< Matio 20 >
1 Fa ny fanjakan’ ny lanitra dia tahaka ny lehilahy tompon-trano, izay nivoaka maraina koa hanakarama mpiasa ho any an-tanim-boalobony.
FOR the kingdom of heaven is like a man, the master of a family, who went out at break of day, to hire labourers into his vineyard.
2 Ary rehefa nifanekeny tamin’ ny mpiasa fa ho denaria isan’ andro ny karamany, dia nasainy nankany amin’ ny tanim-boalobony ireny.
And when he had agreed with the labourers at a denarius a day, he sent them into the vineyard.
3 Ary nivoaka tamin’ ny ora fahatelo izy, dia nahita ny sasany nitoetra foana tany an-tsena,
And going out about the third hour, he saw others standing in the market place unemployed.
4 ka hoy izy taminy: Mandehana koa ianareo hankany amin’ ny tanim-boaloboka, fa izay an-keviny marina dia homeko anareo. Ka dia lasa ireny.
And he said to them, Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatever is equitable, I will give it you. So they went.
5 Ary nivoaka tamin’ ny ora fahenina sy fahasivy indray izy ka nanao toy izany koa.
Again going out, about the sixth and ninth hour, he did after the same manner.
6 Ary rehefa tokony ho tamin’ ny ora fahiraika ambin’ ny folo dia nivoaka izy ka nahita ny sasany mitoetra eo, dia hoy izy taminy: Nahoana ianareo no mitoetra foana eto mandritra ny andro?
But about the eleventh hour, going out, he found others standing unemployed, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
7 Hoy izy taminy: Satria tsy nisy olona nanakarama anay. Dia hoy ralehilahy taminy: Mandehana koa ianareo mankany amin’ ny tanim-boaloboka.
They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith to them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatever is equitable, ye shall receive.
8 Ary rehefa hariva ny andro, dia hoy ny tompon’ ny tanim-boaloboka tamin’ ny mpitandrina ny raharahany: Antsoy ny mpiasa, ka aloavy ny karamany: atombohy amin’ ireo taoriana ka vao hatramin’ ireo voalohany.
Now when the evening came, the master of the vineyard said to his overseer, Call the labourers, and give them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.
9 Ary rehefa tonga ireo nokaramaina tamin’ ny ora fahiraika ambin’ ny folo, dia nahazo denaria misesy avy izy.
And when they came, who began about the eleventh hour, they received each a denarius.
10 Fa rehefa tonga ireo voalohany, dia nanantena hahazo mihoatra izy; kanjo samy denaria misesy avy ihany no azony.
But when the first came, they expected that they should receive more; and they also received every man a denarius.
11 Ary rehefa nahazo izany izy, dia nimonomonona tamin’ ny tompon-trano ka nanao hoe:
But when they received it, they murmured against the master of the family:
12 Ireo olona farany ireo dia niasa ora iray monja, kanefa nataonao mitovy aminay, izay niaritra ny fahatrotrahana sy ny hainandro.
saying, These last have wrought only a single hour, and thou hast put them on an equality with us, who have borne the burden and heat of the day.
13 Fa izy namaly ka nanao tamin’ ny anankiray amin’ ireny hoe: Ry sakaiza, tsy mba manao izay tsy marina aminao aho; tsy efa denaria va no nifanekenao tamiko?
But he answering, said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no injustice; did I not agree with thee for a denarius?
14 Raiso ny anao, ka mandehana; fa ilay farany dia tiako homena toraka ny anao koa.
Take then thine own, and begone: I chuse to give to this last even as to thee.
15 Tsy mahazo manao izay tiako amin’ ny ahy va aho? Ratsy va ny masonao, satria tsara aho?
Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
16 Dia toy izany, ny farany ho voalohany, ary ny voalohany ho farany.
Thus shall the last be first, and the first last; for many are called, but the elect are few.
17 Ary Jesosy, nony niakatra ho any Jerosalema, dia naka mangingina ny mpianatra roa ambin’ ny folo lahy ka niteny taminy teny an-dalana hoe:
And Jesus going up to Jerusalem, took his twelve disciples aside on the road, and said to them;
18 Indro, miakatra ho any Jerosalema isika; ary ny Zanak’ olona hatolotra ho amin’ ireo lohan’ ny mpisorona sy ny mpanora-dalàna, dia hohelohiny ho faty Izy
Lo! we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
19 ka hatolony amin’ ny jentilisa mba hataony ho fihomehezana sy hokapohiny sy hohomboany amin’ ny hazo fijaliana; ary amin’ ny andro fahatelo dia hatsangana indray Izy.
and shall deliver him to the Gentiles, to insult, and to scourge, and to crucify: and the third day he shall rise again.
20 Ary tamin’ izany dia nanatona an’ i Jesosy ny renin’ ny zanak’ i Zebedio mbamin’ ny zananilahy, dia niankohoka ka nangataka zavatra taminy.
Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children, with her sons, paying him obeisance, and petitioning a favour of him.
21 Ary hoy Izy taminy: Inona no irinao? Dia hoy ravehivavy taminy: Mandidia mba hipetrahan’ ireto zanako roa lahy ireto, ny anankiray ho eo amin’ ny ankavananao, ary ny anankiray ho eo amin’ ny ankavianao, ao amin’ ny fanjakanao.
Then he said to her, What is thy wish? She saith unto him, Tell me that these my two sons shall sit, the one at thy right hand, and the other at thy left, in thy kingdom.
22 Fa Jesosy namaly ka nanao hoe: Tsy fantatrareo izay angatahinareo; hainareo va ny misotro amin’ ny kapoaka izay efa hisotroako? Hoy izy roa lahy taminy: Hainay ihany.
Then Jesus answering said, Ye know not what ye ask. Can ye drink of the cup that I am going to drink, and be baptised with the baptism with which I am baptised? They say unto him, We are able.
23 Hoy kosa Izy taminy: Hisotro amin’ ny kapoakako tokoa ianareo; fa ny hipetraka eo an-tanako ankavanana sy eo an-tanako ankavia, dia tsy Ahy ny hanome izany; fa izay nanamboaran’ ny Raiko izany no homena.
And he saith unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of my cup, and with the baptism with which I am baptised, shall ye be baptised; but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, it is not in my power to bestow, but on those, for whom it was prepared by my Father.
24 Ary nony nandre izany izy folo lahy, dia tezitra noho ny nataon’ izy mirahalahy.
And the twelve, on hearing this, were filled with indignation against the two brethren.
25 Fa Jesosy niantso azy hankeo aminy ka nanao hoe: Fantatrareo fa ny andrianan’ ny jentilisa mampanompo azy tokoa, ary ny lehibeny manapaka azy fatratra.
But Jesus, calling them to him, said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority among them.
26 Fa tsy mba ho toy izany aminareo; fa izay te-ho lehibe aminareo dia ho mpanompo anareo;
But thus shall it not be with you. But whosoever will be a great man among you, let him be your servant;
27 ary izay te-ho ambony indrindra aminareo dia ho mpanomponareo.
and whosoever will be first, let him be your slave.
28 Fa tahaka izany, ny Zanak’ olona tsy tonga mba hotompoina, fa mba hanompo ka hanolotra ny ainy ho avotra hisolo ny maro.
Even as the Son of man came not to be waited upon, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
29 Ary raha niala tao Jeriko izy, dia nisy vahoaka betsaka nanaraka an’ i Jesosy.
And as they were going out of Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30 Ary, indreo, nisy jamba roa lahy nipetraka teo amoron-dalana, ary nony reny fa Jesosy no mandalo, dia niantso izy ka nanao hoe: Mamindrà fo aminay, ry Tompo, Zanak’ i Davida ô!
And, behold, two blind men sat by the road side, who hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, son of David!
31 Ary ny vahoaka niteny mafy azy mba hangina; fa vao mainka niantsoantso izy ka nanao hoe: Mamindrà fo aminay, ry Tompo, Zanak’ i Davida ô!
And the multitude checked them, that they should be silent; but they cried out the more, Have mercy on us, Lord, son of David.
32 Ary Jesosy nijanona, dia niantso azy ka nanao hoe: Inona no tianareo hataoko aminareo?
And Jesus standing called them, and said, What desire ye, that I should do for you?
33 Hoy izy taminy: Tompoko ô, ny mba hampahiratina ny masonay.
They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34 Ary Jesosy dia onena azy ka nanendry ny masony; ary nahiratra niaraka tamin’ izay izy, dia nanaraka an’ i Jesosy.
Then Jesus, moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes recovered sight, and they followed him.
