1 Ie niheneke ty saontsi’e amy Saole, le nifamitrañe an-tro’ i Davide ty tro’ Ionatane. Nikokoa’e manahake ty vata’e.
And it was when finished he to speak to Saul and [the] self of Jonathan it was bound with [the] self of David (and he loved him *Q(k)*) Jonathan like own self his.
2 Mifototse amy andro zay t’ie nitana’ i Saole, tsy nenga’e himpoly aman-drae’e añe.
And he took him Saul on the day that and not he permitted him to return [the] house of father his.
3 Nanao fiatehenàñe amy Davide t’Ionatane amy te nikokoa’e manahake ty vata’e.
And he made Jonathan and David a covenant in love his him like own self his.
4 Nafaha’ Ionatane ty sarimbo ama’e le natolo’e amy Davide rekets’ i saron’ ali’ey, i fibara’ey, i fàle’ey, vaho i sadia’ey.
And he stripped himself Jonathan the robe which [was] on him and he gave it to David and garments his and to sword his and to bow his and to belt his.
5 Le niavotse mb’amy ze nañiraha’ i Saole aze añe t’i Davide naho nitoloñe an-kahimbañe; le najado’ i Saole ho mpifehe o lahindefoñeo, ie niantofañe am-pahaisaha’ ze hene ondaty naho am-pahaoniña’ o mpitoro’ i Saoleo.
And he went out David in every where he sent him Saul he prospered and he appointed him Saul over [the] men of war and it was good in [the] eyes of all the people and also in [the] eyes of [the] servants of Saul.
6 Ie pok’ eo t’i Davide naho o mpiama’eo, nimpoly boak’ añ’aly amo nte-Pilistioy, le niakatse amy ze rova’ i Israele iaby o ampelao nisabo an-tsinjake, hifanalaka amy Saole Mpanjaka an-pikoriñañe naho nirebeke an-jejo-bory.
And it was when came they when returned David from striking down the Philistine and they came out the women from all [the] cities of Israel (to sing *Q(k)*) and the dancing to meet Saul the king with tambourines with joy and with three-stringed instruments.
7 Nisabo ty hoe an-kafaleañe o rakembao: Fa nanjamañe ty arivo’e t’i Saole vaho ty aleale’e t’i Davide.
And they sang the women who were playing and they said he has struck down Saul (thousands his *Q(K)*) and David ten thousands his.
8 Nitorifike amy zao t’i Saole fa natao’e t’ie fampifotsahañ’ aze. Amoliliañe añ’ aleale’e t’i Davide fe añ’ arivo’e avao ty ahiko. I fifeheañey avao ty mbe tsy aze.
And it burned to Saul exceedingly and it was displeasing in view his the matter this and he said they have ascribed to David ten thousands and to me they have ascribed the thousands and yet for him only the kingship.
9 Ie henane zay nikirofe’ i Saole t’i Davide.
And he was Saul (looking at *Q(K)*) David from the day that and onwards.
10 Aa ie amy loak’ àndroy, nangare’ ty fañahi’ raty boak’ aman’ Añahare an-kafatrara’e t’i Saole, le nitazataza am-po’ i anjombay ao, naho nititike am-pitàñe t’i Davide ami’ty lili’e lomoñandro, ie am-pità’ i Saole ty lefo’e.
And it was from [the] next day and it rushed a spirit of God - evil - to Saul and he prophesied in [the] midst of the house and David [was] playing an instrument with hand his as a day - in a day and the spear [was] in [the] hand of Saul.
11 Hiniriri’ i Saole i lefoñey, ie nitsakore ty hoe: Ho tomboheko an-drindriñe eo t’i Davide. Indroe niholiatse aze t’i Davide.
And he threw Saul the spear and he said I will strike David and the wall and he went around David from before him two times.
12 Nampihembañe i Saole t’i Davide, amy te nindre ama’e t’Iehovà, ie fa nienga i Saole.
And he was afraid Saul from to before David for he was Yahweh with him and from with Saul he had turned aside.
13 Aa le nasita’ i Saole ama’e, vaho nanoe’e mpifehe-arivo; niavotse naho nizilik’ añatrefa’ ondatio.
And he removed him Saul from with him and he appointed him for himself a commander of a thousand and he went out and he came before the people.
14 Nilefe iaby ze raha nanoe’ i Davide; fa tama’e t’Iehovà.
And he was David to all (ways his *Q(K)*) successful and Yahweh [was] with him.
15 Ie nioni’ i Saole t’ie nitoloñ’ an-kihitse, le nihembaña’e.
And he saw Saul that he [was] successful exceedingly and he was afraid of him.
16 Fe nikokoa’ Israele naho Iehodà iaby t’i Davide, amy t’ie niavotse naho nizilik’ añatrefa’ iareo.
And all Israel and Judah [were] loving David for he [was] going out and [was] coming before them.
17 Le hoe t’i Saole amy Davide: Ingo, hatoloko azo t’i Merabe zoken’ anak’ ampelako; fe mahimbàña ho ahy, vaho ialio o ali’ Iehovào; ami’ty natao’ i Saole ty hoe: Tsy ty tañako ty hiatrek’ aze, fa hiatrefa’ ty fità’ o nte-Pilistio.
And he said Saul to David here! daughter my elder Merab her I will give to you to a wife only become of me a son of strength and fight [the] battles of Yahweh and Saul he said may not it be hand my on him and let it be on him [the] hand of [the] Philistines.
18 Le hoe t’i Davide amy Saole, Ia v’irahoo, ino ty fiaiko naho ty fiain-dongon-draeko e Israele ao t’ie ho vinanto’ ty mpanjaka?
And he said David to Saul who? [am] I and who? [are] kinsfolk my [the] clan of father my in Israel that I will be a son-in-law of the king.
19 Aa ie ho natolotse amy Davide t’i Merabe anak’ ampela’ i Saole te mone natolo’e amy Adriele nte Meholatite ho tañanjomba’e.
And it was at [the] time gave Merab [the] daughter of Saul to David and she she was given to Adriel the Meholathite to a wife.
20 Fe nikokoa’ i Mikale anak’ ampela’ i Saole t’i Davide; natalily amy Saole Izay le ninò’e.
And she loved Michal [the] daughter of Saul David and people told to Saul and it was pleasing the matter in view his.
21 Aa hoe t’i Saole, Hatoloko aze re ho fandrik’ ama’e, hatreatré’e o nte-Pilistio. Aa le hoe t’i Saole amy Davide. Ho vinantoko irehe amy faharoey.
And he said Saul I will give her to him so she may become for him a snare so it may be on him [the] hand of [the] Philistines and he said Saul to David in two [times] you will be a son-in-law to me this day.
22 Le nandily o mpitoro’eo t’i Saole, ty hoe: Bisibisiho amy Davide ty hoe: Inao! ifalea’ i mpanjakay vaho mikoko azo o mpitoro’e iabio, aa le miantofa t’ie ho vinanto’e.
And he commanded Saul (servants his *Q(K)*) speak to David in secrecy saying here! he delights in you the king and all servants his they love you and therefore be son-in-law to the king.
23 Aa le sinaontsi’ o mpitoro’ i Saoleo an-dravembia’ i Davide i entañe zay. Aa hoe t’i Davide, Atao’ areo ho raha maivañe hao t’ie ho vinantom-panjaka, izaho ondaty rarake naho mavomavo.
And they spoke [the] servants of Saul in [the] ears of David the words these and he said David ¿ trifling in view your [is] to be son-in-law to the king and I [am] a man poor and lightly esteemed.
24 Natalili’ o mpitoro’ i Saoleo ama’e izay ami’ty hoe: Inao ty entañe sinaontsi’ i Davide.
And they told [the] servants of Saul to him saying according to the words these he spoke David.
25 Le hoe t’i Saole: Zao ty ho saontsie’ areo amy Davide: Tsy mipay lafitihy i mpanjakay, fa ofoke zato boak’ amo nte-Pilistio, ho fañavahañe o rafelahi’ i mpanjakaio. Amy te kinilili’ i Saole ty hampihotrake i Davide am-pitàn-te-Pilisty.
And he said Saul thus you will say to David not delight [belongs] to the king in bride-price for for a hundred foreskins of Philistines to avenge himself on [the] enemies of the king and Saul he planned to make fall David by [the] hand of [the] Philistines.
26 Aa ie nisaontsie’ o mpitoro’eo amy Davide i entañe zay, le ninò’ i Davide ty ho vinanto’ i mpanjakay, aolo’ ty fepèn’ andro;
And they told servants his to David the words these and it was pleasing the matter in [the] eyes of David to be son-in-law to the king and not they were completed the days.
27 aa le niavotse mb’eo t’i Davide, ie naho o mpiama’eo, naho zinama’ iareo t’i nte-Pilisty roan-jato, vaho nendese’ i Davide o ofo’eo, le natolo’e amy mpanjakay ami’ty ia’e do’e, soa t’ie ho vinanto’ i mpanjakay. Le natolo’ i Saole aze t’i Mikale anak’ ampela’e ho vali’e.
And he arose David and he went - he and men his and he struck down among the Philistines two hundred man and he brought David foreskins their and people gave in full them to the king to be son-in-law to the king and he gave to him Saul Michal daughter his to a wife.
28 Napota’ i Saole te amy Davide t’Iehovà mbore nikoko aze t’i Mikale anak’ ampela’e;
And he saw Saul and he knew that Yahweh [was] with David and Michal [the] daughter of Saul she loved him.
29 aa antsake te nihembañe amy Davide t’i Saole, vaho nitolon-ko rafelahi’ i Davide t’i Saole.
And he increased Saul to be afraid of David again and he was Saul an enemy David all the days.
30 Mpiavotse mb’eo o talèm-Pilistio; fe, ndra mbia mbia niakatse, le niraorao ambone’ o mpitoro’ i Saole iabio t’i Davide vaho nonjoneñe añ’abo i tahina’ey.
And they went out [the] commanders of [the] Philistines and it was - as often as went out they he was successful David more than all [the] servants of Saul and it was esteemed name his exceedingly.
