< Nehemia 8 >
1 Ary rehefa tonga ny volana fahafito, dia samy tany an-tanànany avy ny Zanak’ Isiraely. Dia nivory tahaka ny olona iray izy rehetra ho eo an-kalalahana teo anoloan’ ny vavahadin-drano; ary niteny tamin’ i Ezra mpanora-dalàna izy mba ho entiny ny bokin’ ny lalan’ i Mosesy izay nandidian’ i Jehovah ny Isiraely.
All the people gathered themselves together as one man into the square that was before the Water Gate; and they spoke to Ezra the scribe to bring the scroll of the law of Moses, which YHWH had commanded to Israel.
2 Dia nentin’ i Ezra mpisorona ny lalàna tamin’ ny andro voalohany tamin’ ny volana fahafito ho eo anatrehan’ ny fiangonana, na lehilahy na vehivavy, mbamin’ izay rehetra efa mahahaino.
Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly, both men and women, and all who could hear with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month.
3 Dia novakina teo an-kalalahana teo anoloan’ ny vavahadin-drano izy hatramin’ ny vao maraina koa ka ambara-pitataovovonan’ ny andro, dia teo anatrehan’ ny lehilahy sy ny vehivavy mbamin’ izay efa mahahaino; ary ny olona rehetra dia nampandry sofina hihaino ny bokin’ ny lalàna.
And he read it before the square that was before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women, and of those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive to the scroll of the law.
4 Ary Ezra mpanora-dalàna nitsangana teo ambonin’ ny lampihazo fitoriana, izay efa natao ho fitoriana izany; ary Matitia sy Sema sy Anaia sy Oria sy Hilkia ary Mahaseia no nitsangana teo anilany ankavanana; ary Pedaia sy Misaela sy Malkia sy Hasoma sy Hasbadana sy Zakaria ary Mesolama no teo anilany ankavia kosa.
Ezra the scribe stood on a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Uriah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchijah, and Hashum, and Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
5 Dia nosokafan’ i Ezra teo imason’ ny olona rehetra ny boky (fa ambony toerana noho ny olona rehetra izy); ary rehefa nosokafany izany, dia nitsangana koa ny olona rehetra.
Ezra opened the scroll in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people; ) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:
6 Ary Ezra nisaotra an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitra lehibe; ary ny olona rehetra nanandra-tanana ka namaly hoe: Amena, Amena; dia niondrika izy sady niankohoka tamin’ ny tany teo anatrehan’ i Jehovah.
and Ezra blessed YHWH, the great God. All the people answered, "Amen, Amen," with the lifting up of their hands. They bowed their heads, and worshiped YHWH with their faces to the ground.
7 Ary Jesoa sy Bany sy Serebia sy Jamina sy Akoba sy Sabetahy sy Hodia sy Mahaseia sy Kelita sy Azaria sy Jozabada sy Hanana sy Pelaia ary ny Levita dia nampianatra ny olona ny lalàna; ary ny olona dia teo amin’ izay nitoerany ihany.
Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, the Levites, explained the law to the people, and the people stayed in their place.
8 Dia novakiny mazava ny teny tao amin’ ny bokin’ ny lalàn’ Andriamanitra, sady nohazavainy tsara ny heviny, ka dia azon’ ny olona tsara ny teny novakina.
They read in the scroll, in the law of God, distinctly; and they gave the sense, so that they understood the reading.
9 Ary Nehemia governora sy Ezra mpisorona, mpanora-dalàna, ary ny Levita izay nampianatra ny olona dia nanao tamin’ ny olona rehetra hoe: Masìna ho an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo ity andro ity; koa aza malahelo na mitomany. Fa nitomany ny olona rehetra raha nandre ny tenin’ ny lalàna.
Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites who taught the people, said to all the people, "This day is holy to YHWH your God. Do not mourn, nor weep." For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
10 Dia hoy izy taminy: Mandehana, hano ny matavy, ary sotroy ny mamy, dia mba anatero anjara izay tsy manan-javatra voavoatra; fa masìna ho an’ ny Tompontsika ity andro ity; koa aza malahelo ianareo, fa ny fifaliana avy amin’ i Jehovah no fiarovana mafy ho anareo.
Then he said to them, "Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved; for the joy of YHWH is your strength."
11 Ary ny Levita nampangina ny olona rehetra ka nanao hoe: Mangìna ianareo, fa masìna ity andro ity; koa aza malahelo ianareo.
So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, "Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be grieved."
12 Dia nandeha ny olona rehetra hihinana sy hisotro sy hanatitra anjara ho an’ ny sasany ary hifaly indrindra, satria azony tsara ny teny izay notorina taminy.
All the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared to them.
13 Ary nony ampitson’ iny dia vory teo amin’ i Ezra mpanora-dalàna ny lohan’ ny fianakaviana tamin’ ny olona rehetra sy ny mpisorona ary ny Levita mba handinika ny tenin’ ny lalàna.
On the second day were gathered together the heads of ancestral houses of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, to Ezra the scribe, even to give attention to the words of the law.
14 Dia hitany voasoratra teo amin’ ny lalàna, izay nampandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy, fa tokony hitoetra ao amin’ ny trano rantsan-kazo ny Zanak’ Isiraely amin’ ny andro firavoravoana amin’ ny volana fahafito,
They found written in the law, how that YHWH had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month;
15 ary tokony hampandre ny olona sy handefa teny mitety ny tanànany rehetra sy Jerosalema ka hanao hoe: Mandehana any an-tendrombohitra, ka makà sampan’ oliva sy sampan’ oliva maniry ho azy sy sampan-drotra sy sampan-drofia ary sampan-kazo be ravina hanaovana trano rantsan-kazo araka, ny voasoratra.
and that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, "Go out to the mountain, and get olive branches, and branches of wild olive, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written."
16 Dia nandeha ny olona ka naka, ary samy nanao trano rantsan-kazo ho azy teo amin’ ny tampon-tranony avy sy teo anatin’ ny tokotaniny avy sy teo anatin’ ny kianjan’ ny tranon’ Andriamanitra sy teo an-kalalahana teo akaikin’ ny vavahadin-drano ary teo an-kalalahana akaikin’ ny vavahadin’ i Efraima.
So the people went out, and brought them, and made themselves booths, everyone on the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of God's house, and in the broad place of the Water Gate, and in the broad place of the Ephraim Gate.
17 Eny, nanao trano rantsan-kazo avokoa ny fiangonana rehetra izay efa niverina avy tamin’ ny fahababoana, ka nipetraka tao anatiny izy; fa tsy mbola nanao toy izany ny Zanak’ Isiraely hatramin’ ny andron’ i Josoa, zanak’ i Nona, ka hatramin’ izany andro izany. Ary dia nisy fifaliana lehibe indrindra.
All the assembly of those who had come again out of the captivity made booths, and lived in the booths; for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that day the children of Israel had not done so. There was very great gladness.
18 Ary namaky ny teny tao amin’ ny bokin’ ny lalàn’ Andriamanitra isan’ andro isan’ andro izy hatramin’ ny andro voalohany ka hatramin’ ny andro farany. Ary nanao andro firavoravoana hafitoana izy; ary tamin’ ny andro fahavalo dia fara-fivoriana araka ny fanao.
Also day by day, from the first day to the last day, he read in the scroll of the law of God. They kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according to the ordinance.
