< Ohabolana 16 >

1 Ny fikasan’ ny fo no amin’ ny olona; Fa ny famalian’ ny lela dia avy amin’ i Jehovah.
2 Ataon’ ny olona ho madio avokoa ny lalana rehetra alehany; Fa Jehovah ihany no mpandanja ny fanahy.
All the works of the humble [man] are manifest with God; but the ungodly shall perish in an evil day.
3 Ankino amin’ i Jehovah ny asanao, Dia ho lavorary izay kasainao.
4 Ny zavatra rehetra nataon’ i Jehovah dia samy misy antony avokoa; Eny, ny ratsy fanahy koa aza dia nataony ho amin’ ny andro hahitan-doza.
5 Fahavetavetana eo imason’ i Jehovah izay rehetra miavonavona am-po, Azo itompoana tokoa fa tsy maintsy hampijalina izy.
Every one that is proud in heart is unclean before God, and he that unjustly strikes hands with hand shall not be held guiltless. The beginning of a good way is to do justly; and it is more acceptable with God than to offer sacrifices. He that seeks the Lord shall find knowledge with righteousness: and they that rightly seek him shall find peace. All of the works of the Lord [are done] with righteousness; and the ungodly [man] is kept for the evil day.
6 Ny famindram-po sy ny fahamarinana no avotra amin’ ny heloka; Ary ny fahatahorana an’ i Jehovah no analavirana ny ratsy.
7 Raha sitrak’ i Jehovah ny alehan’ ny olona, Na dia ny fahavalony aza dia hampihavaniny aminy.
8 Aleo ny kely omban’ ny fahamarinana Toy izay ny harem-bevava azo amin’ ny tsy rariny.
9 Ny fon’ ny olona mihevitra tsara ny halehany; Fa Jehovah ihany no mahalavorary ny diany.
10 Ny teny marina dia eo amin’ ny molotry ny mpanjaka, Ary tsy diso teny izy, raha mitsara.
[There is] an oracle upon the lips of a king; and his mouth shall not err in judgment.
11 An’ i Jehovah ny fandanjana sy ny mizana marina, Avy aminy avokoa ireo vato rehetra an-kitapo.
The poise of the balance is righteousness with the Lord; and his works are righteous measures.
12 Fahavetavetana eo imason’ ny mpanjaka ny fanaovan-dratsy; Fa fahamarinana no iorenan’ ny seza fiandrianana.
An evil-doer is an abomination to a king; for the throne of rule is established by righteousness.
13 Sitraky ny mpanjaka ny molotra marina, Ary izay miteny mahitsy no tiany.
Righteous lips are acceptable to a king; and he loves right words.
14 Ny fahatezeran’ ny mpanjaka dia iraky ny fahafatesana. Fa ny olon-kendry mampionona izany.
The anger of a king is a messenger of death; but a wise man will pacify him.
15 Amin’ ny fahamiramiranan’ ny tarehin’ ny mpanjaka dia misy fiainana, Ary ny fankasitrahany dia toy ny rahona amin’ ny fararano.
The son of a king is in the light of life; and they that are in favor with him are as a cloud of latter rain.
16 Tsara ny mahazo fahendrena noho ny volamena, Ary tsara ny mahazo fahalalana noho ny volafotsy.
The brood of wisdom is more to be chosen than gold, and the brood of prudence more to be chosen than silver.
17 Ny manalavitra ny ratsy no lalamben’ ny marina, Ary izay mitandrina ny alehany no miaro ny ainy.
The paths of life turn aside from evil; and the ways of righteousness are length of life. He that receives instruction shall be in prosperity; and he that regards reproofs shall be made wise. He that keeps his ways, preserves his own soul; and he that loves his life will spare his mouth.
18 Ny fiavonavonana mialoha ny fahasimbana, Ary ny fanahy mirehareha mialoha ny fahalavoana.
Pride goes before destruction, and folly before a fall.
19 Tsara ny malemy fanahy ao amin’ izay manetry tena Noho ny mizara babo amin’ izay miavonavona.
Better is a meek-spirited [man] with lowliness, than one who divides spoils with the proud.
20 Izay mandinika ny teny no hahita soa; Ary izay matoky an’ i Jehovah no ho sambatra.
[He who is] skillful in business finds good: but he that trusts in God is most blessed.
21 Izay hendry am-po dia lazaina hoe manan-tsaina, Ary ny hamamian’ ny molotra mampandroso fahendrena.
[Men] call the wise and understanding evil: but they that are pleasing in speech shall hear more.
22 Loharanon’ aina ny fahazavan-tsaina amin’ izay manana izany; Fa ny famaizana ataon’ ny adala dia fahadalana ihany.
Understanding is a fountain of life to its possessors; but the instruction of fools is evil.
23 Ny fon’ ny hendry mahahendry ny vavany Sady manampy fahendrena eo amin’ ny molony.
The heart of the wise will discern the [things which proceed] from his own mouth; and on his lips he will wear knowledge.
24 Toho-tantely ny teny mahafinaritra, Ka sady mamin’ ny fanahy no mahatsara ny taolana.
Good words are honeycombs, and the sweetness thereof is a healing of the soul.
25 Misy lalana ataon’ ny olona ho mahitsy, Kanjo lalana mivarina any amin’ ny fahafatesana no iafarany.
There are ways that seem to be right to a man, but the end of them looks to the depth of hell. (questioned)
26 Ny fahanoanan’ ny mpiasa dia mampiasa azy, Fa ny tendany no manesika azy.
A man who labors, labors for himself, and drives from [him] his own ruin.
27 Ny ratsy fanahy mihady lavaka fanimbana, Sady misy toy ny afo mahamay eo amin’ ny molony.
But the perverse bears destruction upon his own mouth: a foolish man digs up evil for himself, and treasures fire on his own lips.
28 Ny mpivadibadika mamafy ady; Ary ny mpibitsibitsika mampisaraka ny tena mpisakaiza.
A perverse man spreads mischief, and will kindle a torch of deceit with mischiefs; and he separates friends.
29 Ny lozabe mitaona ny namany Ka mitarika azy amin’ ny lalana tsy tsara.
A transgressor tries [to ensnare] friends, and leads them in ways [that are] not good.
30 Izay manakimpy ny masony hieritreritra ny ratsy Sady manaikitraiki-molotra dia efa mikasa hanao ratsy.
And the man that fixes his eyes devises perverse things, and marks out with his lips all evil: he is a furnace of wickedness.
31 Satroboninahitra tsara tarehy ny volofotsy, Ao amin’ ny lalan’ ny fahamarinana no ahazoana azy.
Old age is a crown of honor, but it is found in the ways of righteousness.
32 Tsara ny mahatsindry fo noho ny mahery, Ary izay mahazaka ny fanahiny noho izay mahafa-bohitra.
A man slow to anger is better than a strong [man]; and he that governs [his] temper better than he that takes a city.
33 Ny filokana dia atsipy ao am-pofoany; Fa avy amin’ i Jehovah ihany no isehoan’ ny fitsarany.
All [evils] come upon the ungodly into [their] bosoms; but all righteous things [come] of the Lord.
