< 1 Petera 4 >

1 Aa kanao nilofek’ am-pañova’e i Norizañey, le adiaño ho fitalifirañe izay, amy te nijihetse tsy manao hakeo ka ty nijale an-tsandriñe,
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
2 soa te amo andro sisa amy nofotseio, tsy hiveloma’e ka o hasijy rati’ ondatioo, fa ty satrin’ Añahare.
That he no longer should live the rest of [his] time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
3 Amy te nahatsàke anahareo o andro nitoloñañe amy ze fisatria’ o kilakila’ ndatio—nifanao haloloañe, hakarapiloañe, hamamoañe, fihisàn-draty, figologodrañan-divay, vaho fitalahoam-pahasive tiva.
For the time past of [our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
4 Le hoe te ankafankafa amo mifosao t’ie tsy migodañe tsy nàhy mindre am’iereo mb’an-kaliforan-katsivokarañe ao.
In which they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you]:
5 F’ie tsy mahay tsy hamolily amy veka’e hizaka o veloñeo naho o vilasioy.
Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.
6 Izay ty talim-pitseizañe i talili-soay amo nihomakeo, hizakañe hoe ondaty amy nofotsey vaho ho veloñe añ’arofo ao ty amy natoron’ Añaharey.
For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
7 Fa an-titotse ty firefea’ ze he’e. Aa le miliera-vatañe vaho mijilova hahafilolofa’ areo.
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch to prayer.
8 Mandikoatse izay, imaneo fifampikokoañe, fa mahalembeke hakeo maro ty fikokoañe.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity will cover a multitude of sins.
9 Mifampiantrañoa tsy aman-treotreoñe.
Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
10 Aa kanao songa nandrambe falalàñe le mitoloña am-pifampitoroñañe hoe mpamandroñe mahimba’ o hasoan’ Añahare ankafankafao.
As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
11 Ndra iaia misaontsy le manahake t’ie misaontsy o fetsen’ Añahareo; ze mitoroñe, le ami’ty haozarañe atolon’ Añahare aze, soa te amy ze he’e, ho rengèñe t’i Andrianañahare añam’ Iesoà Norizañey. Aze ty engeñe naho ty fifeheañe nainai’e donia. Amena. (aiōn g165)
If any man speaketh [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man ministereth [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
12 O ry rañetse, ko ilatsa’ areo ty fitsohañe añ’afo mifetsake ama’areo, (ie famenteañe anahareo) manahake te nizò raha ankafankafa,
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you:
13 fe mirebeha t’ie mitraok’ ami’ty falovilovia’ i Norizañey, handià’ areo taroba ami’ty fiboaha’ o enge’eo.
But rejoice, seeing ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
14 Ie injèñe ty amy tahina’ i Norizañeiy, le mihahà, te ipetaha’ t’i Arofon-engen’ Añahare.
If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, happy [are ye]; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you. On their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
15 Ehe te tsy ama’ areo ty ho lovilovieñe t’ie mpamono ondaty, ndra mpikizo, ndra mpanao raty, ndra mitsoropoke am’ondaty mitoloñe.
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or [as] a thief, or [as] an evil-doer, or as a busy-body in other men's matters.
16 F’ie mpiamy Norizañey, ee te tsy ho salatse, te mone mandrenge an’ Andrianañahare ty amy tsaraeñey.
Yet if [any man suffereth] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17 Fa tsatoke te hifotots’ amy hasavereñan’ Añaharey i zakay; aa kanao mamototse aman-tikañe, akore ty hizò o manjehatse amy talili-soan’ Añahareio?
For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first [beginneth] at us, what will [be] the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 Aa katao sarotse ho rombaheñe ty vantañe, akore ty hifetsak’ ami’ty tsy aman-Kake naho amy aman-kakeoy?
And if the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Aa ze mijale amy satrin’ Añaharey, ee te hampiatoa’e aman’ Andrianamboatse migahiñey ty arofo’e, am-pitoloñan-tsoa.
Wherefore, let them that suffer according to the will of God, commit the keeping of their souls [to him] in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.
