1 Lozan’ ny tanàna miodina sady voaloto, Dia ilay mampahory!
Woe [to] the rebellious and polluted, The oppressing city!
2 Tsy nihaino ny feo izy, Na nino anatra; Jehovah tsy nitokiany, Andriamaniny tsy nohatoniny.
She hath not hearkened to the voice, She hath not accepted instruction, In Jehovah she hath not trusted, Unto her God she hath not drawn near.
3 Liona mierona ao aminy ireo lehibeny; Amboadia hariva ny mpitsarany Ka tsy mamela ho tra-maraina.
Her heads in her midst [are] roaring lions, Her judges [are] evening wolves, They have not gnawn the bone in the morning.
4 Vavana sady mpamitaka ny mpaminaniny; Mandoto izay masìna ny mpisorony, Eny, mamadika ny lalàna izy.
Her prophets unstable — men of treachery, Her priests have polluted the sanctuary, They have violated the law.
5 Jehovah no marina ao afovoany, Tsy manao izay tsy marina Izy; Isa-maraina isa-maraina no amoahany ny fitsarany ho amin’ ny mazava, ka tsy diso izany. Fa ny tsy marina tsy mba mahalala henatra.
Jehovah [is] righteous in her midst, He doth not do perverseness, Morning by morning His judgment he giveth to the light, It hath not been lacking, And the perverse doth not know shame.
6 Efa nahafongana firenena Aho, Rava ny tilikambo eny amin’ ny zorony; Nosimbako ny lalany tsy hisy mpandeha; Rava ny tanànany, ka tsy misy olona, Eny, tsy misy mponina.
I have cut off nations, Desolated have been their chief ones, I have laid waste their out-places without any passing by, Destroyed have been their cities, Without man, without inhabitant.
7 Hoy Izaho: Hatahotra Ahy tokoa ianao ka hino anatra, Dia tsy ho rava ny fonenanao, Araka izay rehetra voatendriko hamelezana anao; Kanefa nifoha maraina koa izy ka nanao Izay ratsy rehetra.
I have said: Only, ye do fear Me, Ye do accept instruction, And her habitation is not cut off, All that I have appointed for her, But they have risen early, They have corrupted all their doings.
8 Koa miandrasa Ahy ianareo, hoy Jehovah, Ambara-pihavin’ ny andro hitsanganako haka babo; Fa izao no kasaiko hatao: Hamory firenena sy hanangona fanjakana Aho, Hanidinako ny fahatezerako amin’ ireo, dia ny firehetan’ ny fahatezerako rehetra, Ka ho levon’ ny afon’ ny fahasaro-piaroko ny tany rehetra.
Therefore, wait for Me — an affirmation of Jehovah, For the day of My rising for prey, For My judgment [is] to gather nations, To assemble kingdoms, To pour out on them Mine indignation, All the heat of Mine anger, For by the fire of My jealousy consumed is all the earth.
9 Fa amin’ izany dia hovako ho madio ny molotry ny firenena, Hiantsoan’ izy rehetra ny anaran’ i Jehovah, hanompoany Azy amin’ ny firaisan-kina.
For then do I turn unto peoples a pure lip, To call all of them by the name of Jehovah, To serve Him [with] one shoulder.
10 Avy any an-dafin’ ny onin’ i Etiopia no hitondrana ny mpivavaka amiko, Dia ny zanakavavin’ izay naeliko, ho fanatitra ho Ahy.
From beyond the rivers of Cush, my supplicants, The daughter of My scattered ones, Do bring My present.
11 Amin’ izany andro izany dia tsy ho menatra ianao tamin’ izay nataonao rehetra, Izay nanotanao tamiko; Ka dia hesoriko aminao ireo mibitaka amim-pireharehana, Ary tsy hiavonavona eo an-tendrombohitro masìna intsony ianao.
In that day thou art not ashamed because of any of thine actions, Wherewith thou hast transgressed against Me, For then do I turn aside from thy midst The exulting ones of thine excellency, And thou dost add no more to be haughty, In My holy mountain.
12 Nefa hamelako olona ory sy malahelo ihany ao aminao, Ary ny anaran’ i Jehovah no hialofany,
And I have left in thy midst a people humble and poor, And they have trusted in the name of Jehovah.
13 Ny sisa amin’ ny Isiraely dia tsy hanao meloka na handainga, Ary tsy hisy lela mamitaka eo am-bavany; Fa hihinana sy handry izy, ka tsy hisy hanaitaitra azy.
The remnant of Israel do no perversity, nor speak lies, Nor found in their mouth is a deceitful tongue, For they have delight, and have lain down, And there is none troubling.
14 Mihobia, ry Ziona zanakavavy; Manaova feo fifaliana, ry Isiraely; Mifalia sy miravoravoa amin’ ny fonao rehetra, ry Jerosalema zanakavavy.
Cry aloud, O daughter of Zion, shout, O Israel, Rejoice and exult with the whole heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
15 Jehovah efa nampitsahatra ny fitsarana anao ka nandroaka ny fahavalonao; Jehovah, Mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, no ao aminao; Tsy hahita loza intsony ianao.
Jehovah hath turned aside thy judgments, He hath faced thine enemy, The king of Israel, Jehovah, [is] in thy midst, Thou seest evil no more.
16 Amin’ izany andro izany dia holazaina amin’ i Jerosalema hoe: Aza matahotra Ary aza miraviravy tanana, ry Ziona.
In that day it is said to Jerusalem, 'Fear not, O Zion, let not thy hands be feeble.
17 Jehovah Andriamanitrao no ao aminao, Mahery Izy ka hamonjy; Hiravoravo anao amin’ ny fifaliana Izy; Ho sondriana amin’ ny fitiavany Izy; Hifaly anao amin’ ny fihobiana Izy.
Jehovah thy God [is] in thy midst, A mighty one doth save, He rejoiceth over thee with joy, He doth work in His love, He joyeth over thee with singing.'
18 Hangoniko izay manina ny fotoam-pivavahana; Avy aminao ihany ireny, Ary itambesaran’ ny latsa izy.
Mine afflicted from the appointed place I have gathered, from thee they have been, Bearing for her sake reproach.
19 Indro, hasiako amin’ Izany andro izany izay rehetra nampahory anao; Hovonjeko ny mandringa, ary hovoriko ny noroahina, Eny, hataoko ho fiderana sy ho anarana ireny izay efa nitondra henatra tany amin’ ny tany rehetra.
Lo, I am dealing with all afflicting thee at that time, And I have saved the halting one, And the driven out ones I do gather, And have set them for a praise and for a name, In all the land of their shame.
20 Amin’ izany andro izany no hitondrako anareo miditra, Eny, amin’ izany andro izany no hanangonako anareo; Fa hataoko ho anarana sy ho fiderana any amin’ ny firenena rehetra amin’ ny tany ianareo, Raha hampodiko avy amin’ ny fahababoana ianareo, ka ho hitan’ ny masonareo izany, hoy Jehovah.
At that time I bring you in, Even at the time of My assembling you, For I give you for a name, and for a praise, Among all peoples of the land, In My turning back [to] your captivity before your eyes, said Jehovah!
