1 Nañitrike irak’ amy Davide t’i Korame mpanjaka’ i Tsore ninday boda-mendoraveñe naho mpandrafi-bato naho mpandranjy, hamboatse anjomba.
And Chiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar timbers, and masons, and carpenters, to build a house for him.
2 Ie nifohi’ i Davide te niventè’ Iehovà ho mpanjaka’ Israele naho naonjo’e antiotiotse i fifehea’ey ty am’ ondati’e Israeleo,
And David knew that the Lord [had] designed him to be king over Israel; because his kingdom was highly exalted, on account of his people Israel.
3 le nañenga valy maromaro indraike e Ierosalaime ao t’i Davide vaho nisamak’ ana-dahy naho anak’ ampela tovo’e t’i Davide.
And David took more wives in Jerusalem: and there were born to David more sons and daughters.
4 Le zao ty tahina’ o ana’e nasamake e Ierosalaimeo: i Samoà naho i Sobabe, i Natane naho i Selomò
And these [are] the names of those that were born, who were [born] to him in Jerusalem; Samaa, Sobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5 naho Iibkare naho i Elisoà naho i Elpalete
and Baar, and Elisa, and Eliphaleth,
6 naho i Nogà naho i Nefege naho Iafià
and Nageth, and Naphath, and Japhie,
7 naho i Elisama naho i Beliadà vaho i Elifalete.
and Elisamae, and Eliade, and Eliphala.
8 Ie jinanji’ o nte-Pelistio te norizañe hifehe’ Israele iaby t’i Davide, le hene nionjomb’eo o nte-Pelistio hipay i Davide. Ie jinanji’ i Davide le niavota’e hifañatreke.
And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel: and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard [it], and went out to meet them.
9 Nimb’eo o nte-Pelistio niparaitak’ am-bavatanen-dRefà ey.
And the Philistines came and assembled together in the giants' valley.
10 Nañontane aman’ Añahare t’i Davide ami’ty hoe: hionjoñako hao o nte-Pelisteo? Hatolo’o an-tañako hao? Le hoe t’Iehovà ama’e: Mionjona; fa hatoloko am-pità’o.
And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and will you deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to him, Go up, and I will deliver them into your hands.
11 Aa le nionjomb’e Baale-peratsime mb’eo iereo, le zinevo’ i Davide eo. Le hoe t’i Davide, Toe nitotsak’ amo rafelahikoo t’i Andrianañahare manahake ty fisorotombahan-drano. Aa le natao Baale-peratsime i toetsey.
And he went up to Baal Pharasin, and David struck them there; and David said, God has broken through enemies by my hand like a breach of water: therefore he called the name of that place, the Breach of Pharasin.
12 Napo’ iareo eo o samposampo’eo le nandily t’i Davide vaho finorototo añ’ afo irezay.
And the Philistines left their gods there; and David gave orders to burn them with fire.
13 Mbe naname i vavataney indraike o nte-Pelistio.
And the Philistines once more assembled themselves in the giants' valley.
14 Nañontanea’ i Davide indraike t’i Andrianañahare; le hoe t’i Andrianañahare ama’e: Ko mionjomb’ am’ iereo mb’eo, iambohò vaho ivotraho tandrife o sohihio.
And David enquired of God again; and God said to him, You shall not go after them; turn away from them, and you shall come upon them near the pear trees.
15 Ie amy zao naho mahajanjim-peo mangidigidiñe an-digiligi’ o sohihio, le mionjona mb’añ’aly, fa ho nienga aolo anahareo t’i Andrianañahare hanjevo i valobohòm-Pilistiy.
And it shall be, when you shall hear the sound of their tumult in the tops of the pear trees, then you shall go into the battle: for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.
16 Nanoe’ i Davide i nandilian’ Añaharey, le zinevo’ iareo i valobohòm-Pilistiy boake Gibone pake Gezere.
And he did as God commanded him: and he struck the army of the Philistines from Gabaon to Gazera.
17 Niboele amo hene taneo ty enge’ i Davide, le napo’ Iehovà amo kilakila’ ondatio ty fihembañañe ama’e.
And the name of David was [famous] in all the land; and the Lord put the terror of him on all the nations.
