1 Fivavak’ i Davida.

A Prayer of David. Incline thine ear, Jehovah, answer me; for I am afflicted and needy.

2 Arovy ny fanahiko, fa masìna aho; Andriamanitro ô, vonjeo ny mpanomponao, Izay matoky Anao.

Keep my soul, for I am godly; O thou my God, save thy servant who confideth in thee.

3 Tompo ô, mamindrà fo amiko; Fa Hianao no itarainako mandrakariva.

Be gracious unto me, O Lord; for unto thee do I call all the day.

4 Ampifalio ny fanahin’ ny mpanomponao; Fa Hianao, Tompo ô, no ananganako ny fanahiko.

Rejoice the soul of thy servant; for unto thee, Lord, do I lift up my soul.

5 Fa Hianao, Tompo ô, no tsara sady mamela heloka Ary be famindram-po amin’ izay rehetra miantso Anao.

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and art of great loving-kindness unto all that call upon thee.

6 Mandrenesa ny fivavako, Jehovah ô, Ary henoy ny feon’ ny fifonako.

Give ear, O Jehovah, unto my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications.

7 Amin’ ny andro fahoriako dia miantso Anao aho, Fa mamaly ahy Hianao.

In the day of my distress I will call upon thee, for thou wilt answer me.

8 Tsy misy tahaka Anao, Tompo ô, amin’ ireo andriamanitra; Ary tsy misy tahaka ny asanao.

Among the gods there is none like unto thee, Lord, and there is nothing like unto thy works.

9 Ny firenena rehetra nataonao dia ho avy hiankohoka eo anatrehanao, Tompo ô, Ka hanome voninahitra ny anaranao.

All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord, and shall glorify thy name.

10 Fa lehibe Hianao ka manao zava-mahagaga; Hianao irery ihany no Andriamanitra.

For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God, thou alone.

11 Ampianaro ny lalanao aho, Jehovah ô, Dia handeha amin’ ny fahamarinanao aho; Ampiraiso ny foko hatahotra ny anaranao.

Teach me thy way, Jehovah; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

12 Hidera Anao amin’ ny foko rehetra aho, Andriamanitro Tompo ô Hanome voninahitra ny anaranao mandrakizay aho.

I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart; and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

13 Fa lehibe ny famindram-ponao amiko; Ary efa novonjenao ny fanahiko tsy ho any amin’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita ambany indrindra. (Sheol h7585)

For great is thy loving-kindness toward me, and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol. (Sheol h7585)

14 Andriamanitra ô, ny mpirehareha mitsangana hanohitra ahy, Ary ny antokon’ ny lozabe mitady ny aiko; Ary tsy mba heveriny fa eo anatrehany Hianao.

O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assembly of the violent seek after my soul, and they have not set thee before them.

15 Fa Hianao, Tompo ô, dia Andriamanitra mamindrà fo sy miantra, Mahari-po sady be famindram-po sy fahamarinana.

But thou, Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in goodness and truth.

16 Todiho aho ka amindrao fo; Omeo ny herinao ny mpanomponao, Ary vonjeo ny zanaky ny ankizivavinao.

Turn toward me, and be gracious unto me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.

17 Anehoy famantarana ny ho soa aho, Mba ho hitan’ izay mankahala ahy, ka ho menatra izy; Fa Hianao Jehovah ô, no namonjy sy nampionona ahy.

Shew me a token for good, that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed; for thou, Jehovah, hast helped me and comforted me.
