Matio 17
1 Ary nony afaka henemana, Jesosy dia naka an’ i Petera sy Jakoba ary Jaona rahalahiny ka nitondra azy niakatra ho any an-tendrombohitra avo mba hitokana.
THEN six days after, Jesus taketh Peter, and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them into an exceeding high mountain apart.
2 Dia niova tarehy teo anatrehany Izy, ka ny tavany namirapiratra tahaka ny masoandro, ary ny fitafiany tonga fotsy tahaka ny mazava.
And he was transformed before them; and his face shone as the sun, and his garments were white as the light.
3 Ary, indreo, niseho tamin’ ny mpianatra Mosesy sy Elia, niresaka tamin’ i Jesosy.
And behold, there appeared to them, Moses and Elias talking with him.
4 Dia niteny Petera ka nanao tamin’ i Jesosy hoe: Tompoko, tsara raha mitoetra eto isika; koa raha sitrakao, aoka aho hanao lay telo eto: ny anankiray ho Anao, ny anankiray ho an’ i Mosesy, ary ny anankiray ho an’ i Elia.
Then Peter addressing him, said to Jesus, Lord, It is well that we are here; if it please thee, we will make here three tents; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5 Raha mbola niteny izy, indro, nisy rahona mazava nanarona azy ireo; ary, injao, nisy feo avy tao amin’ ny rahona nanao hoe: Ity no Zanako malalako Izay sitrako; Izy no henoy.
And while he was yet speaking, behold, a luminous cloud overshadowed them; and lo! a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom is my delight; hear him!
6 Ary nony nandre izany ny mpianatra, dia lavo niankohoka sady natahotra indrindra.
And the disciples hearing it, fell on their face, and were exceedingly affrighted.
7 Ary Jesosy nankeo aminy, dia nanendry azy ka nanao hoe; Mitsangàna, fa aza matahotra.
And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, be not affrighted.
8 Ary nony niandrandra izy ireo, dia tsy nahita olona, afa-tsy Jesosy irery ihany.
Then lifting up their eyes, they saw no person, but Jesus only.
9 Ary rehefa nidina avy tao an-tendrombohitra izy, dia nandrara azy Jesosy ka nanao hoe: Aza milaza amin’ olona ny fahitana, mandra-pitsangan’ ny Zanak’ olona amin’ ny maty.
And when they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, Tell no man the vision, until the Son of man is risen from the dead.
10 Ary ny mpianany nanontany Azy ka nanao hoe: Nahoana ary no ilazan’ ny mpanora-dalàna fa Elia tsy maintsy ho avy aloha?
And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then do the scribes affirm, that Elias must come first?
11 Ary Jesosy namaly ka nanao hoe: Elia dia avy ihany ka hampody ny zavatra rehetra.
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Elias indeed cometh first, and will reform all things.
12 Nefa lazaiko aminareo: Efa tonga sahady Elia; nefa ny olona tsy nahafantatra azy, fa nanao izay sitraky ny fony taminy. Dia tahaka izany koa no hampiaretany ny Zanak’ olona.
But I say unto you, That Elias is already come, and they knew him not, but have done by him whatsoever they chose: even so also must the Son of man suffer by them.
13 Dia fantatry ny mpianatra fa Jaona Mpanao-batisa no nolazainy taminy.
Then understood the disciples that he spake to them of John the Baptist.
14 Ary rehefa tonga teo amin’ ny vahoaka izy ireo, nisy lehilahy anankiray nanatona an’ i Jesosy, dia nandohalika teo anatrehany ka nanao hoe:
And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15 Tompoko, mamindrà fo amin’ ny zanako-lahy, fa mararin’ ny androbe izy ka mahantra tokoa; fa matetika izy no mianjera ao amin’ ny afo, ary matetika ao amin’ ny rano.
Lord, have compassion on my son, for he is a lunatic, and suffers grievously; for oftentimes he falleth into the fire, and often into the water.
16 Ary nitondra azy tamin’ ny mpianatrao aho, fa tsy nahay nahasitrana azy izy.
And I brought him to thy disciples, and they have not been able to cure him.
17 Ary Jesosy namaly ka nanao hoe: Ry taranaka tsy mino sady efa nivadika, mandra-pahoviana no hitoerako aminareo? Mandra-pahoviana no handeferako aminareo? Ento atỳ amiko izy.
Then Jesus answering, said, O generation, faithless, and perverse! how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him hither to me.
18 Ary niteny mafy azy Jesosy, dia nivoaka taminy ny demonia, ka sitrana ilay zazalahy tamin’ izay ora izay.
And Jesus rebuked him, and the devil came out of him; and the child was cured from that hour.
19 Dia nankao amin’ i Jesosy mangingina ny mpianatra ka nanao hoe: Nahoana izahay no tsy nahavoaka azy?
Then the disciples of Jesus coming privately, said, Why could not we cast it out?
20 Ary hoy Jesosy taminy: Noho ny fahakelezan’ ny finoanareo ihany; fa lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa: Raha manana finoana hoatra ny voan-tsinapy iray aza ianareo ka hiteny amin’ io tendrombohitra io hoe: Mifindrà erỳ, dia hifindra izy; ary tsy hisy tsy ho hainareo hatao.
Then said Jesus unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard, ye shall say to this mountain, Remove from hence, thither, and it will remove; and nothing will be impossible for you.
But this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
22 Ary raha nitoetra tany Galilia izy, Jesosy dia nilaza tamin’ ny mpianany hoe: Ny Zanak’ olona efa hatolotra ho eo an-tànan’ ny olona
And as they were returning into Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of men:
23 ka hovonoiny, nefa amin’ ny andro fahatelo dia hatsangana indray Izy. Ary dia nalahelo indrindra ireo.
and they shall kill him, and the third day he shall rise again. And they were grieved exceedingly.
24 Ary nony tonga tao Kapernaomy izy, dia nankeo amin’ i Petera ny mpandray ny antsasaky ny sekely ka nanao hoe: Moa ny mpampianatra anareo tsy mba mandoa ny antsasaky ny sekely va?
And when they came to Capernaum, they who receive the tax of two drachmas came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
25 Dia hoy Petera: Mandoa ihany Izy. Ary raha vao tafiditra tao an-trano Petera, dia nosakanan’ i Jesosy teny izy ka nataony hoe: Ahoana no hevitrao, ry Simona? Avy amin’ iza moa no andraisan’ ny mpanjaka etỳ an-tany fadin-tseranana sy vola hetra? Avy amin’ ny zanany va, sa avy amin’ ny olon-kafa?
He saith, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth receive customs and tax? from their own children, or from aliens?
26 Ary nony hoy Petera taminy: Avy amin’ ny olon-kafa, dia hoy kosa Jesosy: Dia afaka ary ny zanaka.
Peter saith to him, From aliens. Jesus saith unto him, In that case then the children are free.
27 Nefa andrao isika manafintohina azy, dia mankanesa ao amin’ ny ranomasina ianao, ka manjonoa; ary raiso izay hazandrano azo voalohany, ka rehefa sokafanao ny vavany, dia hahita vola sekely eo ianao; dia raiso izany, ka omeo azy ho avy amiko sy ianao.
But that we give them no offence, go unto the sea, and cast in a hook, and take the first fish which cometh up; and on opening his mouth, thou wilt find a stater, that take and give them for me and thee.
