< Salamo 49 >
1 Ho an’ ny mpiventy hira. Nataon’ ny Koraïta. Salamo. Mandrenesa izao, ry firenena rehetra; mihainoa, ry mponina rehetra amin’ izao tontolo izao:
“To the chief musician, by the sons of Korach, a psalm.” Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the perishable world:
2 Na ny ambany, na ny ambony, na ny manan-karena, na ny malahelo.
Both the sons of the low and the sons of the high, rich and needy, altogether.
3 Ny vavako hiteny fahendrena; ary ny fieritreretan’ ny foko dia fahalalana.
My mouth shall speak wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
4 Hanongilana ny sofiko hihaino oha-teny aho, ary hanonona teny saro-pantarina ampiarahiko amin-dokanga.
I will incline my ear to a parable: I will open with the harp my riddle.
5 Nahoana no hatahotra amin’ ny andro fahoriana aho, nony manodidina ahy ny haratsian’ ny mpamingana ahy,
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my oppressors encompasseth me?—
6 Dia izay matoky ny hareny, Sy mirehareha amin’ ny haben’ ny fananany?
Of those that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves of the multitude of their riches?
7 Tsy misy mahavotra ny rahalahiny akory, na mahazo manome an’ Andriamanitra izay avony,
No one can in any wise redeem his brother, nor can he give to God redemption money for himself;
8 (Fa sarotra avotra ny ainy ka tsy azo atao mandrakizay),
For the ransom of their soul is too costly, and it is omitted for ever.
9 Mba ho velona mandrakizay izy, ka tsy ho latsaka ao amin’ ny lavaka.
And should he still live for ever? not see the pit?
10 Fa hita fa maty ihany ny olon-kendry; ary ny adala sy ny ketrina samy levona, ka mamela ny fananany ho an’ ny hafa.
For he must see that wise men die, that together the fool and the brutish person perish and leave to others their wealth.
11 Araka ny heviny dia ataony fa ho mandrakizay ny tranony, ary ny fonenany hahatratra ny taranaka fara mandimby; araka ny anarany no anononany ny taniny.
Their inward thought is, that their houses are to be for ever, their dwelling-places, from generation to generation; they call them by their own names in [various] countries.
12 Nefa na dia manana voninahitra aza ny olona, dia tsy maharitra izy; tahaka ny biby izay samy tsy maintsy ho faty izy.
Nevertheless man in [his] splendor endureth not: he is like the beasts [that] perish.
13 Izany no falehan’ ny olona adala; ary ny taranany mandimby azy mankasitraka ny teniny. (Sela)
This is their way, their folly: yet their posterity will take pleasure in their sayings. (Selah)
14 Tahaka ny fanangona ondry no fanangona azy any amin’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita; ny fahafatesana no mpiandry azy; ary hanapaka azy ny mahitsy nony maraina; ary ny bikany ho levona any amin’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita, ka tsy hisy fonenany. (Sheol )
Like flocks are they thrust into the nether world; death will feed them; but the upright shall have dominion over them in that morning, and their form wasteth away in the nether world, [taken away] from their own dwelling. (Sheol )
15 Fa Andriamanitra kosa hamonjy ny aiko amin’ ny herin’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita, Satria handray ahy Izy. (Sela) (Sheol )
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the nether world; for he will take me away. (Selah) (Sheol )
16 Aza matahotra ianao, raha misy olona tonga manan-karena, ka mitombo ny voninahitry ny tranony;
Be not thou afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
17 Fa tsy hitondra na inona na inona izy, raha maty; tsy mba hidina hanaraka azy ny voninahiny.
For when he dieth he can take nothing away; his glory will not descend after him.
18 Na dia miarahaba tena aza izy, raha mbola velona ― Fa hidera anao ny olona, raha manisy soa ny tenanao ianao ―
For though he bless his soul during his life, and men praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself:
19 Dia hankany amin’ ny razany izy, tsy hahita ny mazava intsony mandrakizay ireny.
She shall go to the generation of his fathers, unto eternity will these never see light.
20 Izay olona manana voninahitra, nefa tsy manan-tsaina, dia tahaka ny biby izay samy tsy maintsy ho faty.
Man, though in splendor, who understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish. °
