< Matio 2 >

1 Ary rehefa teraka Jesosy tao Betlehema an’ i Jodia, tamin’ ny andron’ i Heroda mpanjaka, indreo, nisy Magy avy tany atsinanana tonga tany Jerosalema ka nanao hoe:
Now when Yeshua [Salvation] was born in Bethlehem [House of Bread] of Judea [Praise] in the days of King Herod [Heroic], behold, Magi [Conjurer] (Persian King makers, Astrologers) from the east came to Jerusalem [City of peace], saying,
2 Aiza Ilay teraka ho Mpanjakan’ ny Jiosy? fa nahita ny kintany teny atsinanana izahay ka tonga mba hiankohoka eo anatrehany.
“Where is he who is born King of the Jews [Praisers]? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.”
3 Ary nony nandre izany Heroda mpanjaka, dia nangorohoro izy mbamin’ i Jerosalema rehetra.
When King Herod [Heroic] heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem [City of peace] with him.
4 Dia namory ny lohan’ ny mpisorona rehetra sy ny mpanora-dalàna tamin’ ny vahoaka izy ka nanontany ary hoe: Aiza mba no hahaterahan’ i Kristy?
Gathering together all the chief priests and Torah-Teachers of the people, he asked them where the Messiah [Anointed one] would be born.
5 Ary hoy ireo taminy: Ao Betlehema an’ i Jodia; fa izao no voasoratry ny mpaminany:
They said to him, “In Bethlehem [House of Bread] of Judea [Praise], for this is written through the prophet,
6 Ary ianao, ry Betlehema, tanin’ ny Joda, tsy dia kely indrindra ao amin’ ny andrianan’ ny Joda ianao tsy akory; Fa avy ao aminao no hivoahan’ izay anankiray ho Mpanapaka, Ka Izy no ho Mpiandry ny Isiraely oloko.
‘You Bethlehem [House of Bread], land of Judah [Praised], are in no way least among the princes of Judah [Praised]: for out of you shall come a governor, who shall shepherd my people, Israel [God prevails].’”
7 Dia nampaka ny Magy mangingina Heroda ka namototra fatratra taminy izay andro nisehoan’ ilay kintana.
Then Herod [Heroic] secretly called the Magi [Conjurer] (Persian King makers, Astrologers), and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared.
8 Dia naniraka azy hankany Betlehema izy ka nanao hoe: Andeha, fotory tsara ny amin’ ilay Zazakely; koa rehefa hitanareo Izy, dia ambarao amiko, mba hankanesako any koa hiankohoka eo anatrehany.
He sent them to Bethlehem [House of Bread], and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him.”
9 Ary rehefa nandre ny tenin’ ny mpanjaka izy ireo, dia lasa; ary, indro, ilay kintana hitany teny atsinanana nialoha azy mandra-pijanony teo ambonin’ izay nitoeran’ ny Zazakely.
They, having heard the king, went their way; and behold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, until it came and stood over where the young child was.
10 Ary nony nahita ny kintana izy, dia nifaly indrindra.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
11 Ary rehefa tafiditra tao an-trano izy, dia nahita ny Zazakely sy Maria reniny ka niankohoka teo anatrehany; ary nony efa nosokafany ny fitehirizan-drakiny, dia nanolotra zavatra ho Azy izy, dia volamena sy zava-manitra ary miora.
They came into the house and saw the young child with Mary [Rebellion], his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
12 Ary rehefa notoroan’ Andriamanitra hevitra tamin’ ny nofy izy tsy hiverina any amin’ i Heroda, dia lalana hafa no nalehany nody ho any amin’ ny fonenany.
Being warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod [Heroic], they went back to their own country another route.
13 Ary nony efa lasa nandeha ireo, indro, nisy anjelin’ ny Tompo niseho tamin’ i Josefa tamin’ ny nofy ka nanan hoe: Mifohaza ianao, ka ento ny Zazakely sy ny reniny, dia mandosira any Egypta, ary mitoera any ambara-pilazako aminao; fa Heroda efa hitady ny Zazakely hovonoiny.
Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of MarYah [Master Yahweh] appeared to Joseph [May he add] in a dream, saying, “Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt [Abode of slavery], and stay there until I tell you, for Herod [Heroic] will seek the young child to destroy him.”
14 Dia nifoha izy ka nitondra ny Zazakely sy ny reniny, raha mbola alina, dia lasa nankany Egypta;
He arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt [Abode of slavery],
15 ary nitoetra tany izy ambara-pahafatin’ i Heroda, mba hahatanteraka izay nampilazain’ i Jehovah ny mpaminany hoe: Nantsoiko hiala tany Egypta ny zanako.
and was there until the death of Herod [Heroic]; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by MarYah [Master Yahweh] through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt [Abode of slavery] I called my son.”
16 Ary nony efa fantatr’ i Heroda fa voafitaky ny Magy izy, dia tezitra indrindra izy ka naniraka namono ny zazalahy rehetra hatramin’ ny roa taona no ho midìna, izay tao Betlehema sy tamin’ ny manodidina rehetra, araka ny andro izay nofotorany fatratra tamin’ ny Magy.
Then Herod [Heroic], when he saw that he was mocked by the Magi [Conjurer] (Persian King makers, Astrologers), was exceedingly angry, and sent out, and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem [House of Bread] and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the Magi [Conjurer] (Persian King makers, Astrologers).
17 Dia tanteraka izay nampilazaina an’ i Jeremia mpaminany hoe:
Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah [Yah lifts up] the prophet was fulfilled, saying,
18 Nisy feo re tao Rama, dia fidradradradrana sy fitomaniana fatratra; Rahely nitomany ny zanany, Ary tsy azo nampiononina izy, satria lany ritra ireny.
“A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, weeping and great mourning, Rachel [Ewe sheep] is weeping for her children; and she wouldn’t be comforted, because they are no more.”
19 Ary rehefa maty Heroda, indro, nisy anjelin’ ny Tompo niseho tamin’ i Josefa tany Egypta tamin’ ny nofy ka nanao hoe:
But when Herod [Heroic] was dead, behold, an angel of MarYah [Master Yahweh] appeared in a dream to Joseph [May he add] in Egypt [Abode of slavery], saying,
20 Mifohaza ianao, ka ento ny Zazakely sy ny reniny, dia mankanesa any amin’ ny tanin’ ny Isiraely; fa efa maty izay nitady ny ain’ ny Zazakely.
“Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel [God prevails], for those who sought the young child’s life are dead.”
21 Dia nifoha izy ka nitondra ny Zazakely sy ny reniny, dia tonga tany amin’ ny tanin’ ny Isiraely.
He arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel [God prevails].
22 Fa rehefa reny fa Arkelaosy no nanjaka tany Jodia nandimby an’ i Heroda rainy, dia natahotra hankany izy; ary rehefa notoroan’ Andriamanitra hevitra tamin’ ny nofy izy, dia lasa nankany amin’ ny tany Galilia.
But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea [Praise] in the place of his father, Herod [Heroic], he was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he withdrew into the region of Galilee [District, Circuit],
23 Ary nony tonga tany izy, dia nonina tao amin’ ny tanàna atao hoe Nazareta, mba hahatanteraka izay nampilazaina ny mpaminany hoe: Hatao hoe Nazarena Izy.
and came and lived in a city called Nazareth [Branch, Separated one]; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene [person from Branch, Separated one].”
