1 Soa re te songa hanao ty tompo’e ho mañeva asiñe o ambanen-jokam-pañondevozañeo, soa tsy injeñe ty tahinan’ Añahare naho o fañòhañeo.
Let as many seruaunts as are vnder the yoke, count their masters worthie of all honour, that the Name of God, and his doctrine be not euill spoken of.
2 Le o aman-tompo mpiatoo, ehe tsy haketra’e ty asiñe ama’e katao mpilongo, fe antsake te itoroñañe soa, amy te mpiato kokoañe o mpitraoke amy vokatseio. Ianaro naho osiho.
And they which haue beleeuing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren, but rather doe seruice, because they are faithfull, and beloued, and partakers of the benefite. These things teach and exhort.
3 Aa naho eo ty mañoke raha hafa, tsy miantoke ty venten-tsaontsy nitsarae’ i Talèntika Iesoà Norizañey, naho ty fañòhañe milahatse aman-Kake,
If any man teach otherwise, and consenteth not to the wholesome wordes of our Lord Iesus Christ, and to the doctrine, which is according to godlinesse,
4 ie mpibohaboha naho bahimo, mitolom-pañontane raha mampitrabike, mpifandietse saontsy, le mivariñ’ am-piriàñe, naho ali-troke naho teratera vaho kilily,
He is puft vp and knoweth nothing, but doteth about questions and strife of words, whereof commeth enuie, strife, railings, euill surmisings,
5 ie mifamotepotetse tsy vente’e am’ondaty aman-kilala vìlañeo, o kòake tsy aman-katòo, vaho atao’e te fanontonam-bara ty fañambenan-Kake.
Frowarde disputations of men of corrupt mindes and destitute of ye trueth, which thinke that gaine is godlines: from such separate thy selfe.
6 Toe mampiraorao ty fañorihañe Hake an-kaehake.
But godlinesse is great gaine, if a man be content with that he hath.
7 Amy te tsy eo ty nindesen-tikañe ami’ty voatse toy, vaho tsy eo ty hindesen-tika hiakatse ama’e.
For we brought nothing into the world, and it is certaine, that we can carie nothing out.
8 Ie aman-ko kamaeñe naho saroñe tika, le tsy iereñañe.
Therefore when wee haue foode and raiment, let vs therewith be content.
9 Fe mijoñe am-panjiziañe naho am-pandrike naho am-pipaian-katsivokarañe naho amo raha mavoiñe mampijoro t’indaty an-karotsahañe naho an-koromahañe ao ze misalala ho mpañaleale.
For they that will be rich, fall into tentation and snares, and into many foolish and noysome lustes, which drowne men in perdition and destruction.
10 Toe vaha’ ze atao haratiañe i hatea varay, le fa nisitak’ amy fatokisañey ty ila’ o mañiriñe azeo, ie mampitsipo-batañe an-kaoreañe maro.
For the desire of money is the roote of all euill, which while some lusted after, they erred from the faith, and pearced themselues through with many sorowes.
11 Aa ihe, zatovon’ Añahare, ibotitsiho le heaño ty havantañañe, ty fañorihañe Hake, ty figahiñañe, ty fikokoañe, ty fifeahañe vaho ty hamoràn-troke.
But thou, O man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousnesse, godlines, faith, loue, patience, and meekenes.
12 Mifanehafa amy aly soa’ i fatokisañeiy, tambozoro i haveloñe nainai’e nikanjiañe azoy, i nitaroñe’o soa añatrefam-balolombeloñe màroy. (aiōnios )
Fight the good fight of faith: lay holde of eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (aiōnios )
13 Le afantoko ama’o am-pivazohoan’ Añahare mpameloñe ze he’e naho Iesoà Norizañe nitaroñe o talili-soa aolo’ i Pontio Pilatoo,
I charge thee in the sight of God, who quickeneth all thinges, and before Iesus Christ, which vnder Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession,
14 ty hambena’o tsy aman-kandra ndra fitsikoañe i nafantokey, ampara’ ty fitotsaha’ i Talèntika Iesoà Norizañey,
That thou keepe this commandement without spot, and vnrebukeable, vntill the appearing of our Lord Iesus Christ,
15 fa an-tsa do’e ty hampibentara’ i Tsitongerè tokañe andriañeñey, Mpanjaka’ o mpanjakao, Talèn-talè,
Which in due time hee shall shewe, that is blessed and Prince onely, the King of Kings and Lord of Lordes,
16 Ie avao ro tsy aman-kamodoañe, mimoneñe an-kazavàñe tsy lefe harineañe, mboe tsy niisa’ ondaty naho tsy mete isaheñe; ama’e ty asiñe naho ty haozarañe nainai’e. Amena. (aiōnios )
Who onely hath immortalitie, and dwelleth in the light that none can attaine vnto, whom neuer man sawe, neither can see, vnto whome bee honour and power euerlasting, Amen. (aiōnios )
17 Lilio o mpañaleale ami’ty haveloñe toio ty tsy hiebotsebotse, tsy hiato vara tsy azo antoke, fa aman’ Añahare veloñe mpandogologo amantika ze hene mahaehake antikañe. (aiōn )
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, and that they trust not in vncertaine riches, but in the liuing God, (which giueth vs aboundantly, all things to enioy) (aiōn )
18 Le ty hanao soa, t’ie ho mpañaleale am-pitoloñan-tsoa, matarike, naho veka’e hanolotse,
That they doe good, and be riche in good woorkes, and readie to distribute, and comunicate,
19 mamandroñe manantañe soa mihaja ho amy añey, hamejañe i toe haveloñey.
Laying vp in store for themselues a good foundation against the time to come, that they may obteine eternall life.
20 O Timoty! ambeno i nafantoke ama’oy, iholiaro ze rehake borosode naho kòake naho o fifandierañe tsy vente’e atao hilalao.
O Timotheus, keepe that which is committed vnto thee, and auoide prophane and vaine babblings, and oppositios of science falsely so called,
21 Ie niantofa’ ty ila’e le fa nandrìke amo fatokisañeo. Hasoa ama’o. Amena
Which while some professe, they haue erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee, Amen. ‘The first Epistle to Timotheus, written from Laodicea, which is the chiefest citie of Phrygia Pacaciana.’
