Matio 16
1 Ary ny Fariseo sy ny Sadoseo nankeo aminy, dia naka fanahy Azy ka nangataka Azy haneho famantarana aminy avy any an-danitra.
And the Pharisees and Sadducees came and, testing him, made a request to him to give them a sign from heaven.

But in answer he said to them, At nightfall you say, The weather will be good, for the sky is red.
3 Ary nony maraina, dia hoy ianareo: Ho ratsy ny andro, fa mena sy manjombona ny lanitra. Fantatrareo ny hamantatra ny tarehin’ ny lanitra, fa ny famantarana ny fotoana dia tsy hainareo.
And in the morning, The weather will be bad today, for the sky is red and angry. You are able to see the face of heaven, but not the signs of the times.
4 Izay taranaka ratsy fanahy sy mijangajanga dia fatra-pitady famantarana; nefa tsy misy famantarana homena azy, afa-tsy ny famantarana ny amin’ i Jona ihany. Ary nandao azy Jesosy ka lasa.
An evil and false generation is searching after a sign; and no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah. And he went away from them.
5 Ary rehefa tonga teny am-pita ny mpianatra, dia nanadino hitondra mofo izy.
And when the disciples came to the other side they had not taken thought to get bread.
6 Ary hoy Jesosy taminy: Mihevera, ka mitandrema ianareo, fandrao azon’ ny masirasiran’ ny Fariseo sy ny Sadoseo.
And Jesus said to them, Take care to have nothing to do with the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
7 Dia niara-nisaina izy ka nanao hoe: Ny tsy nitondrantsika mofo angaha izany.
And they were reasoning among themselves, saying, We took no bread.
8 Ary Jesosy nahalala izany, dia nanao hoe: Nahoana ianareo, ry kely finoana, no miara-misaina satria tsy manana mofo?
And Jesus, seeing it, said, O you of little faith, why are you reasoning among yourselves, because you have no bread?
9 Tsy mbola mahafantatra va ianareo, ary tsy tsaroanareo va ny mofo dimy ho an’ ny dimy arivo, ka firy harona moa no nangoninareo?
Do you still not see, or keep in mind the five cakes of bread of the five thousand, and the number of baskets you took up?
10 na ny mofo fito ho an’ ny efatra arivo, ka firy sobiky moa no nangoninareo?
Or the seven cakes of bread of the four thousand, and the number of baskets you took up?
11 Ahoana no tsy ahafantaranareo fa tsy ny amin’ ny mofo no nolazaiko taminareo? Fa tandremo, fandrao azon’ ny masirasiran’ ny Fariseo sy ny Sadoseo.
How is it that you do not see that I was not talking to you about bread, but about keeping away from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?
12 Dia fantany fa tsy nasainy hitandrina izy, fandrao azo’ ny masirasira fanaovana mofo, fa andrao azon’ ny fampianaran’ ny Fariseo sy ny Sadoseo.
Then they saw that it was not the leaven of bread which he had in mind, but the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
13 Ary rehefa tonga tany amin’ ny faritanin’ i Kaisaria-filipo Jesosy, dia nanontany ny mpianany Izy ka nanao hoe: Ataon’ ny olona ho iza moa ny Zanak’ olona?
Now when Jesus had come into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he said, questioning his disciples, Who do men say that the Son of man is?
14 Dia hoy ireo: Hoy ny sasany: Jaona Mpanao-batisa; ary hoy ny sasany: Elia; ary hoy ny sasany: Jeremia, na anankiray amin’ ny mpaminany.
And they said, Some say, John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
15 Ary hoy Jesosy taminy: Fa ianareo kosa manao Ahy ho iza?
He says to them, But who do you say that I am?
16 Ary namaly Simona Petera ka nanao hoe: Hianao no Kristy, Zanak’ Andriamanitra velona.
And Simon Peter made answer and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 Dia namaly Jesosy ka nanao taminy hoe: Sambatra ianao, ry Simona Bar-jona; fa tsy nofo aman-drà no naneho anao izany, fa ny Raiko Izay any an-danitra.
And Jesus made answer and said to him, A blessing on you, Simon Bar-jonah: because this knowledge has not come to you from flesh and blood, but from my Father in heaven.
18 Ary Izaho milaza aminao koa: Hianao no Petera, ary ambonin’ ity vatolampy ity no haoriko ny fiangonako; ary ny vavahadin’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita tsy haharesy azy. (Hadēs g86)
And I say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock will my church be based, and the doors of hell will not overcome it. (Hadēs g86)
19 Homeko anao ny fanalahidin’ ny fanjakan’ ny lanitra; ka na inona na inona fehezinao eto ambonin’ ny tany dia hofehezina any an-danitra; ary na inona na inona vahanao etỳ ambonin’ ny tany dia hovahana any an-danitra.
I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever is fixed by you on earth will be fixed in heaven: and whatever you make free on earth will be made free in heaven.
20 Ary tamin’ izany dia nandrara ny mpianatra Izy mba tsy hilaza amin’ olona akory fa Izy no Kristy.
Then he gave orders to the disciples to give no man word that he was the Christ.
21 Hatramin’ izany no vao natoron’ i Jesosy ny mpianany fa tsy maintsy hankany Jerosalema Izy ka hampijalin’ ny loholona sy ny lohan’ ny mpisorona ary ny mpanora-dalàna, dia hovonoina, ary hatsangana amin’ ny andro fahatelo.
From that time Jesus went on to make clear to his disciples how he would have to go up to Jerusalem, and undergo much at the hands of those in authority and the chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and the third day come again from the dead.
22 Ary Petera nanohina Azy hitanila kely ka niteny mafy Azy hoe: Sanatria aminao izany, Tompoko! Tsy ho aminao tokoa izany!
And Peter, protesting, said to him, Be it far from you, Lord; it is impossible that this will come about.
23 Fa Izy nihodina ka niteny tamin’ i Petera hoe: Mankanesa ato ivohoko, ry Satana; fahatafintohinana amiko ianao, satria tsy misaina izay an’ Andriamanitra ianao, fa izay an’ ny olona.
But he, turning to Peter, said, Get out of my way, Satan: you are a danger to me because your mind is not on the things of God, but on the things of men.
24 Dia hoy Jesosy tamin’ ny mpianany: Raha misy olona ta-hanaraka Ahy, aoka izy handà ny tenany sy hitondra ny hazo fijaliany ka hanaraka Ahy.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him give up all, and take up his cross, and come after me.
25 Fa na iza na iza no ta-hamonjy ny ainy, dia hahavery azy; ary na iza na iza no hahavery ny ainy noho ny amiko, dia hahazo izany.
Because whoever has a desire to keep his life safe will have it taken from him; but whoever gives up his life because of me, will have it given back to him.
26 Fa inona moa no soa ho azon’ ny olona, raha mahazo izao tontolo izao, kanefa very ny ainy? Ary inona no homen’ ny olona ho takalon’ ny ainy?
For what profit has a man, if he gets all the world with the loss of his life? or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
27 Fa ho avy ny Zanak’ olona amin’ ny voninahitry ny Rainy, mbamin’ ny anjeliny, dia hamaly ny olona rehetra araka ny nataony.
For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he will give to every man the reward of his works.
28 Lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa: Misy ny sasany eto izay tsy mba hanandrana fahafatesana mandra-pahitany ny Zanak’ olona avy amin’ ny fanjakany.
Truly I say to you, There are some of those here who will not have a taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
