< Matio 11 >

1 Ary rehefa vitan’ i Jesosy ny nandidiany ny mpianany roa ambin’ ny folo lahy, dia niala teo Izy hampianatra sy hitoriteny any an-tanànan’ ny olona.
After Jesus had finished giving directions to his twelve Disciples, he left that place in order to teach and preach in their towns.
2 Ary rehefa ren’ i Jaona tao an-tranomaizina ny asa nataon’ i Kristy, dia naniraka ny mpianany izy
Now John had heard in prison what the Christ was doing, and he sent a message by his disciples,
3 hanao aminy hoe: Hianao va Ilay ho avy, sa mbola hafa no andrasantsika?
and asked —” Are you ‘The Coming One,’ or are we to look for someone else?”
4 Ary Jesosy namaly ka nanao taminy hoe: Mandehana ianareo, ka ambarao amin’ i Jaona izao renareo sy hitanareo izao:
The answer of Jesus to the question was — “Go and report to John what you hear and see —
5 Mahiratra ny jamba, ary afaka ny mandringa; diovina ny boka, ary malady ny marenina; atsangana ny maty, ary ny malahelo dia itoriana ny filazantsara.
the blind recover their sight and the lame walk, the lepers are made clean and the deaf hear, the dead, too, are raised to life, and the good news is told to the poor.
6 Ary sambatra izay tsy ho tafintohina noho ny amiko.
And blessed is the man who finds no hindrance in me.”
7 Ary nony lasa ireny, dia vao nilaza an’ i Jaona tamin’ ny vahoaka Jesosy ka nanao hoe: Hizaha inona no nivoahanareo nankany an-efitra? Volotara nohozongozonin’ ny rivotra va?
While these men were going back, Jesus began to say to the crowds with reference to John:
8 Sa hizaha inona no nivoahanareo? Olona mitafy soa va? Indro, ny mitafy soa dia ao an-tranon’ ny mpanjaka.
“What did you go out into the Wilderness to look at? A reed waving in the wind? If not, what did you go out to see? A man richly dressed? Why, those who wear rich things are to be found in the courts of kings!
9 Sa hizaha inona no nivoahanareo? Mpaminany va? Eny, hoy Izaho aminareo, sady mihoatra lavitra noho ny mpaminany izy.
What, then, did you go for? To see a Prophet? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a Prophet.
10 Izy no ilay voasoratra hoe: Indro, Izaho maniraka ny irako hialoha Anao, Izay hamboatra ny lalanao eo alohanao.
This is the man of whom Scripture says — ‘Behold, I am myself sending my Messenger before thy face, and he shall prepare thy way before thee.’
11 Lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa: Amin’ izay nateraky ny vehivavy tsy mbola nisy nitsangana izay lehibe noho Jaona Mpanao-batisa; nefa ny kely indrindra amin’ ny fanjakan’ ny lanitra dia lehibe noho izy.
I tell you, no one born of a woman has yet appeared who is greater than John the Baptist; and yet the lowliest in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
12 Ary hatramin’ ny andron’ i Jaona Mpanao-batisa ka mandraka ankehitriny ny fanjakan’ ny lanitra dia rombahina, ary ny mpandrombaka maka azy an-keriny.
From the time of John the Baptist to this very hour, the Kingdom of Heaven has been taken by force, and men using force have been seizing it.
13 Fa ny mpaminany rehetra sy ny lalàna dia naminany hatramin’ i Jaona.
For the teaching of all the Prophets and of the Law continued till the time of John;
14 Ary raha mety mandray ianareo, dia izy no ilay Elia izay ho avy.
and — if you are ready to accept it — John is himself the Elijah who was destined to come.
15 Izay manan-tsofina ho enti-mihaino, aoka izy hihaino.
Let him who has ears hear.
16 Fa tahaka ny inona no hanoharako ity taranaka ity? Tahaka ny ankizy madinika mipetraka eny an-tsena izy, izay miantso ny namany ka manao hoe:
But to what shall I compare the present generation? It is like little children sitting in the market-places and calling out to their playmates —
17 Efa nitsoka sodina taminareo izahay, nefa tsy nandihy ianareo, efa nanao feo fisaonana izahay, nefa tsy niteha-tratra ianareo.
‘We have played the flute for you, but you have not danced; We have wailed, but you have not mourned.’
18 Fa tonga Jaona tsy nihinana na nisotro, ka hoy ny olona: Manana demonia izy.
For, when John came, neither eating nor drinking, men said ‘He has a demon in him’;
19 Tonga ny Zanak’ olona mihinana sy misotro kosa, ka hoy ny olona: Indro, olona fatra-pitia hanina sy mpisotro divay, sakaizan’ ny mpamory hetra sy ny mpanota. Fa ny fahendrena dia hamarinin ny asany.
and now that the Son of Man has come, eating and drinking, they are saying ‘Here is a glutton and a wine-drinker, a friend of tax-gatherers and outcasts!’ And yet Wisdom is vindicated by her actions.”
20 Ary tamin’ izany dia vao niteny mafy ny tanàna izay nanaovany ny ankamaroan’ ny asany lehibe Izy, satria tsy nibebaka ireo, ka nanao hoe:
Then Jesus began to reproach the towns in which most of his miracles had been done, because they had not repented:
21 Lozanao, ry Korazina! Lozanao, ry Betsaida! fa raha mba tany Tyro sy Sidona no natao ny asa lehibe izay natao teo aminareo, dia ho efa nibebaka ela tamin’ ny lamba fisaonana sy ny lavenona ireny.
“Alas for you, Chorazin! Alas for you, Bethsaida! For, if the miracles which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 Fa lazaiko aminareo fa ho moramora kokoa ny ho amin’ i Tyro sy Sidona amin’ ny andro fitsarana noho ny ho aminareo.
Yet, I tell you, the doom of Tyre and Sidon will be more bearable in the ‘Day of Judgment’ than yours.
23 Ary ianao, ry Kapernaomy, hasandratra hatrany an-danitra va ianao? Hietry hatrany amin’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita ianao; fa raha mba tany Sodoma no natao ny asa lehibe izay natao teo aminao, dia ho naharitra ambaraka androany izy. (Hadēs g86)
And you, Capernaum! Will you ‘exalt yourself to Heaven’? ‘You shall go down to the Place of Death.’ For, if the miracles which have been done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have been standing to this day. (Hadēs g86)
24 Fa lazaiko aminareo fa ho moramora kokoa ny ho amin’ ny tany Sodoma amin’ ny andro fitsarana noho ny ho aminao.
Yet, I tell you, the doom of Sodom will be more bearable in the ‘Day of Judgment’ than yours.”
25 Tamin’ izany andro izany dia namaly Jesosy ka nanao hoe: Midera Anao Aho, Raiko, Tompon’ ny lanitra sy ny tany, fa nafeninao tamin’ ny hendry sy ny manan-tsaina izany zavatra izany ka nasehonao tamin’ ny zaza madinika.
At that same time Jesus uttered the words: “I thank thee, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, that, though thou hast hidden these things from the wise and learned, thou hast revealed them to the child-like!
26 Eny, Raiko; fa izany no sitraponao.
Yes, Father, I thank thee that this has seemed good to thee.
27 Ny zavatra rehetra natolotry ny Raiko Ahy; ary tsy misy mahalala tsara ny Zanaka, afa-tsy ny Ray; ary tsy misy mahalala tsara ny Ray, afa-tsy Zanaka sy izay tian’ ny Zanaka hanehoana Azy.
Everything has been committed to me by my Father; nor does any one fully know the Son, except the Father, or fully know the Father, except the Son and those to whom the Son may choose to reveal him.
28 Mankanesa atỳ amiko, ianareo rehetra izay miasa fatratra sy mavesatra entana, fa Izaho no hanome anareo fitsaharana.
Come to me, all you who toil and are burdened, and I will give you rest!
29 Ento ny ziogako, ka mianara amiko; fa malemy fanahy sady tsy miavona am-po Aho; dia hahita fitsaharana ho an’ ny fanahinareo ianareo.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly-minded, and ‘you shall find rest for your souls’;
30 Fa mora ny ziogako, ary maivana ny entako.
for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
