Josoa 24

1 Ary Josoa nanangona ny firenen’ ny Isiraely rehetra tany Sekema ka niantso ny loholon’ ny Isiraely sy ny lehibeny sy ny mpitsara azy ary ny mpifehy azy, ka dia niara-niseho teo anatrehan’ Andriamanitra izy ireo.

And Ioshua assembled againe all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called the Elders of Israel, and their heades, and their iudges, and their officers, and they presented themselues before God.

2 Ary hoy Josoa tamin’ ny vahoaka rehetra: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely: Tany an-dafin’ ny Ony no nonenan’ ny razanareo tany aloha, dia Tera, rain’ i Abrahama sy Nahora; ary nanompo andriamani-kafa izy.

Then Ioshua said vnto all the people, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt beyond the flood in olde time, euen Terah the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor, and serued other gods.

3 Dia naka an’ i Abrahama razanareo avy tany an-dafin’ ny Ony Aho ka nitondra azy nitety ny tany Kanana rehetra, dia nahamaro ny taranany ka nanome an’ Isaka ho zanany.

And I tooke your father Abraham from beyond the flood, and brought him through all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seede, and gaue him Izhak.

4 Ary Isaka koa dia nomeko an’ i Jakoba sy Esao ho zanany; ary nomeko ho lovan’ i Esao ny tendrombohitra Seïra; fa Jakoba sy ny taranany kosa nankany Egypta.

And I gaue vnto Izhak, Iaakob and Esau: and I gaue vnto Esau mount Seir, to possesse it: but Iaakob and his children went downe into Egypt.

5 Dia naniraka an’ i Mosesy sy Arona Aho ka namely an’ i Egypta, araka izay nataoko teo aminy; ary rehefa afaka izany, dia nitondra anareo nivoaka Aho.

I sent Moses also and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt: and when I had so done among them, I brought you out.

6 Ary nony nitondra ny razanareo nivoaka avy tany Egypta Aho, dia tonga teo amin’ ny ranomasina ianareo; ary nanenjika ny razanareo hatreo amin’ ny Ranomasina Mena ny Egyptiana, nitaingina kalesy sy soavaly.

So I brought your fathers out of Egypt, and ye came vnto the Sea, and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with charets and horsemen vnto the red sea.

7 Dia nitaraina tamin’ i Jehovah izy, ka nasiany maizina teo anelanelanareo sy ny Egyptiana, sady nakatony taminy ny ranomasina ka naony azy, ary ny masonareo nahita izay nataoko tany Egypta; ary nitoetra ela tany efitra ianareo.

Then they cryed vnto the Lord, and he put a darkenesse betweene you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea vpon them, and couered them: so your eyes haue seene what I haue done in Egypt also ye dwelt in the wildernesse a long season.

8 Ary nentiko ho any amin’ ny tanin’ ny Amorita, izay nonina tany an-dafin’ i Jordana ianareo; dia niady taminareo ireo; ary nanolotra azy teo an-tananareo Aho, mba handovanareo ny taniny, ary nandringana azy teo anoloanareo Aho.

After, I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt beyond Iorden, and they fought with you: but I gaue them into your hand, and ye possessed their countrey, and I destroyed them out of your sight.

9 Dia nitsangana Balaka, zanak’ i Zipora, mpanjakan’ i Moaba, ka niady tamin’ ny Isiraely; dia naniraka ka nampaka an’ i Balama, zanak’ i Beora, izy hanozona anareo.

Also Balak the sonne of Zippor King of Moab arose and warred against Israel, and sent to call Balaam the sonne of Beor for to curse you,

10 Fa tsy nety nihaino an’ i Balama Aho, koa nitahy anareo tokoa izy; ka dia namonjy anareo tamin’ ny tànany Aho.

But I would not heare Balaam: therefore he blessed you, and I deliuered you out of his hand.

11 Ary nita an’ i Jordana ianareo ka nankany Jeriko; dia niady taminareo ny mponina tao Jeriko mbamin’ ny Amorita sy ny Perizita sy ny Kananita sy ny Hetita sy ny Girgasita sy ny Hivita ary ny Jebosita, ka natolotro teo an-tananareo ireny.

And ye went ouer Iorden, and came vnto Iericho, and the men of Iericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hiuites and the Iebusites, and I deliuered them into your hand.

12 Dia nampandehaniko teo anoloanareo ny fanenitra, Izay nandroaka azy teo anoloanareo, dia ny mpanjaka roa tamin’ ny Amorita, fa tsy tamin’ ny sabatrao, na tamin’ ny tsipìkanao.

And I sent hornets before you, which cast them out before you, euen the two kings of the Amorites, and not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.

13 Ary nomeko tany izay tsy nasainareo ianareo sy tanàna izay tsy naorinareo ianareo ka dia nonina tao ianareo; ary nihinana ny avy amin’ ny tanim-boaloboka sy ny tanin’ oliva izay tsy nataonareo ianareo.

And I haue giuen you a land, wherein ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and yee dwell in them, and eate of the vineyards and oliue trees, which yee planted not.

14 Koa ankehitriny, matahora an’ i Jehovah, ka manompoa Azy amin’ ny fahitsiana sy ny fahamarinana; ary ario ny andriamanitra izay notompoin’ ny razanareo tany an-dafin’ ny Ony sy tany Egypta, ka manompoa an’ i Jehovah.

Nowe therefore feare the Lord, and serue him in vprightnesse and in trueth, and put away the gods, which your fathers serued beyonde the flood and in Egypt, and serue the Lord.

15 Nefa raha tsy sitrakareo ny hanompo an’ i Jehovah, dia fidionareo anio ary izay hotompoinareo, na ny andriamanitra izay notompoin’ ny razanareo tany an-dafin’ ny Ony, na ny andriamanitry ny Amorita, izay mponina teto amin’ ny tany onenanareo; fa raha izaho sy ny ankohonako kosa, dia hanompo an’ i Jehovah izahay.

And if it seeme euill vnto you to serue the Lord, choose you this day whome yee will serue, whether the gods which your fathers serued (that were beyond the flood) or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwel: but I and mine house will serue the Lord.

16 Dia namaly ny vahoaka ka nanao hoe: Sanatria raha hahafoy an’ i Jehovah izahay ka hanompo izay andriamani-kafa.

Then the people answered and saide, God forbid, that we shoulde forsake the Lord, to serue other gods.

17 Fa Jehovah Andriamanitsika, Izy no nitondra antsika sy ny razantsika nivoaka avy tany amin’ ny tany Egypta, tany amin’ ny trano nahandevozana, ary Izy no nanao ireny famantarana lehibe ireny teo imasontsika ka niaro antsika teny amin’ ny lalana rehetra nalehantsika sy teny amin’ ny firenena rehetra izay notetezintsika.

For the Lord our God, he brought vs and our fathers out of the lande of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and he did those great miracles in our sight, and preserued vs in all the way that we went, and among all the people through whome we came.

18 Ary Jehovah nandroaka ny firenena rehetra teo anoloantsika, dia ny Amorita izay nonina teto amin’ ny tany; koa izahay koa dia mba hanompo an’ i Jehovah, fa Izy no Andriamanitsika.

And the Lord did cast out before vs all the people, euen the Amorites which dwelt in the lande: therefore will we also serue the Lord, for he is our God.

19 Ary hoy Josoa tamin’ ny vahoaka: Tsy mahay manompo an’ i Jehovah ianareo; fa Andriamanitra masìna Izy, Andriamanitra saro-piaro Izy ka tsy hamela ny fahadisoanareo sy ny fahotanareo.

And Ioshua saide vnto the people, Ye can not serue the Lord: for he is an holie God: he is a ielous God: hee will not pardon your iniquitie nor your sinnes.

20 Raha mahafoy an’ i Jehovah ianareo ka manompo andriamani-kafa, dia hiverina Izy ka hampahory anareo sy hahafongana anareo, rehefa nasiany soa.

If yee forsake the Lord and serue strange gods, then he will returne and bring euill vpon you, and consume you, after that hee hath done you good.

21 Dia hoy ny vahoaka tamin’ i Josoa: Tsia; fa Jehovah ihany no hotompoinay.

And the people saide vnto Ioshua, Nay, but we will serue the Lord.

22 Dia hoy Josoa tamin’ ny vahoaka: Vavolombelona ho an’ ny tenanareo ianareo fa efa nifidy an’ i Jehovah hotompoinareo. Ary hoy ny olona: Eny vavolombelona izahay.

And Ioshua saide vnto the people, Yee are witnesses against your selues, that yee haue chosen you the Lord, to serue him: and they sayd, We are witnesses.

23 Arionareo ankehitriny ary ny andriamani-kafa, izay eo aminareo, ka ampanatony an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely ny fonareo.

Then put away nowe, saide he, the strange gods which are among you, and bowe your hearts vnto the Lord God of Israel.

24 Dia hoy ny vahoaka tamin’ i Josoa: Jehovah Andriamanitray no hotompoinay ary ny feony no hohenoinay

And ye people saide vnto Ioshua, The Lord our God wil we serue, and his voyce wil we obey.

25 Ary dia nanao fanekena tamin’ ny vahoaka Josoa tamin’ izany andro izany ka nanome azy lalàna sy didy tany Sekema.

So Ioshua made a couenant with the people the same day, and gaue them an ordinance and lawe in Shechem.

26 Dia nosoratan’ i Josoa tao amin’ ny bokin’ ny lalàn’ Andriamanitra ireo teny ireo, ary naka vato lehibe izy ka nanangana azy teo ambanin’ ny hazo terebinta, izay teo anilan’ ny fitoera-masin’ i Jehovah.

And Ioshua wrote these woordes in the booke of the Lawe of God, and tooke a great stone, and pitched it there vnder an oke that was in the Sanctuarie of the Lord.

27 Dia hoy Josoa tamin’ ny vahoaka rehetra; Indro, io vato io ho vavolombelona amintsika; fa efa nahare ny teny rehetra nolazain’ i Jehovah tamintsika io, dia ho vavolombelona aminareo io, fandrao handainga amin’ Andriamanitrareo ianareo.

And Ioshua saide vnto all the people, Beholde, this stone shall be a witnesse vnto vs: for it hath heard all the wordes of the Lord which he spake with vs: it shall be therefore a witnesse against you, lest yee denie your God.

28 Dia nampodin’ i Josoa ny vahoaka samy ho any amin’ ny lovany avy.

Then Ioshua let the people depart, euery man vnto his inheritance.

29 Ary rehefa afaka izany zavatra izany, dia maty Josoa, zanak’ i Nona, mpanompon’ i Jehovah, rehefa folo amby zato taona ny androny.

And after these things Ioshua the sonne of Nun, the seruaunt of the Lord died, being an hundreth and ten yeeres olde.

30 Dia nalevina tao amin’ ny faritanin’ ny lovany izy, dia tao Timnata-sera, any amin’ ny tany havoan’ i Efraima, avaratry ny tendrombohitra Gasa.

And they buried him in ye border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the Northside of mount Gaash.

31 Ary nanompo an’ i Jehovah ny Isiraely tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainan’ i Josoa sy tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainan’ ny loholona izay velona taorian’ i Josoa ka nahalala ny asa rehetra izay nataon’ i Jehovah ho an’ ny Isiraely

And Israel serued the Lord all the daies of Ioshua, and all the daies of the Elders that ouerliued Ioshua, and which had knowen all the workes of the Lord that he had done for Israel.

32 Ary ny taolan’ i Josefa, izay efa nentin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely avy tany Egypta, dia naleviny tao Sekema, tao amin’ ny tany izay novidin’ i Jakoba volafotsy zato tamin’ ny zanak’ i Hamora, rain’ i Sekema; dia tonga lovan’ ny taranak’ i Josefa izany.

And the bones of Ioseph, which the children of Israel brought out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem in a parcell of ground which Iaakob bought of the sonnes of Hamor the father of Shechem, for an hundreth pieces of siluer, and the children of Ioseph had them in their inheritance.

33 Dia maty koa Eleazara, zanak’ i Arona, ka naleviny teo amin’ ny havoan’ i Finehasa zanany, izay nomena azy tany amin’ ny tany havoan’ i Efraima.

Also Eleazar the sonne of Aaron died, whome they buried in the hill of Phinehas his sonne, which was giuen him in mount Ephraim.
