< Fitomaniana 3 >
1 Izaho ilay lehilahy nahita fahoriana tamin’ ny tsorakazon’ ny fahatezerany.
I [, the one who am writing this, ] am a man who has been afflicted/punished [MTY] by Yahweh because he was angry.
2 Izaho no notarihiny sy nampandehaniny ho amin’ ny maizina, fa tsy ho amin’ ny mazava.
[It was as though] he caused me to walk in a very dark place without any light [at all].
3 Izaho ihany no asian’ ny tànany mandritra ny andro mandrakariva.
He has punished [IDM] me many times, all day, [every] day.
4 Nataony antitra ny nofoko sy ny hoditro, notapatapahiny ny taolako.
He has caused my skin and my flesh to become old. He has broken my bones.
5 Manorina izay hamelezany ahy Izy ary manemitra ahy amin’ ny zava-mangidy sy ny fahoriana.
He has surrounded me [DOU] with bitterness and suffering.
6 Ampitoeriny ao amin’ ny maizina toy izay efa maty fahagola aho.
[It is as though] he has buried me in a dark place like [SIM] [the graves of] those who have been dead for a long time.
7 Nofefeny manodidina aho ka tsy afa-nivoaka, nataony mavesatra ny gadrako.
[It is as though] [MET] he has built a wall around me, and fastened/tied me with heavy chains, and I cannot escape.
8 Ary na dia mitaraina sy minananana aza aho, dia tampenany ny fivavako.
Although I call out and cry out for him to help me, he does not pay attention to my prayers.
9 Vato voapaika no narafiny natampiny ny lalako, naolikoliny ny alehako.
[It is as though] he has blocked my path with a [high] stone [wall] and has caused my path to become crooked.
10 Tonga bera manotrika ahy Izy, ary toy ny liona ao amin’ ny fierena;
He has waited to attack me like [SIM] a bear or a lion hides and waits [to attack other animals].
11 Namily ny alehako Izy, ary noviravirainy aho ka nataony mahatsiravina.
[It is as though] he has dragged me off the path and (mauled me/torn me into pieces), and left me without help.
12 Nanenjana ny tsipìkany Izy ka nanangana ahy ho toy ny marika hokendrena zana-tsipìka.
[It is as though] [MET] he bent his bow and caused me to become the target [at which he shot] his arrows.
13 Nampitsatoka ny zana-tsipìkany tamin’ ny voako Izy.
[It is as though] he shot his arrows deep into my body.
14 Tonga fihomehezan’ ny fireneko rehetra aho sady ataony an-kira mandritra ny andro.
All my relatives laugh at me; all day, [every] day they sing songs that make fun of me.
15 Novokisany zava-mangidy aho ary nobobohany zava-mahafaty.
He has filled me with (bitterness/great suffering), [like] [MET] someone who drinks a very bitter liquid suffers.
16 Ary notorotoroiny tamin’ ny sila-bato ny nifiko, sady natsinkasinkasiny tamin’ ny lavenona aho.
[It is as though] he has caused me to chew gravel that broke my teeth, and he has trampled me in the dirt.
17 Ary noroahinao tsy hahita fiadanana ny fanahiko, ka efa hadinoko ny tsara.
Things no longer go well for me; I no longer remember being prosperous.
18 Dia hoy izaho: Levona ny faharetako sy ny fanantenako an’ i Jehovah.
I [continued to] say [to myself], “I no longer expect to live much longer; I no longer confidently expect [to receive good things] from Yahweh!”
19 Tsarovy ny fahoriako sy ny fanjenjenako, dia ny zava-mahafaty sy ny rano mangidy.
When I think about my suffering and my wandering [away from home], [it is like drinking] a very bitter [DOU] liquid.
20 Tsaroan’ ny fanahiko indrindra izany, ka mitanondrika ato anatiko izy.
I will never forget this time when I feel very depressed/discouraged [IDM].
21 Izany no ho eritreretiko ato am-poko, ka dia hanantena aho.
However, I confidently expect [Yahweh to do good things for me again] when I think about this:
22 Ny famindram-pon’ i Jehovah no tsy nahalany ritra antsika, fa tsy mitsahatra ny fiantrany.
Yahweh never stops faithfully loving [us], and he never stops being kind to us.
23 Vaovao isa-maraina izany; lehibe ny fahamarinanao.
[He is the one whom we can] always trust/lean on. Every morning he is merciful [to us again].
24 Jehovah no anjarako, hoy ny fanahiko, ka dia hanantena Azy aho.
[So] I say to myself, “Yahweh is all that I need; so I will confidently wait for him [to do good things for me].”
25 Tsara Jehovah amin’ izay manantena Azy, dia amin’ ny olona izay mitady Azy.
Yahweh is good to [all] those who depend on him, to those who seek his [help].
26 Tsara ny miandry ny famonjen’ i Jehovah amin’ ny fanginana.
[So] it is good for us to wait quietly for Yahweh to save/rescue [us].
27 Tsara amin’ ny olona ny mitondra zioga, raha mbola tanora izy.
And it is good for us to [patiently] endure [suffering] while we are young.
28 Aoka hanjokaiky irery izy ka hangina, raha ampitondraina izany.
Those [who seek his help] should sit by themselves, silently, [knowing that] it is Yahweh who has allowed/caused them to suffer.
29 Aoka hanohoka ny vavany eo amin’ ny vovoka izy, angamba hisy hantenaina.
They should lie in the dirt, with their faces on the ground, [because] they can still hope [that Yahweh will help them].
30 Aoka hanolotra ny takolany ho amin’ izay mamely azy izy ka ho feno latsa.
If someone strikes us on one cheek, we should turn the other cheek toward that person [in order that he may strike it, too], and accept/endure it when we are insulted.
31 Fa tsy hanary mandrakizay ny Tompo;
Yahweh does not abandon [us his people] forever.
32 Eny fa na dia mampahory aza Izy, dia mbola hiantra ihany araka ny haben’ ny famindram-pony.
Sometimes he causes us to suffer, but sometimes he is kind [to us] because he continually and faithfully loves [us].
33 Fa tsy sitrany ny mampahory na mampalahelo ny zanak’ olombelona.
And he is not happy about causing human beings to suffer or to be sad.
34 Ny fanitsakitsahana ny mpifatotra rehetra ambonin’ ny tany ho eo ambanin’ ny tongotra,
If people (mistreat all the prisoners/crush all the prisoners under their feet)
35 Ny familiana ny rariny amin’ ny olona eo anatrehan’ ny Avo Indrindra,
or if they rebel against God by refusing to give to people the things that it is right for them [to receive],
36 Ny famadihana ny adin’ ny olona, dia samy tsy sitraky ny Tompo.
or if they cause judges to decide matters unjustly, (does Yahweh not see all those things?/Yahweh certainly sees all those things!) [RHQ]
37 Iza moa no miteny, ka dia mahatonga izany, raha tsy zavatra efa nodidian’ ny Tompo?
No one can [RHQ] command something to happen [and then cause it to happen] if Yahweh has not already decided that it should happen.
38 Tsy avy amin’ ny vavan’ ny Avo Indrindra va no ivoahan’ ny soa sy ny loza?
God in heaven [MTY] is [RHQ] the one who causes disasters to happen, and he [also] causes good things to happen.
39 Koa ahoana no imonomononan’ ny olona mbola velona, fa no tsy aleo misento noho ny amin’ ny fahotany avy?
[So] it is certainly not [RHQ] right for us, who are only humans, to complain when he punishes us for the sins that we have committed.
40 Aoka isika handinika sy hamantatra ny alehantsika ka hiverina indray amin’ i Jehovah.
Instead, we should (examine/think carefully about) our behavior; we should turn back to Yahweh.
41 Aoka hasandratsika amin’ Andriamanitra any an-danitra ny fontsika sy ny tanantsika.
We should pray [IDM] sincerely and lift up our arms toward God in heaven, [and say, ]
42 Izahay efa nanota sy nanao ditra, ary Hianao kosa tsy namela heloka.
“We have sinned and rebelled [against you], and you have not forgiven [us].
43 Nisarona fahatezerana Hianao ka nanenjika anay; eny, novonoinao izahay, fa tsy niantranao.
You have surrounded us with your anger and pursued us; you have slaughtered [us] without pitying us.
44 Nisarona rahona Hianao, ka dia voasakana ny vavaka.
You have hidden yourself in a cloud, with the result that you do not hear [us] when we pray.
45 Nataonao tahaka ny fakofako sy ny zavatra nariana teo afovoan’ ny firenena izahay.
You have caused [the people of other] nations to consider us to be only garbage [DOU].
46 Ny fahavalonay rehetra misanasana vava aminay.
All our enemies have insulted us.
47 Mahavoa anay ny tahotra sy ny lavaka ary ny fandringanana sy ny fahatorotoroana.
We are constantly afraid [DOU], [because] we have experienced disasters and ruin [DOU].”
48 Rano mandriaka no mijononoka amin’ ny masoko noho ny faharatran’ ny oloko zanakavavy.
I cry a lot because my people have been destroyed.
49 Ny masoko mandrotsa-dranomaso ka tsy mijanona, eny, tsy misy fiatoana,
My tears continually flow; they will not stop
50 Ambara-pitazan’ i Jehovah ka ho tsinjony any an-danitra.
until Yahweh looks down from heaven and sees [us].
51 Ny masoko mampiditra fahoriana ho an’ ny fanahiko noho ny amin’ ny zanakavavin’ ny tanànako rehetra.
I am very grieved because of [what has happened to] the women of my city.
52 Izay fahavaloko tsy ahoan-tsy ahoana dia nanenjika ahy mafy hoatra ny fanenjika voron-kely.
Those who are my enemies hunted for me like [SIM] [people hunt for] a bird [to kill it] [even though] there was no reason [for them to do that].
53 Nanjera ahy tao an-davaka famoriandrano izy ka nitady hahafaty ahy sady nitora-bato ahy.
They threw me into a pit to kill me, and they threw stones on top of me.
54 Mandifotra ny lohako ny rano, ka dia hoy izaho: Maty aho ity!
The water [in the pit] rose above my head, and I said [to myself], “I am about to die/drown!”
55 Jehovah ô, niantso ny anaranao tany an-davaka lalina indrindra aho.
But from the bottom of the pit I cried out to you [MTY], “Yahweh, [help me]!”
56 Ny feoko dia efa renao, aza tampenana ny sofinao, raha mitaraina mitady izay mba hiainana kely aho.
I pleaded with you, “Do not refuse to heed [MTY] me while I cry out to you!”
57 Nanakaiky Hianao tamin’ ny andro niantsoako Anao, ka dia hoy Hianao: Aza matahotra.
Then you answered me and said, “Do not be afraid!”
58 Tompo ô, Hianao nandahatra ny adiko izay nikasika ny aiko, eny, nanavotra ny aiko Hianao.
Yahweh, you defended me; you did not allow me to die.
59 Jehovah ô, hitanao ny fitsarana miangatra natao tamiko, ka mba tsarao ny adiko.
[Now], Yahweh, you have seen the evil things that my enemies have done to me, [so] decide my case [and show that I am right]!
60 Hitanao ny famalian-dratsy rehetra ataon’ ireo, dia ny saina rehetra entiny mamely ahy
You know the evil things that they have planned to do to me.
61 Jehovah ô, efa renao ny latsa ataony, dia ny saina rehetra entiny mamely ahy,
Yahweh, you have heard them insult [me] and what they have planned to do to me.
62 Dia ny molotr’ izay mitsangana hanohitra ahy sy ny saina ataony mandritra ny andro hamelezana ahy.
Every day they whisper and mutter things about me, all day long.
63 Jereo ny fipetrany sy ny fitsangany, fa ataony an-kira aho.
Look at them! Whether they are standing or sitting they make fun of me with the songs that they sing.
64 Hovalianao araka ny asan’ ny tànany izy, Jehovah ô.
Yahweh, cause them to suffer in return for their causing [me] to suffer!
65 Eny, hohamaizininao ny fony, hihatra aminy ny ozonao.
Curse them [IDM] [for] their being very stubborn [IDM].
66 Henjehinao amin’ ny fahatezerana izy ka haringanao tsy ho etỳ ambanin’ ny lanitr’ i Jehovah.
Because you are angry with them, pursue them and get rid of them, [until none of them remain] on the earth.
