David and the leaders of the army selected some of the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun to prophesy with harps, with stringed instruments, and with cymbals. Here is the list of the men who performed this service:
2 o ana’ i Asafeo: i Zakore naho Iosefe naho i Netanià vaho i Asarelà; songa ana’ i Asafe ambanem-pità’ i Asafe, mpitoky ambanem-pità’ i mpanjakay.
From the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied under the king's supervision.
3 Iedotone: o ana’ Iedotoneo, i Gedalià, i Tserý, Iesaià, i Kasabià naho i Matitià, eneñe, ambanem-pitàn-drae’e Iedotone, mpitoky añoza-marovany, mpañandriañe naho mpandrenge Iehovà.
From the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six in all, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who played the harp for giving thanks and praising Yahweh.
4 I Hemane, o ana’ i Hemaneo: i Bokià, i Matanià, i Oziele, i Seboele naho Ierimote, i Kananià, i Kananý, i Eliatà, i Gidaltý naho i Romamtiezere, Iosbekasà, i Malotý, i Makaziote.
From the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.
5 Songa ana’ i Hemane, mpitoki’ i mpanjakay ty amy ze mioza aman’ Añahare, hañonjonañe i tsifay. Tinolon’ Añahare ana-dahy folo-efats’ amby naho anak’ ampela telo t’i Hemane.
All these were the sons of Heman the king's prophet. God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters to lift up his horn.
6 Songa ambanem-pitàn-drae’e hisabo añ’ anjomba’ Iehovà ao reketse fikantsañañe, jejobory naho marovany, hitoroñe i anjomban’ Añaharey, ambanem-pità’ i mpanjakay, amy Asafe, amy Iedotone vaho amy Hemane.
All these were under the direction of their fathers. They were musicians in Yahweh's house, with cymbals and stringed instruments as they served in God's house. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the king's supervision.
7 Ty ia’ iareo naho o rahalahi’ iareoo naòke hisabo am’ Iehovà, ze hene nahimbañe le roanjato-tsi-valompolo-valo’ amby.
They and their brothers who were skilled and trained to make music to Yahweh numbered 288.
8 Sindre nanao ki-tsapake ho amy fi­to­loña’ey, ty kede naho ty bey, ty mpañoke vaho ty mpioke.
They cast lots for their duties, all alike, the same for the young as well as the old, the teacher as well as the student.
9 Ty tsapake valoha’e ho a’ i Asafe le Iosefe; ty faharoe, a i Gedalià; ie naho o raha­lahi’eo naho o ana-dahi’eo, folo-ro’ amby.
Now regarding Asaph's sons: The first lot fell to Joseph's family; the second fell to Gedaliah's family, twelve persons in number;
10 Ty fahatelo a i Zakore, o rahalahi’e naho ana-dahi’eo, folo-ro’amby.
the third fell to Zaccur, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
11 Ty fahefatse a i Itsrý; o ana’dahi’eo naho o rahalahi’eo, folo-ro’ amby.
the fourth fell to Izri, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
12 Ty fahalime, a i Netanià, o ana-dahi’eo naho o rahalahi’eo, folo-ro’amby.
the fifth fell to Nethaniah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
13 Ty fah’eneñe, a i Bokià, o ana-dahi’eo naho o rahalahi’eo, folo-ro’amby.
the sixth fell to Bukkiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
