1 Ry rañetse, ko fonga iantofañe ze atao fañahy, fe mitsohà arofo, ke boak’ aman’ Añahare, amy te maro ty mpitoky vìlañe miboele ami’ty voatse toy.
Dearely beloued, beleeue not euery spirit, but trie the spirits whether they are of God: for many false prophets are gone out into this worlde.
2 Inao ty aharendreha’ areo i Arofon’ Añaharey: ze troke miantoke te nito­tsak’ ami’ty nofotse t’Iesoà Norizañe ro aman’ Añahare;
Hereby shall ye know the Spirit of God, Euery spirit which confesseth that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God.
3 fe tsy aman’ Añahare ze troke tsy miantoke te niboak’ an-tsandriñe t’Iesoà, ie ro amy mesia-vìlañey, i jinanji’ areo te ho aviy, vaho fa ami’ty voatse toy henaneo.
And euery spirit that confesseth not that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God: but this is the spirit of Antichrist, of whome ye haue heard, how that he should come, and nowe already he is in this world.
4 Boak’ aman’ Añahare nahareo ry keleiako, le fa nahagioke; amy te jabajaba i ama’ areoy ta ty ami’ty voatse toy.
Litle children, ye are of God, and haue ouercome them: for greater is he that is in you, then he that is in this world.
5 Mpiami’ ty voatse toy iereo, naho manao ty reha’ ty voatse toy, vaho itsanoña’ ty voatse toy.
They are of this worlde, therefore speake they of this world, and this world heareth them.
6 Boak’ aman’ Añahare tika. Mijanjiñe antikañe ze mahafohiñe an’ Andrianañahare; tsy mijanjiñe antika ze tsy mpiaman’ Añahare. Inay ty aharendrehan-tika ty Arofon-katò naho i fañahin-dilatsey.
We are of God, he that knoweth God, heareth vs: he that is not of God, heareth vs not. Heereby knowe wee the spirit of trueth, and the spirit of errour.
7 Ry rañetse, antao hifampikoko, fa boak’ aman’ Añahare ty koko. Ndra ia ia mikoko, le nampiareñen’ Añahare vaho mahafohiñe an’ Andrianañahare.
Beloued, let vs loue one another: for loue commeth of God, and euery one that loueth, is borne of God, and knoweth God.
8 Ndra ia ia tsy mikoko, le tsy mahafohiñe an’Andria­nañahare, amy te fikokoañe t’i Andrianañahare.
Hee that loueth not, knoweth not God: for God is loue.
9 Inao ty mampidodea ty fikokoan’ Añahare aman-tika: toe nirahen’ Añahare mb’ami’ty voatse toy i bako-toka’ey hiveloman-tika.
Herein was that loue of God made manifest amongst vs, because God sent that his onely begotten sonne into this world, that we might liue through him.
10 Inao o fikokoañeo: tsy te itika ro nikoko an’Andrianañahare fa Ie hey ro nikoko an-tika vaho nañitrike i Ana’ey hañefetse o hakeon-tikañeo.
Herein is that loue, not that we loued God, but that he loued vs, and sent his Sonne to be a reconciliation for our sinnes.
11 Ry rañetseo, kanao izay ty nikokoan’ Añahare antika, ehe te hifampikoko ka.
Beloued, if God so loued vs, we ought also to loue one another.
12 Leo raike tsy nahaisak’ an’ Andrianañahare ndra mbia’ mbia, f’ie mifampikoko le mimoneñe aman-tikañ’ ao t’i Andrianañahare, naho fonireñe aman-tikañ’ i fikokoa’ey.
No man hath seene God at any time. If we loue one another, God dwelleth in vs, and his loue is perfect in vs.
13 Inao ty aharendrehan-tika te mimo­neñe ama’e, naho ie amantika, le t’ie nandiva i Arofo’ey aman-tikañe.
Hereby know we, that we dwell in him, and he in vs: because he hath giuen vs of his Spirit.
14 Fa niisa’ay naho mitaroñe te nahitrin-dRae i Ana’ey, Mpandrombake ty voatse toy.
And we haue seene, and doe testifie, that the Father sent that Sonne to be ye Sauiour of the world.
15 Ze mitaroñe Iesoà t’ie Anan’ Añahare, le mimoneñe ama’e ao t’i Andrianañahare naho aman’ Añahare ao re.
Whosoeuer confesseth that Iesus is the Sone of God, in him dwelleth God, and he in God.
16 Fa fohintika naho atokisañe ty fikokoan’ Añahare an-tika. Fikokoañe t’i Andria­nañahare, naho mimoneñe aman’ Añahare ao ze mimoneñe am-pikokoañe ao, vaho ama’e ao t’i Andria­nañahare.
And we haue knowen, and beleeued ye loue that God hath in vs. God is loue, and he that dwelleth in loue, dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Inao ty mahaañoñe o fikokoan-tikañeo, hahafirearean-tika amy andron-jakay, t’ie mihambañe ama’e an-tane atoy.
Herein is that loue perfect in vs, that we should haue boldnes in the day of iudgement: for as he is, euen so are we in this world.
18 Tsy aman-kebahebake ty hatea, le mandroake anifañe ty koko ki’e, fe mioza lovelove ty hemba; mbe tsy fonitse koko ty marimarike.
There is no feare in loue, but perfect loue casteth out feare: for feare hath painefulnesse: and he that feareth, is not perfect in loue.
19 Mikoko tika, amy te Ie hey ro nikoko an-tikañe.
We loue him, because he loued vs first.
20 Naho eo ty manao: Kokoako t’i Andrianañahare, f’ie malain-dongo, ro mpandañitse; amy te aia ty hahafikokoa’e an’Andrianañahare tsy isa’e naho tsy kokoa’e hey ty longo’e trea.
If any man say, I loue God, and hate his brother, he is a liar: for how can he that loueth not his brother whom he hath seene, loue God whom he hath not seene?
21 Inao ty nandilia’e an-tika: Tsy mete tsy mikoko longo ty mikoko an’Andrianañahare.
And this commandement haue we of him, that he that loueth God, should loue his brother also.
