< Nomery 31 >
1 Ary Jehovah niteny tamin’ i Mosesy ka nanao hoe:
Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
2 Valio ny Midianita noho ny nataony tamin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely; ary rehefa afaka izany, dia hangonina any amin’ ny razanao ianao.
“Take vengeance on the Midianites for what they did to the Israelites. After doing that, you will die and be gathered to your people.”
3 Dia niteny tamin’ ny olona Mosesy ka nanao hoe: Miomàna ho any an-tafika ny sasany aminareo, ary aoka izy hanafika ny Midianita, hahatanteraka ny famalian’ i Jehovah azy.
So Moses spoke to the people. He said, “Arm some of your men for war so they may go against Midian and carry out Yahweh's vengeance on it.
4 Arivo lahy avy isam-pirenena amin’ ny firenen’ Isiraely no hampandehaninareo ho any an-tafika.
Every tribe throughout Israel must send a thousand soldiers to war.”
5 Dia navahana tamin’ ny firenen’ Isiraely ny arivo isam-pirenena, dia roa arivo amby iray alina, samy voaomana hiady.
So out of Israel's thousands of men, one thousand was provided from each tribe, twelve thousand men armed for war.
6 Ary nampandehanin’ i Mosesy ho any an-tafika ireo arivo lahy isam-pirenena ireo sy Finehasa, zanak’ i Eleazara mpisorona, izay nitondra ny fanaka masìna teny an-tànany, dia ny trompetra avo feo.
Then Moses sent them to battle, a thousand from every tribe, along with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, and with some articles from the holy place and the trumpets in his possession for sounding signals.
7 Dia niady tamin’ ny Midianita ireo, araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy; ary namono ny lehilahy rehetra izy
They fought against Midian, as Yahweh had commanded Moses. They killed every man.
8 ary ny mpanjakan’ i Midiana dimy lahy dia matiny niaraka tamin’ ireny koa, dia Evy sy Rekema sy Zora sy Hora ary Reba; ary Balama, zanak’ i Beora, koa dia novonoiny tamin’ ny sabatra.
They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their dead: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor, with the sword.
9 Ary ny Zanak’ Isiraely namabo ny vehivavy Midianita sy ny zanany madinika; ary nobaboiny avokoa ny biby fiompiny rehetra sy ny omby aman’ ondriny rehetra ary ny fananany rehetra.
The army of Israel took captive the women of Midian, their children, all their cattle, all their flocks, and all their goods. They took these as plunder.
10 Ary ny tanànany rehetra izay teo amin’ ny fonenany sy ny tobiny rehetra dia nodorany tamin’ ny afo.
They burned all their cities where they lived and all their camps.
11 Ary nalainy avokoa ny babo rehetra, na olona na biby fiompy,
They took all the plunder and prisoners, both people and animals.
12 dia nentiny tany amin’ i Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona ary ny fiangonan’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely teo an-toby, teo Arbota-moaba, izay eo amoron’ i Jordana tandrifin’ i Jeriko.
They brought the prisoners, the plunder, and the captured things to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the community of the people of Israel. They brought these to the camp in the plains of Moab, by the Jordan near Jericho.
13 Ary Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona ary ny lohan’ ny fiangonana rehetra nivoaka hitsena azy teo ivelan’ ny toby.
Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the community went to meet them outside the camp.
14 Ary tezitra tamin’ ny mpifehy ny miaramila Mosesy, dia tamin’ ny mpifehy arivo sy ny mpifehy zato, izay avy tany an-tafika,
But Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the commanders of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from battle.
15 ka hoy izy taminy: Nahoana no novelominareo ny vehivavy rehetra?
Moses said to them, “Have you let all the women live?
16 Ireo ihany no nampahadiso ny Zanak’ Isiraely tamin’ i Jehovah ny amin’ i Peora, araka ny tenin’ i Balama, ka nahazo ny fiangonan’ i Jehovah ny areti-mandringana.
Look, these women caused the people of Israel, through Balaam's advice, to commit sin against Yahweh in the matter of Peor, when the plague spread among Yahweh's community.
17 Koa ankehitriny, vonoy ny zazalahy madinika rehetra, ary vonoy koa ny vehivavy rehetra izay efa nahalala lahy.
Now then, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has ever slept with a man.
18 Fa ny zazavavy rehetra izay tsy mbola nahalala lahy dia velomy ho anareo.
But take for yourselves all the young girls who have never slept with a man.
19 Ary mitobia eo ivelan’ ny toby hafitoana; ary izay nahafaty olona na nikasika faty dia samia manadio ny tenany, na ianareo, na ny sambotrareo amin’ ny andro fahatelo sy ny andro fahafito.
You must camp outside the camp of Israel for seven days. All of you who have killed anyone and or have touched any dead person—you must purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day—you and your prisoners.
20 Ary ny fitafiana rehetra, na ny fanaka hoditra, na ny fanaka volon’ osy, na ny fanaka hazo, dia diovy avokoa.
You must purify every garment and everything made of animal hide and goats' hair, and everything made of wood.”
21 Ary hoy Eleazara mpisorona tamin’ ny mpanafika, izay efa tany amin’ ny ady: Izao no lalàna hotandremana, izay nandidian’ i Jehovah’ an i Mosesy:
Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone to war, “This is a decreed law that Yahweh has given to Moses:
22 Ny volamena sy ny volafotsy sy ny varahina sy ny vy sy ny vifotsy ary ny firaka,
The gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, and lead,
23 dia ny zavatra rehetra izay maharitra afo, dia ataovy ao amin’ ny afo, dia hadio, kanefa hodiovina amin’ ny rano fanadiovana koa izy; ary izay rehetra tsy maharitra afo kosa dia ataovy ao amin’ ny rano ihany.
and everything that resists fire, you must put it through the fire, and it will become clean. You must then purify those things with the water of cleansing. Whatever cannot go through the fire you must cleanse with that water.
24 Ary sasao ny fitafianareo amin’ ny andro fahafito, dia hadio ianareo; ary rehefa afaka izany, dia mahazo miditra eo amin’ ny toby ianareo.
You must wash your clothes on the seventh day, and then you will become clean. Afterward you may come into Israel's camp.”
25 Ary Jehovah niteny tamin’ i Mosesy ka nanao hoe:
Then Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
26 Alaonao sy Eleazara mpisorona sy ny lohan’ ny fianakaviana amin’ ny fiangonana ny isan’ ny babo izay azo, na olona, na biby fiompy;
“Count all the plundered things that were taken, both people and animals. You, Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the community's ancestor's clans
27 ary sasaho ny babo ho an’ izay niady, dia izay efa tany an-tafika, sy ho an’ ny fiangonana rehetra;
must divide the plunder into two parts. Divide it between the soldiers who went out to battle and all the rest of the community.
28 kanefa makà anjara ho an’ i Jehovah avy amin’ ny mpanafika izay nivoaka ho any an-tafika, dia iray isan-diman-jato, na olona, na omby, na boriky, na ondry aman’ osy;
Then levy a tax to be given to me from the soldiers who went out to battle. This tax must be one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, or goats.
29 ny antsasany izay azy no hanalanao izany ka homenao an’ i Eleazara mpisorona ho fanatitra alaina ho an’ i Jehovah.
Take this tax from their half and give it to Eleazar the priest for an offering to be presented to me.
30 Ary ny antsasany an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely kosa dia analao iray isan-dimam-polo, na olona, na omby, na boriky, na ondry aman’ osy, dia ny biby fiompy rehetra, ka omeo ho an’ ny Levita, izay mitandrina ny anjara-raharaha momba ny tabernakelin’ i Jehovah.
Also from the people of Israel's half, you must take one out of every fifty—from the persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, and goats. Give these to the Levites who take care of my tabernacle.”
31 Dia nataon’ i Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona izany, araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy.
So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
32 Ary ny babo sisa afa-tsy izay azon’ ny mpanafika, dia ondry aman’ osy dimy arivo amby fito alina sy enina hetsy,
Now the plunder that remained of what the soldiers had taken was 675,000 sheep,
33 sy omby roa arivo amby fito alina,
seventy-two thousand oxen,
34 sy boriky arivo amby enina alina,
sixty-one thousand donkeys,
35 ary olona, dia ny zazavavy izay tsy mbola nahalala lahy, roa arivo amby telo alina.
and thirty-two thousand women who had never slept with any man.
36 Ary ny antsasany izay anjaran’ ny efa tany an-tafika dia izao: ny isan’ ny ondry aman’ osy dia diman-jato amby fito arivo sy telo alina sy telo hetsy;
The half that was kept for the soldiers numbered 337,000 sheep.
37 ary ny anjaran’ i Jehovah avy tamin’ ny ondry aman’ osy dia dimy amby fito-polo sy enin-jato.
Yahweh's part of the sheep was 675.
38 Ary ny omby dia enina arivo amby telo alina; ary ny anjaran’ i Jehovah avy tamin’ ireo dia roa amby fito-polo.
The oxen were thirty-six thousand which Yahweh's tax was seventy-two.
39 Ary ny boriky dia diman-jato amby telo alina; ary ny anjaran’ i Jehovah avy tamin’ ireo dia iraika amby enim-polo.
The donkeys were 30,500 from which Yahweh's part was sixty-one.
40 Ary ny zazavavy dia enina arivo amby iray alina; ary ny anjaran’ i Jehovah avy tamin’ ireo dia roa amby telo-polo.
The persons were sixteen thousand women of whom Yahweh's tax was thirty-two.
41 Dia nomen’ i Mosesy an’ i Eleazara mpisorona ny anjara izay nalaina ho an’ i Jehovah, araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy.
Moses took the tax that was to be an offering presented to Yahweh. He gave it to Eleazar the priest, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
42 Ary avy tamin’ ny antsasany an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely, izay nozarain’ i Mosesy avy tamin’ ny mpanafika
As for the people of Israel's half that Moses had taken from the soldiers who had gone to war—
43 (fa ny antsasany an’ ny fiangonana dia ondry aman’ osy dimanjato amby fito arivo sy telo alina sy telo hetsy,
the community's half was 337,500 sheep,
44 sy omby enina arivo amby telo alina,
thirty-six thousand oxen,
45 sy boriky diman-jato amby telo alina,
30,500 donkeys,
46 ary olona enina arivo amby iray alina),
and sixteen thousand women.
47 ny antsasany an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely dia nanalan’ i Mosesy iray isan-dimam-polo, na olona, na biby fiompy, ka nomeny ho an’ ny Levita mpitandrina ny anjara-raharaha momha ny tabernakelin’ i Jehovah izany, araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy.
From the people of Israel's half, Moses took one out of every fifty, both of people and animals. He gave them to the Levites who kept care of Yahweh's tabernacle, as Yahweh had commanded him to do.
48 Ary ny mpifehy, izay nifehy ny miaramila, dia ny mpifehy arivo sy ny mpifehy zato, dia nanatona an’ i Mosesy
Then the officers of the army, the commanders over thousands and the captains over hundreds, came to Moses.
49 ka nanao taminy hoe: Ny mpanomponao efa naka ny isan’ ny mpanafika izay nofehezinay, ka tsy misy diso isa aminay na dia lehilahy iray akory aza;
They said to him, “Your servants have counted the soldiers who are under our command, and not one man is missing.
50 koa nitondra fanatitra ho an’ i Jehovah izahay, dia ny firavaka volamena efa azonay avy, dia fehin-tanana sy haba sy peratra fanombohan-kase sy kavina ary voavola, hanaovana fanavotana ho an’ ny ainay eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah.
We have brought Yahweh's offering, what each man found, articles of gold, armlets and bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for ourselves before Yahweh.”
51 Dia noraisin’ i Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona taminy ny volamena, dia firavaka voatefy avokoa.
Moses and Eleazar the priest received from them the gold and all the articles of craftsmanship.
52 Ary ny volamena rehetra tamin’ ny fanatitra nalain’ ny mpifehy arivo sy ny mpifehy zato ho an’ i Jehovah, dia sekely dimam-polo amby fiton-jato sy enina arivo sy iray alina
All the gold of the offering that they gave to Yahweh—the offerings from the commanders of thousands and from the captains of hundreds—weighed 16,750 shekels.
53 (fa ny mpanafika samy namabo ho an’ ny tenany).
Each soldier had taken plunder, each man for himself.
54 Dia noraisin’ i Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona ny volamena nomen’ ny mpifehy arivo sy ny mpifehy zato ka nentiny tao amin’ ny trano-lay fihaonana ho fahatsiarovana ho an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah.
Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from the commanders of thousands and captains of hundreds. They took it into the tent of meeting as a reminder of the people of Israel for Yahweh.
