< Josoa 18 >
1 Dia nivory tao Silo ny fiangonana, dia ny Zanak’ Isiraely rehetra, ka nanangana ny trano-lay fihaonana tao. Ary ny tany dia resy teo anoloany.
The land had been subdued and lay before them. The Israelites gathered together at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting.
2 Ary nisy firenena fito tamin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely tsy mbola nahazo ny lovany.
However, seven of the Israelite tribes had not received their land allocations.
3 Dia hoy Josoa tamin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely: Mandra-pahoviana no hiahotrahoranareo tsy hiditra handova ny tany, izay omen’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razanareo, anareo?
So Joshua asked the Israelites, “How long will you go on being reluctant to go and take possession of the land that the Lord gave your forefathers?
4 Mandoava telo lahy avy isam-pirenena, dia haniraka azy aho, ary hiainga izy ka handeha hitety ny tany ka hanoratra azy araka ny ho lovany, dia hiverina atỳ amiko.
Choose three men from each tribe and I will send them out to explore the land. Then they can write a description regarding the land allocations and bring it to me.
5 Ary hizafa azy ho fito toko izy; ny Joda hitoetra any amin’ ny taniny ao atsimo, ary ny taranak’ i Josefa hitoetra any amin’ ny taniny ao avaratra.
They are to divide the land into seven parts, up to the boundary of Judah's land in the south and Joseph's land in the north.
6 Ary soratinareo ny tany ka ataovy fito toko; ary ento atỳ amiko ny soratra, dia hanao filokana ho anareo eto anatrehan’ i Jehovah Andriamanitsika aho.
Once you have written the description the land, dividing it in seven parts, you will bring it to me here and I will cast lots for you in the presence of the Lord our God.
7 Fa tsy mba manana anjara eo aminareo ny Levita; fa ny fisoronana amin’ i Jehovah no lovany; ary Gada sy Robena sy ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase efa nahazo ny lovany any an-dafy atsinanan’ i Jordana, izay nomen’ i Mosesy, mpanompon’ i Jehovah, azy.
But the Levites do not receive a share, for their role as priests of the Lord is their allocation. Also, Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received their allocation that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave them on the east side of the Jordan.”
8 Dia niainga ireo lehilahy ireo ka nandeha; ary Josoa nandidy izay nandeha hanoratra ny tany ka nanao hoe: Mandehana nitety ny tany, ka soraty izy, dia miverena atỳ amiko, ka eto Silo no hanaovako filokana ho anareo eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah.
As the men started out on their way to explore the land. Joshua told them, “Go throughout the land and write a description of what you find. Then return to me and I will cast lots for you in the presence of the Lord here in Shiloh.”
9 Dia lasa ireo lehilahy ireo ka nandeha nitety ny tany, dia nanoratra azy tamin’ ny taratasy, ka nataony fito toko, araka ny tanàna, ary dia tafaverina tany amin’ i Josoa tao an-toby tao Silo izy.
So the men went and explored the land and wrote down on a scroll a description of the seven parts, recording the towns in each part. Then they returned to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh
10 Ary Josoa dia nanao filokana ho azy tao Silo teo anatrehan’ i Jehovah; ary tao no nizaran’ i Josoa ny tany ho an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely araka ny fizarany.
where Joshua cast lots for them in the presence of the Lord. There Joshua divided the land up and allotted the different parts to the remaining Israelite tribes.
11 Dia nahazo ny loka ny firenena taranak’ i Benjamina isam-pokony; ary ny faritry ny tany azony dia teo anelanelan’ ny taranak’ i Joda sy ny taranak’ i Josefa.
The first lot cast went to the tribe of Benjamin, by families. The land allotted lay between that of the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Joseph.
12 Ary ny fari-taniny amin’ ny lafiny avaratra dia hatrany Jordana ka niakatra hatramin’ ny ilan’ i Jeriko amin’ ny avaratra, dia niakatra niankandrefana nahazo ny tany havoana, ka dia nihatra tamin’ ny efitr’ i Betavena,

The southern boundary began at the edge of Kiriath-jearim. It ran to the spring at Nephtoah,
16 dia nidina hatramin’ ny faran’ ny tendrombohitra, izay tandrifin’ ny lohasahan’ ny taranak’ i Hinoma, eo amin’ ny Lohasahan’ ny Refaïta eo avaratra, ka nidina hatramin’ ny lohasahan’ i Hinoma, hatramin’ ny ilany atsimon’ ny Jebosita, ka nidina hatrany En-rogela,
and then down to the foot of the mountain that faces the valley of Ben-hinnom, at the north end of the valley of Rephaim. Then it went down the valley of Hinnom, along the slope near the Jebusite town, south towards En-rogel.
17 dia nizotra avy any avaratra ka nandroso hatrany En-semesy sy Gelilota, izay tandrifin’ ny fiakarana Adomima, ka nidina hatramin’ ny vaton’ i Bohana, zanak’ i Robena,
From there it headed north to En-shemesh and on to Geliloth, opposite the heights of Adummim, and then on down to the Stone of Bohan (Reuben's son).
18 dia nandroso hatramin’ ny ilany avaratra tandrifin’ ny tani-hay ka nidina hatrany amin’ ny tani-hay.
Then it went along the ridge opposite the Jordan Valley to the north, and then down into the Jordan Valley itself.
19 dia nandroso hatramin’ ny ilany avaratr’ i Beti-hogla, ka dia nihatra tamin’ ny helo-drano avaratra amin’ ny Ranomasin-tsira, eo amin’ ny farany atsimo amin’ i Jordana; izany no lafiny atsimo.
From there it ran along the north slope of Beth-hoglah, ending at the north bay of the Salt Sea, the southern end of the Jordan. This was the southern boundary.
20 Ary Jordana no fari-taniny atsinanana. Izany no lovan’ ny taranak’ i Benjamina amin’ ny fari-taniny manodidina araka ny fokony.
The eastern boundary was the Jordan. These were the boundaries around the land of the tribe of Benjamin, by families.
21 Ary ny tanànan’ ny firenena taranak’ i Benjamina araka ny fokony dia Jeriko sy Beti-hogla ary ny lohasahan’ i Keziza
