< 1 Korintiana 14 >

1 Imaneo fikoko; le salalao o añ’ arofoo, àntsake ty fitokiañe.
Follow after love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
2 Amy te tsy misaontsy ama’ ondaty ty milikoliko fa aman’ Añahare, le tsy fohi’ ondaty; amy te an-tro’e ty isaon­tsia’e raha mietake.
For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God, for no one understands, but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.
3 Fe misaontsy am’ ondatio ty mpitoky, mampiraorao, mañosike vaho mampanintsiñe.
But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, exhortation, and consolation.
4 Mañasoa ty vata’e ty milikoliko, fe mañonjoñe i Fivoriy ty mpitoky.
He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly.
5 Niteako te songa nilikoliko, fe kitrako t’ie mitoky. Losore’ ty mpitoky ty mpilikoliko tsy mampibejañe hañasoa i Fivoriy.
Now I desire to have you all speak with other languages, but even more that you would prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up.
6 Ie amy zao ry longo, naho pok’ ama’ areo ao iraho milikoliko, ino ty hañasoa anahareo naho tsy itaroñako famentabentarañe, ndra hilala, ndra fitokiañe, ndra fañòhañe?
But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?
7 Fa ndra o raha tsy veloñe mañaka-peoo, he soly ke marovany, naho tsy miamba­kambake o feo’eo, aia ty haharendrehañe ty anoe’ i soliy ndra i marovaniy?
Even lifeless things that make a sound, whether pipe or harp, if they didn’t give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped?
8 Ie popoe’ i antsivay ty feo tsy fohiñe, ia ty hihen­tseñ’ aly.
For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war?
9 Inahareo ka, naho tsy ampivolañem-pameleke ty saontsy malange, aia ty aha­ren­drehañe i tsaraeñey? amy t’ie hisaontsy an-tioke.
So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air.
10 Va’e tsifotofoto ty karazan-tsaontsy ami’ty voatse toy, leo raike ty tsy aman-dika’e.
There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without meaning.
11 Fe naho nofiko ty dika’ i saontsiy le alike amako i misaontsiy, le ho alike amy misaontsy ka iraho.
If then I don’t know the meaning of the language, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me.
12 Inahareo ka, kanao sinda hanam-palalàn’ arofo, imaneo ty hampiraorao i Fivoriy.
So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly.
13 Le soa re te ihalalia’ i milikolikoy t’ie hahafandika.
Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret.
14 Amy t’ie miloloke am-pameleke hafa, miloloke ty troko, fe tsy mamokatse ty fitsakoreako.
For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 Inoñe aré? Toe hihalaly an-troko naho hihalaly am-pitsakoreañe, hisabo an-troko vaho hisabo am-betsevetse.
What should I do? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
16 Naho tsy izay, ie mitata an-trok’ao avao, aia ty hanoe’ i tsy niokey ty hoe: Ie izay! amy fañan­driaña’oy kanao nofi’e i saontsi’oy.
Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn’t know what you say?
17 Ndra te soa i fañandriaña’oy, tsy nahasoa ty ila’e.
For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up.
18 Andriañeko t’i Andrianañahare te hene ilikoarako likoliko;
I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all.
19 f’ie am-pivory ao, hamake te minday saontsy lime am-pitsakoreañe, hañòhako o ila’eo, ta te milikoliko an-tsara rai-ale.
However, in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language.
20 O ry longo, ko miha-ajaja am-betse­vetse; eka, manoa hoe ajaja-kede am-palaiñañe, fe miañoña an-kihitse.
Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.
21 Pinatetse amy Hake ao ty hoe: Am-pameleke ankafankafa naho am-pivimbin’ ambahiny ty hitaroñako am’ondaty retiañe; fe ndra te izay, mbe tsy hitsendreñ’ ahy iereo, hoe t’i Talè.
In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won’t even listen to me that way, says the Lord.”
22 Aa le nanoen-ko viloñe o likolikoo; tsy ho a o mpiatoo fa ho a o tsi-miantokeo; vaho tsy nanoeñe ho a o tsy miantokeo ty fitokiañe fa ho a o miatoo.
Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.
23 Naho tsy izay, ie songa mifanontoñe ty Fivory, naho sindre milikoliko, vaho ie mizilike ao ty tsy mahafohiñe ndra o tsi-miantokeo, tsy hanoa’e t’ie gegegege hao?
If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy?
24 Fe naho hene mitoky, le ie mizilike ao ty tsi-miantoke ndra ty bahimo, songa hampiantok’ aze, sindre hampamotopotots’ aze
But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.
25 amy te naborake o mietake an-tro’eo; le hibaboke an-dahara’e eo re hitalaho aman’ Añahare vaho hitaroñe ty hoe: Toe ama’ areo etoa t’i Andrianañahare!
And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.
26 Akore amy zao ry longo? ie mifanontoñe, songa manàña sabo naho lañonañe naho famentabentarañe, naho likoliko miharo fandikàñe, vaho hene hanoeñe ho fampiraoraòañe.
What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.
27 Naho eo ty milikoliko he roe, tsy mandikoatse telo, le ifandimbezañe, vaho tsy mete tsy am-pandika.
If any man speaks in another language, let there be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.
28 F’ie naho po-pandika, le hianjiñe te am-Pivory ao, fa añ’arofo’e naho aman’ Añahare ty hitangongoa’e.
But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.
29 Ampilañono ty mpitoky telo ndra roe, le handanjalanja o ila’eo.
Let two or three of the prophets speak, and let the others discern.
30 Ie entoeñe ka ty miambesatse, le hianjiñe ka i valoha’ey.
But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.
31 Hene mahazo mitoky am-pifandimbezeñe, soa te sindre hianatse, songa hosiheñe.
For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be exhorted.
32 Ie amy zao iambanea’ ty arofo’e ty mpitoky.
The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,
33 Amy te tsy fifandrakarakàñe t’i Andrianañaha­re fa fanintsiñañe. Hambañe amo fivori’ o noro’eo iabio,
for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.
34 le hitam-pianjiñañe am-Pivory o rakembao, tsy apoke hisaontsy fa hiambane, ty amy pinatetse amy Hake ao.
Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says,
35 Naho te hañontane iereo, le songa hañontane ty vali’e añ’anjomba’e ao; fa mahasalatse naho misaontsy am-Pivory ao ty rakemba.
if they desire to learn anything. “Let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a wife to be talking in the assembly.”
36 Hete! Niboak’ ama’ areo hao i tsaran’ Añaharey? Hera, inahareo avao ty nivotraha’e?
What!? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone?
37 Naho eo ty mieva ho mpitoky, ndra aman’ arofo, soa re te hahatsikarake te lili’ i Talè o sokirekoo.
If any man thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.
38 Aa naho eo ty tsy maharendreke, apoho re tsy hahafohine.
But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Ie amy zao ry longo milozoha fitokiañe vaho ko rarà’ areo ty milikoliko;
Therefore, brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and don’t forbid speaking with other languages.
40 fa hene anòeñe ami’ty fañeva’e naho am-pahendreañe.
Let all things be done decently and in order.
