< 1 Petera 1 >
1 I Petera, Firàhe’ Iesoà Norizañey, Ho amo mañialo naparaitake e Ponto, e Galate, e Kapadokia, e Asia vaho e Bitinia añeo, jinoboñe
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the foreigners of the dispersion, the chosen ones, throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.
2 ami’ty fisafirin’ Añahare Rae, navahe’ i Arofoy, ty amy nivohora’ areo am’ Iesoà Norizañey naho fa nifitsezan-dio’e: añonjoñan-kasoa naho hanintsiñe.
This is according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace be to you, and may your peace increase.
3 Andriañeñe t’i Andrianañahare, Rae’ i Talèntika Iesoà Norizañey! Ie am-piferenaiñañe jabajaba, ro nampiareñe antika fañindroe’e ho am-pitamàñe veloñe amy fitroara’ Iesoà Norizañey an-kavilasiy,
May the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be praised! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
4 ho amy lova tsy modo, tsy ho komatrào, tsy hipoa-mavo, nihalankañeñe andikerañe aoy ho anahareo
This is for an inheritance that will not perish, will not become stained, and will not fade away. It is reserved in heaven for you.
5 arovañe ami’ty haozaran’ Añahare ami’ty fatokisañe ho amy rombake haboak’ an-tsa honka’ey.
You are protected by God's power through faith, for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last times.
6 Aa le irebeho, ndra t’ie loviloviem-pitsohañe ankafankafa hey amy ipaiañe azey,
You are very glad about this, even though it is now necessary for you to feel sadness in many different troubles.
7 hamente ty fatokisa’ areo sarotse te ami’ty volamena mete momoke, naho nitsoheñe añ’ afo handrendrehañe t’ie mandrenge naho misabo vaho miàsy ami’ty fiboahañe Iesoà Norizañey.
This is for the proving of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tested by fire. This happens so that your faith will be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revealing of Jesus Christ.
8 Ikokoa’ areo ndra te mbe tsy niisake mbore tsy isake heike, f’ie atokisa’o naho irebeha’o an-kaehake tsy lefe talilieñe vaho lifots’ engeñe,
You have not seen him, but you love him. You do not see him now, but you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.
9 t’ie mandrambe ty firefeam-patokisa’ areo, ty fandrombaham-piaiñe.
You are now receiving for yourselves the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
10 I fatokisañey, le nitsoeha’ o mpitokio, nitsikaraha’ o nitoky i hasoa nivotrak’ ama’ areoio,
The prophets searched and inquired carefully about this salvation, about the grace that would be yours.
11 le nimanea’ iareo pay te ia naho an-tsa inoñe ty nentoe’ i Arofo’ i Norizañeiy ty an-tro’ iareo ao, ie nitaroñe ty falovilovia’ i Norizañey naho i engeñe hanonjohiy.
They searched to know about whom and when the Spirit of Christ in them was speaking to them. This was happening as he was telling them in advance about the sufferings of Christ and the glorious things after that.
12 Naboak’ am’ iareo te tsy iereo fa itika ty nitoroña’ iareo o raha nitsarae’ o nitaroñe i talili-soay ama’ areo henaneo amy Arofo Masiñe niraheñe boak’ an-dindiñe añeio—raha salalae’ o anjelio hotsohotsoeñe.
It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told to you by those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look.
13 Aa le diaño ty toham-betsevetse’ areo hifanehake, le ilozoho filieram-batañe, vaho ifaharo fitamañe ty hasoa hatolotse anahareo ami’ty fiboahañe Iesoà Norizañey,
So gird up the loins of your mind. Be sober. Put your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
14 hoe amory mete avohotse, tsy mitsikombe o hadrao raty nañaveloa’ areo am-paha-bahimoañeo.
As obedient children, do not conform yourselves to the desires that you followed when you were ignorant.
15 Aa kanao masiñe i Nikanjy anahareoy le miavaha ka amo fañaveloañe iabio;
But as the one who called you is holy, you, too, be holy in your whole behavior.
16 fa hoe ty pinatetse: Miavaha amy te masin-dRaho.
For it is written, “Be holy, because I am holy.”
17 Aa naho kanjie’ areo t’i Rae, ie tsy mirihy fe izaka’e songa amy fitoloña’ey, le mañaveloa am-pañeveñañe ami’ty fañialoa’ areo atoy,
So if you call “Father” the one who judges impartially and according to each person's work, go through the time of your journey in reverence.
18 fohiñe te tsy o raha mora momokeo manahake o volafotio ndra o volamenao ty nijebañe anahareo amy haveloñe kòake linova’ areo aman-droae’ areoy,
You know that it was not with perishable silver or gold that you have been redeemed from the foolish behavior that you learned from your fathers.
19 fa ty lio sarots’ i anak’ añondriy, i Norizañey, tsy aman-kandra tsy aman-kìla,
Instead, you have been redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, who was like a lamb without blemish or spot.
20 ie norizañe taolo’ ty nampijadoñañe ty voatse toiy, fe naboake ama’ areo an-tsan-konka’e zao.
Christ was chosen before the foundation of the world, but now he has been revealed to you in these last times.
21 Ie ty iatoa’ areo aman’ Añahare nampivañon-ko veloñe aze naho toe nitolora’e engeñe, soa te ho aman’ Añahare ty fatokisañe naho ty fitamà’ areo.
Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope would be in God.
22 Aa kanao, nañefe-batañe amy t’ie nivohotse ami’ty hatò amy Arofoy hikoko longo tsy mihaboke, le imaneo koko an-troke hiringiri’e,
You made your souls pure by obedience to the truth. This was for the purpose of sincere brotherly love; so love one another earnestly from the heart.
23 amy t’ie nisamaheñe fañindroe’e, tsy an-tabiry mora momoke, fa amo tsy momokeo, an-tsaran’ Añahare veloñe tsy mete modo. (aiōn )
You have been born again, not from perishable seed, but from imperishable seed, through the living and remaining word of God. (aiōn )
24 fa Hoe ahetse ze kila nofotse, manahake o voñen’ ahetseo o hene enge’eo; miheatse o ahetseo, mihintsañe o voñe’eo,
For, “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the wild flower of the grass. The grass dries up, and the flower falls off,
25 fe tsy mb’ia ho modo ty tsara’ Iehovà. Izay i tsara nitaroñeñe ama’areoy. (aiōn )
but the word of the Lord remains forever.” This is the good news that was announced to you. (aiōn )
