1 Ndra ia’ia miantoke te Iesoà i Norizañey, le nampiareñen’ Añahare; mikoko i nampiareñe’ey ze mikoko i Nampiareñey.
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.
2 Zao ty aharendrehan-tika te mikoko o anan’ Añahareo tika: ie mikoko an’ Andrianañahare naho mañambeñe o lili’eo.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.
3 Inao ty fikokoañe an’ Andriañahare, t’ie mañambeñe o lili’eo, tsy mavesatse o lili’eo.
For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.
4 Mpandreketse ty voatse toy ze nampiareñen’ Añahare; zao ty fandreketañe mahagioke ty voatse toy: ty fatokisan-tikañe.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.
5 Ia ty mahareketse ty voatse toy? naho tsy i miantoke te Iesoà ro Anan’ Añaharey.
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 Intoy ty nitotsak’ atoy ami’ty rano naho lio, Iesoà Norizañey; tsy an-drano avao, fa an-drano naho sn-dio. I Arofoy ro mitaroñe, le tò i Arofoy.
This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
7 Telo ty mitaroñe:
For there are three who testify:
8 i Arofoy, naho ty rano, naho ty lio; vaho mitrao-drehake i telo rey.
the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.
9 Aa naho non-tika ty enta’ ondaty, lombolombo izay ty taron’ Añahare, fa zao ty taron’ Añahare, t’ie nitaroñe i Ana’ey.
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is God’s testimony which he has testified concerning his Son.
10 Toe añ’ova’ ty miato amy Anan’ Añaharey i taroñey, fe nanao aze ho mpandañitse ze tsi-miato amy anan’ Añaharey, ami’te tsy atokisa’e i nitaroñen’ Añahare i Ana’eiy.
He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.
11 Zao i taroñey te tinolon’ Añahare haveloñe nainai’e tika; vaho amy Ana’ey i haveloñe zay. (aiōnios g166)
The testimony is this: that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios g166)
12 Aman-kaveloñe ty manañe i Anakey; tsy aman-kaveloñe naho tsy ama’e i Anan’ Añaharey.
He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life.
13 Nanokitse izay ama’areo mpiato amy tahinan’ Anan’ Añaharey iraho, haharendreha’ areo t’ie aman-kaveloñe nainai’e. (aiōnios g166)
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. (aiōnios g166)
14 Inao ty fatokisan-tika añatrefa’e, t’ie mihalaly ndra inoñ’ inoñe an-tsatri’e le ijanjiña’e.
This is the boldness which we have towards him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
15 Aa ie fohin-tika te hene janji’e o ihalalian-tikañeo, le atokisan-tika te fa aman-tika i nihalaliañey.
And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
16 Naho eo ty mahaoniñe te nanao hakeo tsy mahakoromake i longo’ey, naho ihalalia’e, le ie ty hanoloran’ Añahare haveloñe amy aman-kakeo tsy mahahomakey. Toe ao ty tahiñe mahavetrake; tsy manao ty hoe iraho t’ie ty ihalaliañe.
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I don’t say that he should make a request concerning this.
17 Fonga hakeo ze tsy an-kahiti’e, fe eo ty tahiñe tsy mahakoromake.
All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.
18 Fohin-tikañe te tsy mandilatse ka ze nasaman’ Añahare; fa arovan’ Añahare i nasama’ey, tsy ho paohe’ i Ratiy.
We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him.
19 Fohin-tika t’ie aman’ Añahare, fe fonga fehè’ i ratiy ty voatse toy.
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
20 Fohin-tika te nivotrak’ atoy i Anan’ Añaharey, naho nampandrendrek’ antika hahafohinan-tika i Vantañey, naho t’ie amy Vantañey, toe amy Ana’e Iesoà Norizañey. Ie t’i Andrianañahare to naho haveloñe nainai’e. (aiōnios g166)
We know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
21 O keleiakoo, ifoneño ty fahasive.
Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
