< 1 Tantara 11 >
1 Nifanontoñe amy Davide e Kebrone ao t’Israele iaby, nanao ty hoe: Intoy, toe taola’o naho nofo’o zahay,
And all Israel is gathered to David at Hebron, saying, “Behold, we [are] your bone and your flesh;
2 Ie taolo, ndra te nimpanjaka t’i Saole, le ihe ty niaolo vaho nampimpoly Israele; le nanao ty hoe ama’o t’Iehovà Andrianañahare’o. Ho fahana’o ondatiko Israeleo naho ho mpifehe ondatiko Israeleo.
even in time past, even in Saul’s being king, it is you who are taking out and bringing in Israel, and your God YHWH says to you: You feed My people Israel, and you are leader over My people Israel.”
3 Aa le hene niheo mb’amy mpanjakay e Kebrone mb’eo o mpiaolo’ Israeleo vaho nifañina’ amy Davide e Kebrone ao añatrefa’ Iehovà; le noriza’ iareo ho mpanjaka’ Israele t’i Davide, ty amy tsara’ Iehovà am-pità’ i Samoeley.
And all [the] elderly of Israel come to the king at Hebron, and David makes a covenant with them in Hebron before YHWH, and they anoint David for king over Israel, according to the word of YHWH by the hand of Samuel.
4 Nimb’e Ierosalaime—i atao Iebosiy—t’i Davide naho Israele iaby, ie tao o nte-Iebosio, o mpimoneñe amy taneio.
And David goes, and all Israel, to Jerusalem—it [is] Jebus—and the Jebusite [is] there, the inhabitants of the land.
5 Le hoe o nte-Iebosio amy Davide: Tsy himoak’ atoy irehe. Fe rinambe’ i Davide i rova fatratsey; i atao Rova i Davidey.
And the inhabitants of Jebus say to David, “You do not come in here”; and David captures the fortress of Zion—it [is] the City of David.
6 Ie nanoe’ i Davide ty hoe: Ze mandafa ty nte-Iebosy valoha’e ty ho mpiaolo naho mpifehe. Ioabe ana’ i Tseroià ty nionjoñe valoha’e vaho nanoem-pifeleke.
And David says, “Whoever strikes the Jebusite first becomes head and prince”; and Joab son of Zeruiah goes up first and becomes head.
7 Nimoneñe amy fipalirañey t’i Davide, izay ty nitokaveñ’ aze ty hoe, Rova’ i Davide.
And David dwells in the fortress, therefore they have called it the City of David;
8 Namboatse añariari’ i rovay re, boak’ amy Milòy naho o mañohok’azeo vaho namboare’ Ioabe ty ila’ i rovay.
and he builds the city all around, from Millo, and to the circumference, and Joab restores the rest of the city.
9 Niraorao erike t’i Davide amy te nindre ama’e t’Iehovà i Màroy.
And David goes, going on and becoming great, and YHWH of Hosts [is] with him.
10 Irezao o nimpiaolo’ o fanalolahy mpiamy Davideo, nimpirekets’ ama’e an-kafatrarañe amy fifehea’eio, miharo am’ Israele iaby, nanao aze mpanjaka’ Israele ty amy tsara’ Iehovàio.
And these [are] heads of the mighty ones whom David has, who are strengthening themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to cause him to reign, according to the word of YHWH, over Israel.
11 Inao ty famoliliañe o fanalolahy nimpiamy Davideo: Iasobeame, ana’ i nte-Kakmoniý mpifehe i telopoloy; nonjone’e ami’ty telon-jato i lefo’ey vaho zinevo’e iaby amy andro zay.
And this [is] an account of the mighty ones whom David has: Jashobeam son of a Hachmonite [is] head of the thirty; he is lifting up his spear against three hundred—wounded, at one time.
12 Nanonjohy aze t’i Eleazare ana’ i Dodò nte-Akoake, raik’ amy fanalolahy telo rey.
And after him [is] Eleazar son of Dodo the Ahohite, he [is] among the three mighty;
13 Nindre amy Davide e Pase-Damime ao re, ie nifanontoñe hañotakotake eo o nte-Pelistio, añ’ila’ ty teteke lifotse vare-hordea; naho fa nilay añatrefa’ o nte-Pelistio ondatio,
he has been with David in Pas-Dammim, and the Philistines have been gathered there to battle, and a portion of the field is full of barley, and the people have fled from the face of the Philistines,
14 le nijohañe añivo’ i tetekey iereo, nañaro aze, le zinevo’ iareo o nte-Pelistio; vaho rinomba’ Iehovà an-drombake jabajaba.
and they station themselves in the midst of the portion, and deliver it, and strike the Philistines, and YHWH saves [with] a great salvation.
15 Teo te nizotso mb’amy vato mb’amy Davidey mb’eo, an-dakato’ i Adolame ao, ie nitobe am-bavatane’ i Refaime ao o nte-Pelistio, ty telo amo mpiaolo telopoloo.
And three of the thirty heads go down on the rock to David, to the cave of Adullam, and the host of the Philistines is encamping in the Valley of Rephaim,
16 Ie tam-pipalirañe ao t’i Davide, le te Betlekheme ao o mpirimbo-nte-Pelistio.
and David [is] then in the fortress, and the station of the Philistines [is] then in Beth-Lehem,
17 Niazo ty hasijy t’i Davide, nanao ty hoe: Ehe te eo ty hanjotso rano amako boak’ am-bovom-Betlekheme marine’ i lalambeiy.
and David longs and says, “Who gives me water to drink from the well of Beth-Lehem that [is] at the gate!”
18 Niboroboñafe’ i telo rey i toben-te Pilistiy, le nitarike rano boak’ am-bovo’ i Betlekheme ao marine’ i lalambeiy; nendese’ iereo vaho nazotso’ iareo amy Davide; fe tsy nimete nikama t’i Davide, te mone nadoa’e añatrefa’ Iehovà,
And the three break through the camp of the Philistines, and draw water from the well of Beth-Lehem that [is] at the gate, and carry and bring [it] to David, and David has not been willing to drink it, and pours it out to YHWH,
19 nanao ty hoe: Sondo’e aman’ Añahareko te hanoeko o raha zao; hinomeko hao ty lio’ ondaty namoe’ay retiañe? Fa am-pamoeam-piay i nañandesa’ iareoy. Aa le tsy nimete ninon-dre. Ie o nanoe’ i fanalolahy telo reio.
and says, “Far be it from me, by my God, to do this; do I drink the blood of these men with their lives? For with their lives they have brought it”; and he was not willing to drink it; these [things] the three mighty ones did.
20 I Abisaý, rahalahi’ Ioabe, ty nimpiaolo’ i telopolo rey; ie nañonjon-defoñe ami’ty telon-jato naho zinama’e vaho nibangoeñe añivo’ i telo rey.
And Abishai brother of Joab, he has been head of the three: and he is lifting up his spear against three hundred—wounded, and has a name among three.
21 Ie ty nanañ’ asy amy telo antsaranga faha-roe y vaho nanoeñe mpiaolo’ iareo; fe tsy nitaka’e i telo valoha’e rey.
Of the three he is more honored than the [other] two, and becomes their head; but he has not come to the [first] three.
22 I Benià, ana’ Iehoiadà, ana’ ty fanalolahy nte-Kabtseele, mpitoloñe an-kafatrarañe, nandafa nte-Moabe roe an-tron-diona, le nizotso añivon-koboñe añ’ androm-panàla namono ty liona ao.
Benaiah son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valor, of great deeds, from Kabzeel: he has struck the two lion-like Moabites, and he has gone down and struck the lion in the midst of the pit, in the day of snow.
23 Zinevo’e t’i nte-Mitsraime, ondaty abo, lime kiho ty haabo’e, am-pità’ i nte-Mitsraimey ty lefo’e hoe bodam-panenoñe; kobaiñe ty tama’e te nizotso mb’ama’e mb’eo naho tinava’e am-pità’ i nte-Mitsraimey i lefo’ey vaho vinono’e amy lefo’ey.
And he has struck the man, the Egyptian, a man of [great] measure—five by the cubit—and in the hand of the Egyptian [is] a spear like a weavers’ beam, and he goes down to him with a rod, and violently takes away the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slays him with his own spear.
24 Izay o nanoe’ i Benaià, ana’ Iehoiadào, le nibangoe’ i fanalolahy telo rey i tahina’ey.
These [things] Benaiah son of Jehoiada has done, and has a name among the three mighty ones.
25 Ie ty nanañ’ asy amy telopoloy, f’ie tsy nahatakatse i telo valoha’e rey, ro najado’ i Davide amo mpañaro azeo.
Of the thirty, behold, he [is] honored, but he has not come to the [first] three, and David sets him over his guard.
