Ohabolana 3
1 Anaka, aza manadino ny lalàko; Fa aoka ny fonao hitandrina ny didiko;
My son, forget not my teaching, and let thy heart keep my commandments;
2 Fa andro maro sy taona ela iainana Ary fiadanana no hanampiny ho anao.
For length of days, and years of life, and peace, will they increase unto thee.
3 Aoka tsy handao anao ny famindram-po sy ny fahamarinana; Afehezo eo am-bozonao izany, Ary soraty ao amin’ ny fonao tahaka ny amin’ ny vato fisaka,
Let kindness and truth not forsake thee; bind them about thy throat; write them upon the table of thy heart:
4 Ka dia hahazo fitia sy fahalalana tsara Eo anatrehan’ Andriamanitra sy ny olona ianao.
So shalt thou find grace and good favor in the eyes of God and man.
5 Matokia an’ i Jehovah amin’ ny fonao rehetra, Fa aza miankina amin’ ny fahalalanao;
Trust in the Lord with all thy heart: and upon thy own understanding do not rely.
6 Maneke Azy amin’ ny alehanao rehetra, Fa Izy handamina ny lalanao,
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will make level thy paths.
7 Aza manao anao ho hendry; Matahora an’ i Jehovah, ka mifadia ny ratsy.
Be not wise in thy own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
8 Dia ho famelombelomana ny nofonao izany Sy ho fanamandoana ny taolanao.
It will be healing to thy body, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Mankalazà an’ i Jehovah amin’ ny fanananao Sy amin’ izay voaloham-bokatrao rehetra;
Honor the Lord with thy wealth, and with the first-fruits of all thy products:
10 Ka dia ho feno mitafotafo ny fitoeram-barinao, Ary hihoatra ny ranom-boaloboka eo amin’ ny vata fanantazanao.
So shall thy storehouses be filled with plenty, and with new wine shall thy presses overflow.
11 Anaka, aza manamavo ny famaizan’ i Jehovah, Ary aza tofoka amin’ ny fananarany;
The correction of the Lord, my son, do not despise; and feel no loathing for his admonition;
12 Fa izay tian’ i Jehovah no anariny, Dia tahaka ny ataon’ ny ray amin’ ny zanaka tiany.
Because whomever the Lord loveth he admonisheth; and as a father who delighteth in [his] son.
13 Sambatra izay olona mahita fahendrena Sy izay olona mahazo fahalalana.
Happy the man that hath found wisdom, and the man that acquireth understanding.
14 Fa ny fandrantoana azy dia tsara noho ny fandrantoana volafotsy, Ary ny tombom-barotra aminy dia mihoatra noho ny volamena tsara.
For the obtaining of her is better than the obtaining of silver, and better than fine gold is her product.
15 Sarobidy noho ny voahangy izy; Ary izay rehetra irinao tsy misy azo ampitahaina aminy.
She is more precious than pearls; and all the things thou valuest are not equal unto her.
16 Fa andro maro no eo an-tànany ankavanana; Ary harena sy voninahitra no eo an-tànany ankavia.
Length of days is in her right hand: in her left are riches and honor.
17 Làlana mahafinaritra ny lalany, Ary fiadanana ny alehany rehetra.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 Hazon’ aina ho an’ izay rehetra mifikitra aminy izy; Ary izay rehetra mitana azy no hatao hoe sambatra.
A tree of life is she to those that lay hold on her: and every one that firmly graspeth her will be made happy.
19 Fahendrena no nanorenan’ i Jehovah ny tany, Ary fahalalana no nampitoerany ny lanitra.
The Lord hath through wisdom founded the earth: he hath established the heavens through understanding.
20 Ny fahalalany no entiny mampiboiboika ny rano any amin’ ny lalina Sy ampitetevany ando avy amin’ ny rahona.
By his knowledge were the depths split open, and the skies drop down the dew.
21 Anaka, aoka tsy hiala amin’ ny masonao izany; Raketo ny tena fahendrena sy ny fisainana mazava,
My son, let them not be removed from thy eyes; keep [before thee] sound wisdom and discretion:
22 Ka dia ho ain’ ny fanahinao izany Ary ho firavaky ny vozonao,
And they will be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy throat.
23 Dia handroso aman-toky ianao, Ka tsy ho tafintohina ny tongotrao.
Then wilt thou walk in safety on thy way, and thy foot will not strike [against aught]:
24 Tsy hatahotra ianao, raha mandry; Eny, handry ianao, ary ho mamy ny torimasonao.
When thou layest thyself down, thou shalt feel no dread; and as thou liest down, thy sleep shall be pleasant.
25 Aza manahy ny tahotra avy tampoka, Na ny rivo-doza mamely ny ratsy fanahy, raha avy izany;
Thou needest not to be afraid of sudden dread, neither of the [unlooked-for] tempest over the wicked, when it cometh.
26 Fa Jehovah no ho tokinao Ka hiambina ny tongotrao tsy ho voafandrika.
For the Lord will be thy confidence, and he will guard thy foot from being caught.
27 Aza mamihina ny soa amin’ izay tokony homena azy, Raha azon’ ny tananao atao ihany;
Withhold not a benefit from him who is deserving it, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it.
28 Aza manao amin’ ny namanao hoe: Mandehana, ka avia indray, fa rahampitso no homeko; Kanefa manana ihany ianao.
Say not unto thy neighbor, Go, and return, and tomorrow will I give: when thou hast it by thee.
29 Aza mamorona sain-dratsy ho enti-mamely ny namanao, Saingy mitoetra matoky eo aminao izy.
Contrive not against thy neighbor any evil, when he dwelleth in safety with thee.
30 Aza miady amin’ olona foana, Raha tsy mbola nanisy ratsy anao izy.
Quarrel not with any man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
31 Aza mialona ny olon-dozabe, Na mifidy izay lalany akory,
Envy not the man of violence, and choose none of his ways.
32 Satria fahavetavetana eo imason’ i Jehovah ny maniasia, Fa ao amin’ ny marina kosa ny fisakaizany.
For the froward is an abomination to the Lord; but with the upright is his good-will.
33 Ny ozon’ i Jehovah dia ao an-tranon’ ny ratsy fanahy; Fa ny fonenan’ ny marina dia tahìny kosa.
The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked; but the habitation of the righteous will he bless.
34 Na dia tsiratsirainy aza ny mpaniratsira, Dia omeny fahasoavana kosa ny mpandefitra.
If [it concern] the scornful he will himself render them a scorn; but unto the lowly doth he give grace.
35 Ny hendry handova voninahitra; Fa henatra kosa no ho anjaran’ ny adala.
The wise shall inherit glory; but fools shall obtain disgrace as their portion.
