< Marka 8 >
1 Tamin’ izany andro izany, nony betsaka indray ny vahoaka teo sady tsy nanan-kohanina izy, dia nantsoin’ i Jesosy hanatona Azy ny mpianany ka nilazany hoe:
In those days the crowd once again became very large, and they had nothing to eat. Jesus called the disciples to Him and said,
2 Mahonena Ahy ireo vahoaka, fa hateloana izay no nitoerany tatỳ amiko, sady tsy manan-kohanina izy;
“I have compassion for this crowd, because they have already been with Me three days and have nothing to eat.
3 koa raha hampodiko ho any an-tranony mbola tsy nihinana izy, dia ho reraka eny an-dalana, sady avy lavitra ny sasany.
If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way. For some of them have come a great distance.”
4 Fa ny mpianany namaly Azy hoe: Aiza no hahazoana mofo atỳ an-efitra hahavoky ireto olona ireto!
His disciples replied, “Where in this desolate place could anyone find enough bread to feed all these people?”
5 Ary izy nanontany azy hoe: Misy mofo firy any aminareo? Ary hoy ireo: Fito.
“How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked. “Seven,” they replied.
6 Dia nasainy nipetraka tamin’ ny tany ny vahoaka; ary dia nandray ny mofo fito Izy, ka rehefa nisaotra, dia novakiny ka natolony ny mpianany mba harosony; dia narosony teny anoloan’ ny vahoaka izany.
And He instructed the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then He took the seven loaves, gave thanks and broke them, and gave them to His disciples to set before the people. And they distributed them to the crowd.
7 Ary nisy hazandrano madinika vitsy tao aminy; ka rehefa nanaovan’ i Jesosy fisaorana ireo, dia nasainy naroso teny anoloany koa.
They also had a few small fish, and Jesus blessed them and ordered that these be set before them as well.
8 Ary nihinana ny olona, ka dia voky; ary nangoniny ny sombintsombiny sisa tsy lany, ka nisy fito sobiky.
The people ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
9 Ary tokony ho efatra arivo ireo. Dia nampodiny izy.
And about four thousand men were present. As soon as Jesus had dismissed the crowd,
10 Ary niaraka tamin’ izay dia niondrana an-tsambokely Izy mbamin’ ny mpianany ka tonga tany amin’ ny fari-tanin’ i Dalmanota.
He got into the boat with His disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha.
11 Ary ny Fariseo nankany, dia niady hevitra taminy ary naka fanahy Azy ka nitady famantarana avy any an-danitra.
Then the Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus, testing Him by demanding from Him a sign from heaven.
12 Ary nisento mafy am-panahy Jesosy ka nanao hoe: Nahoana ity taranaka ity no mitady famantarana? Lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa fa tsy homena famantarana akory ity taranaka ity.
Jesus sighed deeply in His spirit and said, “Why does this generation demand a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
13 Ary nandao azy Izy, dia niondrana indray ka lasa nankeny am-pita.
And He left them, got back into the boat, and crossed to the other side.
14 Ary tsy tsaroan’ ireo ny hitondra mofo, ka tsy nisy teo an-tsambokely afa-tsy mofo iray ihany.
Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat.
15 Dia nananatra azy Izy ka nanao hoe: Mihevera, ka mitandrema ianareo, fandrao azon’ ny masirasiran’ ny Fariseo sy ny masirasiran’ i Heroda.
“Watch out!” He cautioned them. “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of Herod.”
16 Ary niara-nisaina izy ka nanao hoe: Ny tsy nitondrantsika mofo angaha izany.
So they began to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread.
17 Ary Jesosy nahalala izany, dia nanao taminy hoe: Nahoana ianareo no miara-misaina, satria tsy manana mofo? Tsy mbola mahazo an-tsaina na mahafantatra va ianareo? Efa mafy va ny fonareo?
Aware of their conversation, Jesus asked them, “Why are you debating about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Do you have such hard hearts?
18 Mana-maso, fa tsy mahita va ianareo? Ary manan-tsofina, fa tsy mandre va ianareo? Ary tsy mahatadidy va ianareo?
‘Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear?’ And do you not remember?
19 Raha ny mofo dimy no novakiko ho an’ ny dimy arivo, firy harona moa no sombintsombiny nangoninareo? Hoy ny mpianany taminy: Roa ambin’ ny folo.
When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of broken pieces did you collect?” “Twelve,” they answered.
20 Ary raha ny mofo fito ho an’ ny efatra arivo, firy sobiky moa no sombintsombiny nangoninareo? Dia hoy ny mpianany: Fito.
“And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls of broken pieces did you collect?” “Seven,” they said.
21 Ary hoy Izy taminy: Mbola tsy mahafantatra ihany va ianareo?
Then He asked them, “Do you still not understand?”
22 Ary tonga tany Betsaida izy; ary nisy nitondra lehilahy jamba teo amin’ i Jesosy ka nangataka taminy hanendry ilay jamba.
When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
23 Ary nitantana ilay jamba Izy ka nitondra azy teny ivelan’ ny tanàna; ary rehefa nororany ny masony, ka napetrany taminy ny tànany, dia nanontaniany hoe izy: Mahita zavatra va ianao?
So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then He spit on the man’s eyes and placed His hands on him. “Can you see anything?” He asked.
24 Dia niandrandra ralehilahy ka nanao hoe: Mahita ny olona aho: fa toa hazo ny fijeriko azy, saingy mamindra.
The man looked up and said, “I can see the people, but they look like trees walking around.”
25 Dia napetrany tamin’ ny masony indray ny tànany, dia nibanjina ralehilahy ka nahiratra tsara, ary hitany miharihary ny zavatra rehetra.
Once again Jesus placed His hands on the man’s eyes, and when he opened them his sight was restored, and he could see everything clearly.
26 Ary Jesosy nampody azy ho any an-tranony ka nanao hoe: Aza mankao an-tanàna.
Jesus sent him home and said, “Do not go back into the village.”
27 Ary Jesosy sy ny mpianany dia lasa nankeny amin’ ireny tanàna momba an’ i Kaisaria-filipo; ary nony teny an-dalana dia nanontany ny mpianany Izy ka nanao taminy hoe: Ataon’ ny olona ho iza moa Aho?
Then Jesus and His disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way, He questioned His disciples: “Who do people say I am?”
28 Ary izy nanao taminy hoe: Jaona Mpanao-batisa; fa hoy ny sasany: Elia; ary hoy ny sasany: Anankiray amin’ ny mpaminany.
They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.”
29 Ary Jesosy nanontany azy hoe: Fa ianareo kosa manao Ahy ho iza? Dia namaly Petera ka nanao taminy hoe: Hianao no Kristy.
“But what about you?” Jesus asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”
30 Ary nandrara azy rehetra Izy mba tsy hilazalaza Azy amin’ olona.
And Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about Him.
31 Dia nampianatra azy Izy fa ny Zanak’ olona tsy maintsy hijaly mafy ka holavin’ ny loholona sy ny lohan’ ny mpisorona ary ny mpanora-dalàna, dia hovonoiny, ary rehefa afaka hateloana, dia hitsangana indray Izy.
Then He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and that He must be killed and after three days rise again.
32 Ary naharihariny tsara no filaza izany teny izany. Ary Petera nanohina Azy hitanila kely, dia niteny mafy Azy.
He spoke this message quite frankly, and Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.
33 Fa Izy nihodina, dia nijery ny mpianany ka niteny mafy an’ i Petera hoe: Mankanesa ato ivohoko, ry Satana, satria tsy misaina izay an’ Andriamanitra ianao, fa izay an’ ny olona.
But Jesus, turning and looking at His disciples, rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”
34 Ary nantsoiny hanatona Azy ny vahoaka mbamin’ ny mpianany, dia hoy Izy taminy: Raha misy ta-hanaraka Ahy, dia aoka izy handà ny tenany sy hitondra ny hazo fijaliany ka hanaraka Ahy.
Then Jesus called the crowd to Him along with His disciples, and He told them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.
35 Fa na iza na iza no ta-hamonjy ny ainy, dia hahavery ary; ary na iza na iza no hahavery ny ainy noho ny amiko sy ny filazantsara, dia hamonjy izany.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and for the gospel will save it.
36 Fa inona no soa azon’ ny olona, raha mahazo izao tontolo izao aza, kanefa very ny ainy?
What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
37 Fa inona no homen’ ny olona ho takalon’ ny ainy?
Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
38 Fa na iza na iza no ho menatra Ahy sy ny teniko amin’ ity taranaka sady mijangajanga no manota ity, dia ho menatra azy kosa ny Zanak’ olona, raha avy amin’ ny voninahitry ny Rainy mbamin’ ny anjely masìna.
If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
