1 Ho an’ ny mpiventy hira. Salamo nataon’ i Davida. Jehovah ô, vonjeo amin’ ny olon-dratsy aho, Ary arovy amin’ ny olon-dozabe,
To the Chief Musician. A Melody of David. Rescue me, O Yahweh, from the men of mischief, From the men of violence, wilt thou preserve me:
2 Izay mihevitra ratsy ao am-pony Ka manangana ady isan’ andro
Who have devised mischiefs in their [heart], Every day, do they stir up wars:
3 Mandranitra ny lelany tahaka ny bibilava izy, Ny poizin’ ny menarana no ao ambanin’ ny molony. (Sela)
They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent, —The poison of the asp, is under their lips. (Selah)
4 Jehovah ô, vonjeo amin’ ny tanan’ ny ratsy fanahy aho, Ary arovy amin’ ny olon-dozabe, Izay efa nihevitra handronjina ahy ho potraka.
Keep me, O Yahweh, from the hands of the lawless one, From the man of violence, wilt thou preserve me, —who have devised, to thrust at my steps:
5 Ny mpiavonavona efa nanafina fandrika sy kofehy hamandrihany ahy; Efa namela-pandrika harato teo amoron-dalana izy; Nametraka tadivavarana hahazoany ahy izy.
The proud have hidden a snare for me, and, cords, have they spread as a net beside the track, Snares, have they set for me. (Selah)
6 Hoy izaho tamin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitro Hianao; Henoy ny feon’ ny fifonako, Jehovah ô!
I have said unto Yahweh, My GOD, thou art! Give ear, O Yahweh, unto the voice of my supplications.
7 Jehovah, Tompo ô, ry Herin’ ny famonjena ahy, Manarona ny lohako amin’ ny andro fiadiana Hianao.
O Yahweh, My Lord, my saving strength, thou hast screened my head in the day of battle.
8 Jehovah ô, aza manome ny irin’ ny ratsy fanahy; Ary aza avela ho tanteraka ny hevi-dratsiny, fandrao hisandratra izy. (Sela)
Do not grant, O Yahweh, the desires of the lawless one, his device, do not promote, They would exalt themselves. (Selah)
9 Ny lohan’ izay manemitra ahy Dia aoka hosaronan’ ny ratsy tononin’ ny molony.
As for the head of them who surround me, Let the mischief of their lips cover them:
10 Aoka hisy vain’ afo halatsaka aminy; Aoka hariana any anaty afo izy, na any amin’ ny rano lalina, ka tsy hiarina intsony.
May there be dropped on them live coals, —Into the fire, may they be let fall, into watery pits [from which] they shall not rise.
11 Tsy hampitoerina amin’ ny tany ny olo-mahay vava; Henjehin-doza ny olon-dozabe ka ho lavo.
As for the slanderer, let him not be established in the earth, —As for the man of wrongful violence, let misfortune hunt him with thrust upon thrust.
12 Fantatro fa Jehovah no handahatra ny tenin’ ny mahantra Sady hanome rariny ho an’ ny malahelo.
I know that Yahweh will execute, the right of the oppressed one, the vindication of the needy.
13 Eny tokoa, ny marina hisaotra ny anaranao; Hitoetra eo anatrehanao ny mahitsy.
Surely, the righteous, shall give thanks to thy Name, the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
