispersed all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, unto all the fortified cities, and gave them food in abundance, —and asked a multitude of wives.
