< Lioka 7 >

1 Ary rehefa vitan’ i Jesosy teo anatrehan’ ny olona izany toriteniny rehetra izany, dia nankany Kapernaomy Izy.
After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 Ary ny mpanompon’ ny kapiteny anankiray, izay malalany, dia narary efa ho faty.
A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death.
3 Koa raha nahare ny amin’ i Jesosy ilay kapiteny, dia naniraka loholon’ ny Jiosy hankeo aminy hangataka Azy mba ho avy ka hahasitrana ny mpanompony.
When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and save his servant.
4 Ary rehefa tonga teo amin’ i Jesosy ireo, dia nangataka mafy taminy ka nanao hoe: Miendrika ny hanaovanao izany izy,
When they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for you to do this for him,
5 satria tia ny firenentsika izy, sady izy no efa nanao ny synagoga ho antsika.
for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us.”
6 Ary Jesosy nandeha niaraka taminy. Ary rehefa efa mby teo akaikin’ ny trano Izy, ilay kapiteny dia naniraka sakaiza hitsena Azy ka nanao taminy hoe: Tompoko, aza manahirana ny tenanao Hianao; fa tsy miendrika hidiranao ao ambanin’ ny tafon-tranoko aho.
Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof.
7 Koa na dia ny tenako aza dia nataoko fa tsy miendrika hankeo aminao; fa mitenena ihany, dia ho sitrana ny ankizilahiko.
Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 Fa izaho koa mba lehilahy manan-dehibe ihany, ka manana miaramila izay feheziko; koa hoy izaho amin’ ny anankiray: Mandehana, dia mandeha izy, ary amin’ ny anankiray koa Avia, dia avy izy, ary amin’ ny mpanompoko: Ataovy izao, dia manao izy.
For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
9 Ary nony nahare izany Jesosy, dia gaga taminy; ary dia nitodika Izy ka nanao tamin’ ny vahoaka izay nanaraka Azy hoe: Lazaiko aminareo fa tsy mbola nahita finoana lehibe toy izany Aho, na dia tamin’ ny Isiraely aza.
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.”
10 Ary nony tafaverina tao an-trano ireo iraka ireo, dia hitany fa sitrana ilay mpanompo.
Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.
11 Ary taoriana kelin’ izany Jesosy dia nankany an-tanana atao hoe Naina; ary naniraka Azy ny mpianany sy ny vahoaka betsaka.
Soon afterwards, he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.
12 Ary rehefa mby teo akaikin’ ny vavahadin’ ny tanàna Izy, dia, indro, nisy fatin’ ny lehilahy anankiray nentina nivoaka, izay zanakalahy tokan’ ny reniny, sady mpitondratena ravehivavy; ary nisy vahoaka betsaka avy tao an-tanàna nanaraka azy.
Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only born son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.
13 Ary nony nahita an-dravehivavy ny Tompo, dia onena azy ka nanao taminy hoe: Aza mitomany.
When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Don’t cry.”
14 Ary nanatona Izy ka nanendry ny tranovorona, dia nijanona izay nilanja. Ary hoy Jesosy: zatovo, hoy Izaho aminao: Miarena.
He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”
15 Dia niarina ny maty sady niteny, ary dia natolony tamin-dreniny.
He who was dead sat up and began to speak. Then he gave him to his mother.
16 Ary raiki-tahotra ny olona rehetra ka nankalaza an’ Andriamanitra hoe: Mpaminany lehibe no efa mitsangana eto amintsika; ary Andriamanitra efa nitsinjo ny olony.
Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen amongst us!” and, “God has visited his people!”
17 Dia niely teny Jodia rehetra sy teny amin’ ny tany manodidina rehetra ny lazan’ i Jesosy ny amin’ izany zavatra izany.
This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea and in all the surrounding region.
18 Ary ny mpianatr’ i Jaona nanambara izany rehetra izany taminy.
The disciples of John told him about all these things.
19 Ary Jaona niantso ny mpianany roa lahy hankao aminy, dia naniraka azy hankany amin’ ny Tompo hanao hoe: Hianao va Ilay ho avy, sa mbola hafa no andrasantsika?
John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?”
20 Ary nony tonga tany aminy ireo lehilahy ireo, dia nanao hoe: Jaona Mpanao-batisa naniraka anay hankatỳ aminao hanao hoe: Hianao va Ilay ho avy, sa mbola hafa no andrasantsika?
When the men had come to him, they said, “John the Baptiser has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?’”
21 Ary tamin’ izany ora izany Jesosy dia nahasitrana olona maro tamin’ ny rofy sy ny aretina sy ny fanahy ratsy sady nampahiratra ny jamba maro.
In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.
22 Dia namaly Izy ka nanao taminy hoe: Mandehana ianareo, ambarao amin’ i Jaona izao hitanareo sy renareo izao; mahiratra ny jamba, afaka ny mandringa, diovina ny boka, malady ny marenina, atsangana ny maty, ary ny malahelo dia itoriana ny filazantsara.
Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
23 Ary sambatra izay tsy ho tafintohina noho ny amiko.
Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”
24 Ary rehefa lasa ny irak’ i Jaona, dia nilaza an’ i Jaona tamin’ ny vahoaka Jesosy ka nanao hoe: Hizaha inona no nalehanareo tany an-efitra? Volotara nohozongozonin’ ny rivotra va?
When John’s messengers had departed, he began to tell the multitudes about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
25 Sa hizaha inona no nalehanareo? Olona mitafy lamba soa va? Indro, ny mitafy lamba soa sy mihinana zava-py dia ao an-tranon’ ny mpanjaka.
But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are gorgeously dressed and live delicately are in kings’ courts.
26 Sa hizaha inona no nalehanareo tany? Mpaminany va? Eny, hoy Izaho aminareo, sady mihoatra lavitra noho ny mpaminany izy.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
27 Fa izy ilay voasoratra hoe: Indro, Izaho maniraka ny irako hialoha Anao, Izay hamboatra ny lalanao eo alohanao.
This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’
28 Lazaiko aminareo: Amin’ izay nateraky ny vehivavy tsy misy lehibe noho Jaona; nefa ny kely indrindra amin’ ny fanjakan’ Andriamanitra dia lehibe noho izy.
“For I tell you, amongst those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptiser; yet he who is least in God’s Kingdom is greater than he.”
29 Ary ny vahoaka rehetra sy ny mpamory hetra raha nandre, dia nanamarina an’ Andriamanitra, satria natao batisa tamin’ ny batisan’ i Jaona izy.
When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptised with John’s baptism.
30 Fa ny Fariseo sy ny mpahay lalàna kosa nandà ny fikasan’ Andriamanitra, satria tsy mba nanatona hataon’ i Jaona batisa izy.
But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God, not being baptised by him themselves.
31 Tahaka ny inona ary no hanoharako ny olona amin’ ity taranaka ity? tahaka ny inona moa izy?
“To what then should I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?
32 Tahaka ny ankizy madinika mipetraka eny an-tsena izy, izay mifampiantso hoe: Efa nitsoka sodina taminareo izahay, nefa tsy nandihy ianareo; efa nanao feo fisaonana izahay, nefa tsy nitomany ianareo.
They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, saying, ‘We piped to you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned, and you didn’t weep.’
33 Fa tonga Jaona Mpanao-batisa tsy nihinan-kanina na nisotro divay, ka hoy ianareo: Manana demonia izy.
For John the Baptiser came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
34 Tonga ny Zanak’ olona mihinana sy misotro kosa, ka hoy ianareo: Indro, olona fatra-pitia hanina sy mpisotro divay, sakaizan’ ny mpamory hetra sy ny mpanota.
The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
35 Fa ny fahendrena dia hamarinin’ ny zanany rehetra.
Wisdom is justified by all her children.”
36 Ary ny Fariseo anankiray nanasa an’ i Jesosy hiara-mihinana aminy; ary dia niditra tao an-tranon’ ilay Fariseo Izy ka nipetraka nihinana.
One of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered into the Pharisee’s house and sat at the table.
37 Ary, indro, nisy vehivavy mpanota tao an-tanàna, ka rehefa fantany fa Jesosy nipetraka nihinana tao an-tranon’ ilay Fariseo, dia nitondra tavoara alabastara feno menaka manitra izy;
Behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster jar of ointment.
38 ary nijanona teo ivohony tanilan’ ny tongony izy ka nitomany, dia nahakotsa ny tongony tamin’ ny ranomasony sy namaoka azy tamin’ ny volon-dohany, dia nanoroka fatratra ny tongony ka nanosotra azy tamin’ ny menaka manitra,
Standing behind at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 Ary nony nahita izany ilay Fariseo nanasa Azy, dia nanao anakampo hoe: Raha mpaminany Ity, dia ho nahalala io vehivavy manendry Azy io sy ny toeny; fa mpanota io.
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, “This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner.”
40 Ary Jesosy namaly ka nanao taminy hoe: Ry Simona, manan-kolazaina aminao Aho. Dia hoy izy: Lazao ary, Mpampianatra ô.
Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” He said, “Teacher, say on.”
41 Nisy roa lahy nananan’ ny mpampanàna vola anankiray trosa: ny iray nananany denaria diman-jato, ary ny iray kosa dimam-polo.
“A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 Ary raha tsy nanan-kaloa izy roa lahy, dia samy navelany. Koa iza moa amin’ ireo no ho tia azy indrindra?
When they couldn’t pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?”
43 Simona namaly ka nanao hoe: Ataoko fa ilay namoizany be. Dia hoy Izy taminy: Marina ny hevitrao.
Simon answered, “He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most.” He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”
44 Ary Jesosy nitodika nijery an-dravehivavy ka nanao tamin’ i Simona hoe: Hitanao va io vehivavy io? Niditra teto an-tranonao Aho; nefa tsy mba nanome Ahy rano hanasana ny tongotro ianao; fa izy kosa nahakotsa ny tongotro tamin’ ny ranomasony, dia namaoka azy tamin’ ny volon-dohany.
Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.
45 Tsy mba nanoroka Ahy akory ianao; fa izy, hatr’ izay nidirako, dia tsy mbola nitsahatra nanoroka fatratra ny tongotro.
You gave me no kiss, but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 Ny lohako tsy mba nohosoranao diloilo akory; fa izy kosa nanoso-menaka manitra ny tongotro.
You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Ary amin’ izany dia lazaiko aminao: Voavela ny helony be, fa be fitiavana izy; fa izay voavela tamin’ ny kely dia kely fitiavana.
Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”
48 Dia hoy Izy tamin-dravehivavy: Voavela ny helokao.
He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 Ary izay niara-nipetraka nihinana teo aminy dia niresaka hoe: Iza moa Ity no mba mamela heloka?
Those who sat at the table with him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 Ary hoy Izy tamin-dravehivavy: Ny finoanao efa namonjy anao; mandehana soa aman-tsara.
He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
