< Zakaria 2 >

1 Dia natopiko ny masoko, ka hitako fa, indro, nisy lehilahy manana kofehy famolaina eny an-tànany.
And I lifted up my eyes, and looked, and behold, there was a man with a measure-cord in his hand.
2 Dia hoy izaho: Ho aiza moa ianao? Ary hoy izy tamiko: Handrefy an’ i Jerosalema hizaha ny sakany sy ny lavany aho.
Then said I, Whither art thou going? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is her breadth, and what is her length.
3 Ary, indro, nivoaka ilay anjely niresaka tamiko, ary nisy anjely anankiray koa nivoaka hitsena azy
And, behold, the angel that spoke with me went out, and another angel came out to meet him;
4 ka nanao taminy hoe: Mihazakazaha, ka milazà amin’ io zatovo io hoe: Honenana toy ny tanana tsy mimanda Jerosalema noho ny hamaroan’ ny olona sy ny biby fiompy ao aminy.
And he said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Without walls shall Jerusalem be inhabited because of the multitude of men and cattle in her midst.
5 Fa Izaho, hoy Jehovah, ho manda afo manodidina azy ary ho voninahitra ao afovoany.
But I—I will be unto her, saith the Lord, a wall of fire round about, and for glory will I be in the midst of her.
6 He! he! mandosira avy any amin’ ny tany avaratra, hoy Jehovah; fa aeliko ho toy ny rivotra efatry ny lanitra ianareo, hoy Jehovah.
Up! up! and flee away from the land of the north saith the Lord; for as the four winds of the heaven have I spread you abroad, saith the Lord.
7 He! vonjeo ny tenanao, ry Ziona, izay monina ao Babylona zanakavavy.
Up, Zion, escape, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
8 Fa izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro: Hampiseho voninahitra no nanirahany ahy tany amin’ ny firenena izay namabo anareo; fa izay mikasika anareo dia mikasika ny anakandriamasony.
For thus hath said the Lord of hosts, For the sake of [your] glory hath he sent me unto the nations that have despoiled you; for whoever toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye.
9 Fa, indro, hahinjitro eo amboniny ny tanako, ka hobaboin’ ireo nanompo azy izy; dia ho fantatrareo fa Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no naniraka ahy.
For, behold, I will swing my hand over them, and they shall be a spoil to those that served them: and ye shall acknowledge that the Lord of hosts hath sent me.
10 Mihobia sy mifalia, ry Ziona zanakavavy, fa, indro, avy honina ao afovoanao Aho, hoy Jehovah.
Sing, and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, lo, I am coming, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.
11 Ary firenena maro no hanaiky ho an’ i Jehovah amin’ izany andro izany ka ho oloko; ary hitoetra ao afovoanao aho, ka dia ho fantatrao fa Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no naniraka ahy ho aminao.
And many nations will join themselves to the Lord on that day, and they shall be unto me for a people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
12 Ary Jehovah hanana an’ i Joda ho anjarany ao amin’ ny tany masìna ary mbola hifidy an’ i Jerosalema indray.
And the Lord will take Judah as his inheritance upon the holy land; and he will again make choice of Jerusalem.
13 Mangìna eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah, ry nofo rehetra! fa nifoha avy ao amin’ ny fitoerany masìna Izy.
Be silent, all flesh! before the Lord; for he is waked up out of his holy habitation.
