< Salamo 40 >
1 Ho an’ ny mpiventy hira. Salamo nataon’ i Davida. Niandry dia niandry an’ i Jehovah aho; ary nitodika nitsinjo ahy Izy ka nandre ny fitarainako.
“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” I had waited patiently for the Lord, when he inclined himself unto me, and heard my cry.
2 Dia nampakatra ahy avy tao amin’ ny lavaka fandringanana Izy, eny, tamin’ ny fotaka mandrevo; ary nampitoetra ny tongotro teo ambony vatolampy Izy ka nampijoro ahy.
And he brought me up out of the noiseful deep, out of the miry clay, and he set up my feet upon a rock, making firm my steps.
3 Ary nanisy fihiram-baovao teo am-bavako Izy, dia fideràna an’ Andriamanitsika; maro no hahita sy hatahotra ary hatoky an’ i Jehovah.
And he placed in my mouth a new song, a praise unto our God: many will see it, and fear; and they will trust in the Lord.
4 Sambatra izay olona manao an’ i Jehovah ho tokiny, ka tsy mivily ho naman’ ny mpiavonavona na ny mpivadika ho amin’ ny lainga.
Happy is the man that maketh the Lord his trust, and turneth not unto the proud, nor such as stray aside unto lies.
5 Nohamaroinao ny fahagaganao sy ny hevitrao izay nataonao ho anay, Jehovah Andriamanitra ô. Tsy misy azo ampitahaina aminao Raha tiako hambara sy holazaina ireny, dia, indro, maro loatra izy ka tsy tambo isaina.
Many things hast thou done, O Lord my God; thy wonderful deeds and thy thoughts toward us—there is none to be compared unto thee—will I tell and speak of, [though] they are too numerous to be counted.
6 Ny fanatitra alatsa-drà sy ny fanatitra hohanina tsy mba sitrakao ny sofiko nataonao malady ny fanatitra dorana sy ny fanatitra noho ny ota tsy mba nilainao;
Sacrifice and meat-offering thou desirest not—ears hast thou hollowed out unto me—burnt-offering and sin-offering thou demandest not.
7 Dia hoy izaho: inty aho tonga ao amin’ ny horonam-boky no nanoratana ahy.
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the roll of the book it is written down for me;
8 Ny hanao ny sitraponao, Andriamanitra ô, no sitrako; ary ny lalanao no ato anatiko.
To fulfill thy will, O my God, do I desire; and thy law is within my heart.
9 Efa nilaza teny mahafaly ny amin’ ny fahamarinana teo amin’ ny fiangonana lehibe aho; indro ny molotro tsy mba nakomboko; Jehovah ô, Hianao no mahalala.
I announce [thy] righteousness in the great assembly: lo, I will not refrain my lips, O Lord, thou well knowest it.
10 Ny fahamarinanao tsy mba nafeniko tato am-poko; ny fahamarinanao sy ny famonjenao no nambarako; tsy nanafina ny famindram-ponao sy ny fahamarinanao tamin’ ny fiangonana lehibe aho.
Thy righteousness have I never hidden within my heart; thy faithfulness and thy salvation have I spoken of openly: I have not concealed thy kindness and thy truth before the great assembly.
11 Hianao, Jehovah ô, aza miaro ny antranao tsy ho amiko; aoka ny famindram-ponao sy ny fahamarinanao hiaro ahy mandrakariva.
Do thou, O Lord, not withhold thy mercies from me: let thy kindness and thy truth continually watch over me.
12 Fa nanodidina ahy ny fahoriana tsy tambo isaina; nahazo ahy ny heloko, ka tsy mahay mijery aho; maro noho ny volon-dohako ireny, ka reraka ny foko.
For evils without number have compassed me about; my iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see: they are more numerous than the hairs of my head; and my courage hath forsaken me.
13 Aoka ho sitraky ny fonao, Jehovah ô, ny hanafaka ahy; Jehovah ô, faingàna hamonjy ahy.
Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; O Lord, hasten to my help.
14 Aoka ho indray menatra sy mangaihay izay mitady hanimba ny aiko; aoka hiamboho sy ho menatra izay mankasitraka ahy ho ory.
May those be made ashamed and put to the blush together that seek after my soul to take her away: let them be driven backward and be confounded, that wish for my mishap.
15 Aoka ho ankona noho ny fahamenarany ireny manao amiko hoe: Hià! sakoa izay!
May they be astonished in consequence of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha!
16 Aoka ho faly sy ho ravoravo aminao izay rehetra mitady Anao; aoka izay rehetra tia ny famonjenao hanao mandrakariva hoe: hankalazaina anie Jehovah.
[But] may all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee: may they say continually, The Lord be magnified, —those that love thy salvation.
17 Fa na dia ory sy malahelo aza aho, ny Tompo no mihevitra ahy; Mpamonjy sy Mpanafaka ahy Hianao; aza ela, Andriamanitro ô.
But though I be poor and needy, the Lord will think of me: my help and my deliverer art thou: O my God, delay not.
