1 Izay olona anarina matetika ka mihamafy hatoka Dia ho torotoro tampoka, ka tsy hisy fahasitranana.
He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.
2 Raha mihamaro ny marina, dia faly ny vahoaka; Fa raha ny ratsy fanahy no manapaka, dia misento kosa izy.
When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
3 Izay tia fahendrena no mahafaly ny rainy; Fa izay misakaiza amin’ ny vehivavy janga dia mandany harena.
Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father; but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.
4 Ny rariny no ampandrian’ ny mpanjaka ny tany; Fa izay mandray tambitamby no mandrava azy kosa.
The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down.
5 Izay olona mandrobo ny namany Dia mamela-pandrika ny tongony.
A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.
6 Misy fandrika amin’ ny heloky ny olon-dratsy; Fa ny marina mihoby sy mifaly.
An evil man is snared by his sin, but the righteous can sing and be glad.
7 Ny marina mihevitra ny adin’ ny malahelo; Fa ny ratsy fanahy tsy hahalala fahendrena.
The righteous care about justice for the poor. The wicked aren’t concerned about knowledge.
8 Ny mpaniratsira mampihotakotaka ny tanàna; Fa ny hendry mampionona fahatezerana.
Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.
9 Raha iadian’ ny hendry ny adala, Dia tezitra sy mihomehy izy, ka tsy hisy fitsaharana.
If a wise man goes to court with a foolish man, the fool rages or scoffs, and there is no peace.
10 Ny olona mpandatsa-drà mankahala ny tsy misy tsiny; Fa ny mahitsy kosa miahy ny ainy.
The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright.
11 Ny fahatezeran’ ny adala dia avoakany avokoa; Fa ny hendry kosa manindry fo.
A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control.
12 Raha mihaino lainga ny mpanapaka, Dia ho ratsy fanahy ny mpanompony rehetra.
If a ruler listens to lies, all of his officials are wicked.
13 Mihaona ny malahelo sy ny mpampahory; Jehovah no manazava ny mason’ izy roa tonta.
The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: Yahweh gives sight to the eyes of both.
14 Izay mpanjaka mitsara marina ny malahelo, Dia haharitra mandrakizay ny seza fiandrianany.
The king who fairly judges the poor, his throne shall be established forever.
15 Ny tsorakazo sy ny anatra no manome fahendrena; Fa ny zaza aranana mampahamenatra ny reniny.
The rod of correction gives wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.
16 Raha maro ny ratsy fanahy, dia mitombo ny ota; Fa ny marina ho faly mahita ny fahalavoany.
When the wicked increase, sin increases; but the righteous will see their downfall.
17 Faizo ny zanakao, dia ho famelombelomana ny fonao izy Sy ho fifalian’ ny fanahinao.
Correct your son, and he will give you peace; yes, he will bring delight to your soul.
18 Raha tsy misy fahitana, dia atondraka hanaram-po amin’ izay tsy mety ny olona; Fa raha mitandrina ny lalàna kosa izy, dia sambatra.
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed.
19 Raha teny fotsiny ihany, dia tsy ampy hananarana ny mpanompo; Fa na dia fantany aza, tsy hankatoaviny.
A servant can’t be corrected by words. Though he understands, yet he will not respond.
20 Hitanao va ny olona faingam-bava? Ny adala aza misy hantenaina kokoa noho izy.
Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
21 Ny mpanompo izay nampihantaina hatry ny fony mbola kely Dia hihambo ho zanaka any am-parany.
He who pampers his servant from youth will have him become a son in the end.
22 Ny olona mora tezitra manetsika ady; Ary ny olona masiaka dia be fahadisoana.
An angry man stirs up strife, and a wrathful man abounds in sin.
23 Ny fiavonavonan’ ny olona no hampietry azy; Fa hahazo voninahitra kosa ny manetry tena.
A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.
24 Izay miray tetika amin’ ny mpangalatra dia manary tena; Mandre ny fampianianana izy, nefa tsy mety milaza.
Whoever is an accomplice of a thief is an enemy of his own soul. He takes an oath, but dares not testify.
25 Mamandrika ny tahotra olona; Fa izay matoky an’ i Jehovah no hovonjena.
The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe.
26 Maro no mila sitraka amin’ ny mpanapaka; Fa avy amin’ i Jehovah ny fitsarana ny olona.
Many seek the ruler’s favor, but a man’s justice comes from Yahweh.
27 Ny meloka dia fahavetavetana eo imason’ ny marina; Ary ny mahitsy lalana dia mba fahavetavetana eo imason’ ny ratsy fanahy kosa.
A dishonest man detests the righteous, and the upright in their ways detest the wicked.
