< Ohabolana 11 >

1 Ny mizana mandainga dia fahavetavetana eo imason’ i Jehovah; Fa ny vato marina no ankasitrahany.
False balances are an abomination before the Lord: but a just weight is acceptable unto him.
2 Raha tonga ny fiavonavonana, dia tonga koa ny fahafaham-baraka; Fa ao amin’ ny manetry tena no misy fahendrena.
Wherever pride enters, there will be also disgrace: but the mouth of the lowly meditates wisdom.
3 Ny fahitsian’ ny mahitsy no mitarika azy; Fa ny faharatsian’ ny mpivadika mahatonga fandringanana amin’ ny tenany.
When a just man dies he leaves regret: but the destruction of the ungodly is speedy, and causes joy.
4 Ny harena dia tsy mahasoa amin’ ny andro fahatezerana; Fa ny fahamarinana no mamonjy tsy ho azon’ ny fahafatesana.
[Possessions will not profit in a day of wrath, but righteousness will deliver from death. ]
5 Ny fahamarinan’ ny marina mandamina ny alehany; Fa ny ratsy fanahy lavon’ ny haratsiany ihany.
Righteousness traces out blameless paths: but ungodliness encounters unjust dealing.
6 Ny fahamarinan’ ny mahitsy mamonjy azy; Fa ny mpivadika dia voafandriky ny filàny.
The righteousness of upright men delivers them: but transgressors are caught in their own destruction.
7 Raha maty ny ratsy fanahy, dia foana ny fanantenany, Eny, foana ny fanantenan’ ny mpanao ratsy.
At the death of a just man his hope does not perish: but the boast of the ungodly perishes.
8 Ny marina dia vonjena amin’ ny fahoriana; Fa ho avy kosa ny ratsy fanahy hisolo azy.
A righteous man escapes from a snare, and the ungodly man is delivered up in his place.
9 Ny vavan’ ny mpihatsaravelatsihy no animbany ny namany; Fa ny fahalalana no hanafahana ny marina.
In the mouth of ungodly men is a snare to citizens: but the understanding of righteous men is prosperous.
10 Raha miadana ny marina, dia ravoravo ny tanàna; Fa raha ringana ny ratsy fanahy, dia velona ny hoby.
In the prosperity of righteous men a city prospers: but by the mouth of ungodly men it is overthrown.
11 Ny fisaoran’ ny marina no isandratan’ ny tanàna; Fa ny vavan’ ny ratsy fanahy no aharavany.
[At the blessing of the upright a city shall be exalted. ]
12 Tsy ampy saina izay manamavo ny namany; Fa izay hendry dia mangìna.
A man void of understanding sneers at [his fellow] citizens: but a sensible man is quiet.
13 Izay mandehandeha manaratsy dia manambara ny hevitra afenina; Fa ny olona mahatoky tsy mba tia lazalaza.
A double-tongued man discloses the [secret] counsels of an assembly: but he that is faithful in spirit conceals matters.
14 Raha tsy misy mpitondra, dia rava ny firenena; Fa handry fahizay, raha maro ny mpanolo-tsaina.
They that have no guidance fall like leaves: but in much counsel there is safety.
15 Hahita loza tokoa ny mianto-bahiny: Fa mitoetra tsy manana ahiahy ny tsy tia antoka.
A bad man does harm wherever he meets a just man: and he hates the sound of safety.
16 Ny vehivavy tsara tarehy mahazo dera; Ary ny mpanao an-keriny mahazo harena.
A gracious wife brings glory to her husband: but a woman hating righteousness is a theme of dishonour. The slothful come to want: but the diligent support themselves with wealth.
17 Ny olona mamindra fo dia mahazo soa ho an’ ny tenany; Fa ny lozabe dia todin’ ny halozany.
A merciful man does good to his own soul: but the merciless destroys his own body.
18 Ny ratsy fanahy dia mahazo valiny tsy mahasoa; Fa izay mamafy fahamarinana no mahazo izay tena tambiny tokoa.
An ungodly man performs unrighteous works: but the seed of the righteous is a reward of truth.
19 Ny tena fahamarinana dia mamantana any amin’ ny fiainana; Fa izay fatra-panaraka ny ratsy dia iharan’ ny fahafatesana.
A righteous son is born for life: but the persecution of the ungodly [ends] in death.
20 Fahavetavetana eo imason’ i Jehovah ny meloka am-po; Fa ankasitrahany kosa izay mandeha tsy misy tsiny.
Perverse ways are an abomination to the Lord: but all they that are blameless in their ways are acceptable to him.
21 Azo itompoana tokoa fa tsy maintsy hampijalina ny ratsy fanahy; Fa ny taranaky ny marina no hovonjena.
He that unjustly strikes hands shall not be unpunished: but he that sows righteousness he shall receive a faithful reward.
22 Toy ny kavim-bolamena eo amin’ ny oron-kisoa Ny vehivavy tsara tarehy tsy manam-pahendrena.
As an ornament in a swine's snout, so is beauty to an ill-minded women.
23 Ny soa ihany no irin’ ny marina; Fa fahatezerana no fanantenan’ ny ratsy fanahy.
All the desire of the righteous is good: but the hope of the ungodly shall perish.
24 Misy mahafoy, nefa mitombo fananana ihany; Ary misy fatra-pahihitra loatra, nefa tonga malahelo ihany.
There are [some] who scatter their own, and make it more: and there are [some] also who gather, [yet] have less.
25 Izay manisy soa olona hohatavezina; Ary izay mandena dia mba holemana kosa.
Every sincere soul is blessed: but a passionate man is not graceful.
26 Izay tsy mamoaka ny variny dia ozonin’ ny olona; Fa saotra no ho amin’ ny lohan’ izay mivarotra.
May he that hoards corn leave it to the nation: but blessing be on the head of him that gives [it].
27 Izay fatra-pikatsaka ny tsara no mitady ny mahafinaritra; Fa izay mitady ny ratsy dia hiharan’ izany.
He that devises good [counsels] seeks good favour: but [as for] him that seeks after evil, [evil] shall overtake him.
28 Izay matoky ny hareny dia ho lavo; Fa ny marina ho tahaka ny ravina maitso.
He that trusts in wealth shall fall; but he that helps righteous men shall rise.
29 Izay mampidi-doza amin’ ny ankohonany dia mandova ny rivotra; Ary ny adala dia tonga mpanompon’ ny hendry.
He that deals not graciously with his own house shall inherit the wind; and the fool shall be servant to the wise man.
30 Ny vokatry ny marina dia hazon’ aina, Ary ny hendry dia mahataona olona.
Out of the fruit of righteousness grows a tree of life; but the souls of transgressors are cut off before their time.
31 Indro, ny marina aza dia valiana etỳ an-tany, Koa mainka fa ny ratsy fanahy sy ny mpanota!
If the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
