1 Ary ny faritry ny tany azon’ ny taranak’ i Josefa tamin’ ny filokana dia hatrany Jordana tandrifin’ i Jeriko, dia tao amin’ ny ranon’ i Jeriko atsinanana, ka hatramin’ ny efitra izay fiakarana avy any Jeriko, mamaky ny tany havoan’ i Betela,

Then came out the lot, for the sons of Joseph, from the Jordan by Jericho, at the waters of Jericho, eastward, —the desert, going up from Jericho, through the hill country to Bethel;

2 dia hatrany Betela ka hatrany Lozy, ka nandroso hatramin’ ny fari-tanin’ ny Arkita hatrany Atarota,

and it goeth out from Bethel towards Luz, —and passeth over unto the boundary of the Archites at Ataroth;

3 dia nidina niankandrefana nahazo ny tanin’ ny Jafletita ka hatramin’ ny fari-tanin’ i Bedhorona ambany sy Gazera ka dia nihatra tamin’ ny ranomasina.

and descendeth westward, unto the boundary of the Japhletites, as far as the boundary of Bethhoron the nether, and as far as Gezer, —and the extensions thereof are to the sea.

4 Dia azon’ i Manase sy Efraima, taranak’ i Josefa, ny lovany.

So the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

5 Ary ny amin’ ny fari-tanin’ ny taranak’ i Efraima araka ny fokony, ny fari-taniny atsinanana amin’ ny lovany dia hatrany Atarot-adara ka hatrany Beti-horona ambony.

And the boundary of the sons of Ephraim, by their families, was, —yea the boundary of their inheritance on the east, was Ataroth-addar, as far as Beth-horon the upper;

6 Ary ny fari-taniny dia nandroso niankandrefana hatrany avaratr’ i Mikmeta, dia niolaka niantsinanana hatrany Tanata-silo ka nihoatra eo atsinanany hatrany Janoha,

and the boundary goeth out westward at Michmethath, on the north, then the boundary bendeth round easward, to Taanath-shiloh, —and passeth by it on the east to Janoah;

7 dia nidina hatrany Janoha ka hatrany Atarota sy Narata, dia nipaka tamin’ i Jeriko ary dia nihatra tany Jordana.

and goeth down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah, —and toucheth upon Jericho, and goeth out at the Jordan.

8 Ary hatrany Tapoa dia niankandrefana ny fari-tany hatramin’ ny lohasahan-driak’ i Kana, ka dia nihatra tamin’ ny ranomasina. Izany no lovan’ ny firenena taranak’ i Efraima araka ny fokony,

From Tappuah, runneth the boundary along westward, to the ravine of Kanah, and the extensions thereof are to the sea, —this, is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, by their families;

9 mbamin’ ny tanàna natokana ho an’ ny taranak’ i Efraima teo amin’ ny lovan’ ny taranak’ i Manase koa, dia ny tanàna rehetra mbamin’ ny zana-bohiny.

together with the cities which were separated for the sons of Ephraim, in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, —all the cities, with their villages.

10 Ary tsy nandroaka ny Kananita izay nonina tany Gazera izy; fa monina eo amin’ i Efraima ny Kananita mandraka androany ka ampanaovina fanompoana.

But they did not dispossess the Canaanites who were dwelling in Gazer, —so the Canaanites have dwelt in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and have become tributary servants.
