< Levitikosy 21 >

1 Ary Jehovah niteny tamin’ i Mosesy ka nanao hoe: Mitenena amin’ ireo mpisorona, zanak’ i Arona, hoe: Aoka ianareo tsy hisy hiditra am-paty eo amin’ ny fireneny,
The Lord told Moses, “Tell Aaron's sons, the priests: A priest is not to make himself unclean by touching the dead body of any of his relatives.
2 afa-tsy amin’ ny tahaka ny tenany, dia ny reniny sy ny rainy sy ny zananilahy sy ny zananivavy ary ny rahalahiny;
The only exceptions are for his immediate family. This includes his mother, father, son, daughter, or brother,
3 ary amin’ ny fatin’ ny anabaviny, izay tahaka ny tenany ihany koa sady tsy mbola manam-bady fa virijina, no ahazoany mandoto ny tenany.
or his unmarried sister since she is a close relative because she doesn't have a husband.
4 Tsy hiditra am-paty hametaveta ny tenany izy, satria andriana eo amin’ ny fireneny izy.
He must not make himself unclean for those only related to him by marriage—he is not to make himself ceremonially impure.
5 Tsy hanasola ny lohany izy, na hanaratra ny vaokany, na hitetika ny tenany.
Priests are not to shave bald spots on their heads, trim the sides of their beards, or cut their bodies.
6 Ho masìna ho an’ Andriamaniny izy ka tsy hanamavo ny anaran’ Andriamaniny; fa mpanatitra ny fanatitra atao amin’ ny afo ho an’ i Jehovah izy, dia ny hanin’ Andriamaniny, ka dia tokony ho masìna.
They must be holy to their God and not disgrace their God's reputation. They are the one who present the food offerings to the Lord, the food of their God. Consequently they must be holy.
7 Aoka tsy hanambady izay vehivavy mpijangajanga ka voaloto izy, ary aoka tsy hanambady vehivavy izay efa nisaoran’ ny lahy; fa masìna ho an’ Andriamaniny ny mpisorona.
A priest is not to marry a woman made unclean through prostitution or who is divorced by her husband, for the priest must be holy to his God.
8 Dia hamasino izy, fa ny hanin’ Andriamanitrao no ateriny; ho masìna aminao izy, fa masìna Aho Jehovah, Izay manamasìna anareo.
You shall consider him holy because he presents the food offerings to your God. He shall be holy to you, because I am holy. I am the Lord, and I chose you as my special people.
9 Ary raha ny zanakavavin’ ny mpisorona mandoto ny tenany amin’ ny fijangajangana, dia efa manamavo ny rainy izy ka hodorana amin’ ny afo.
A priest's daughter who makes herself unclean through prostitution makes her father unclean. She must be executed by burning.
10 Ary ny mpisoronabe, izay nalaina tamin’ ny rahalahiny, ka nanidinana ny diloilo fanosorana ny lohany, sady natokana hitafy ny fitafiana, dia aoka tsy hirakaraka volo, na handriatra ny fitafiany.
The high priest has the highest place among the other priests. He has been anointed with olive oil poured on his head and has been ordained to wear the priestly clothing. He must not leave his hair uncombed or tear his clothes.
11 Ary aoka tsy hiditra am-paty akory izy, ka tsy handoto ny tenany na dia amin’ ny rainy aman-dreniny aza.
He is not to go near any dead body. He must not make himself unclean, even it is for his own father or mother.
12 Ary aoka tsy hivoaka avy amin’ ny fitoerana masìna izy, na handoto ny fitoera-masin’ Andriamaniny; fa ny diademany, dia ny diloilo fanosoran’ Andriamaniny azy, no eo an-dohany: Izaho no Jehovah.
He must not leave to deal with someone who has died or make the sanctuary of his God unclean because he has been dedicated by the anointing oil of his God. I am the Lord.
13 Ary aoka hampakatra izay vehivavy mbola virijina izy.
He can only marry a virgin.
14 Fa ny maty vady, na ny efa nisaorana, na ny voaloto tamin’ ny fijangajangana, dia tsy azony hampakarina, fa virijina avy amin’ ny fireneny ihany no hampakariny.
He must not marry a widow, a divorced woman, or one made unclean through prostitution. He has to marry a virgin from his own people,
15 Ary aoka tsy hanao izay hahaloto ny taranany eo amin’ ny fireneny izy; fa Izaho Jehovah no manamasìna azy.
so that he doesn't make his children unclean among his people, for I am the Lord who makes him holy.”
16 Ary Jehovah niteny tamin’ i Mosesy ka nanao hoe:
The Lord told Moses,
17 Mitenena amin’ i Arona hoe: Izay rehetra misy kilema amin’ ny zanakao, amin’ ny taranany hatramin’ ny fara mandimby, dia aoka tsy hanakaiky fanatitra ny hanin’ Andriamaniny;
“Tell Aaron: These rules apply for all future generations. If any of your descendants has a physical defect, he is not allowed to come and present the food offerings of his God.
18 Fa izay rehetra misy kilema dia tsy mahazo manakaiky hanao izany na ny jamba, na ny mandringa, na ny petaka orona, na ny manana amby,
No man is allowed to do this if he has any defects, including anyone who is blind, crippled, facially disfigured, or has deformities,
19 na ny tapa-tongotra, na ny tapa-tanana,
anyone who has a broken foot or arm,
20 na ny vokoka, na ny sahozanina, na ny misy pentimpentina eo amin’ ny masony, na ny hatenina, na ny tsingaohina, na ny torotoro vihy.
anyone who is a hunchback or dwarf, or who has cataracts, skin sores or scabs, or a damaged testicle.
21 Ny olona rehetra amin’ ny zanak’ i Arona mpisorona izay misy kilema dia tsy mahazo manakaiky hanatitra ny fanatitra atao amin’ ny afo ho an’ i Jehovah; misy kilema izy ka tsy mahazo manakaiky hanatitra ny hanin’ Andriamaniny.
No descendant of Aaron the priest who has a defect is allowed to come and present the food offerings to the Lord. Because he has a defect, he must not come and offer the food of his God.
22 Ny hanin’ Andriamaniny, izay avy amin’ ny zavatra masìna indrindra sy ny zavatra masìna, dia azony hanina ihany;
He is still allowed to eat the food from the Most Holy Place of his God and also from the sanctuary,
23 kanefa tsy mahazo miditra ao anatin’ ny efitra lamba na manakaiky ny alitara izy, satria misy kilema, mba tsy handoto ny fitoerako masìna izy, fa Izaho Jehovah no manamasìna azy.
but because he has a defect, he is not allowed to go near the curtain or the altar, so that my sanctuary and everything in it are not made unclean, because I am the Lord who makes them holy.”
24 Ary Mosesy dia nilaza izany tamin’ i Arona sy ny zanany ary ny Zanak’ Isiraely rehetra.
Moses repeated this to Aaron and his sons, and to all the Israelites.
