< Josoa 14 >
1 Ary izao no nolovan’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely teo amin’ ny tany Kanana, izay nampandovain’ i Eleazara mpisorona sy Josoa, zanak’ i Nona, ary ny loholon’ ny firenen’ i Zanak’ Isiraely;
This is what the children of Israel possessed in the land of Chanaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun, and the princes of the families by the tribes of Israel gave to them:
2 tamin’ ny filokana no nahazoany ny lovany, araka izay efa nandidian i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy ny amin’ ny firenena sivy sy sasany.
Dividing all by lot, as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses, to the nine tribes, and the half tribe.
3 Fa efa nomen’ i Mosesy lova tany an-dafin’ i Jordana ny firenena roa sy sasany; fa ny taranak’ i Levy tsy mba nomeny lova teo aminy.
For to two tribes and a half Moses had given possession beyond the Jordan: besides the Levites, who received no land among their brethren:
4 Fa firenena roa ny taranak’ i Josefa, dia Manase sy Efraima; ary tsy mba nomeny anjara teo amin’ ny tany ny taranak’ i Levy, afa-tsy ny tanàna honenany sy ny tany manodidina ny tanànany ho an’ ny omby aman’ ondriny sy ny fananany.
But in their place succeeded the children of Joseph divided into two tribes, of Manasses and Ephraim: neither did the Levites receive other portion of land, but cities to dwell in, and their suburbs to feed their beasts and flocks.
5 Araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy no nataon’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely, ka dia nizara ny tany izy.
As the Lord had commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel, and they divided the land.
6 Dia nankany amin’ i Josoa tany Gilgala ny taranak’ i Joda; ary Kaleba, zanak’ i Jefone, Kenizita, nanao taminy hoe: Fantatrao ny teny izay nolazain’ i Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy, lehilahin’ Andriamanitra, ny amiko sy ianao tany Kadesi-barnea.
Then the children of Juda came to Josue in Galgal, and Caleb the son of Jephone the Cenezite spoke to him: Thou knowest what the Lord spoke to Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Cadesbarne.
7 Efa-polo taona no andro niainako, fony aho nirahin’ i Mosesy, mpanompon’ i Jehovah, niala tany Kadesi-barnea hisafo ny tany; dia niverina aho nitondra teny taminy araka izay tao am-poko.
I was forty Bears old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Cadesbarne, to view the land, and I brought him word again as to me seemed true.
8 Kanefa ireo rahalahiko izay niara-niakatra tamiko dia nanaketraka ny fon’ ny olona; fa izaho kosa dia tanteraka tamin’ ny fanarahana an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao.
But my brethren, that had gone up with me, discouraged the heart of the people: and I nevertheless followed the Lord my God.
9 Dia nianiana tamin’ izany andro izany Mosesy ka nanao hoe: Ny tany izay nodiavin’ ny tongotrao dia ho lovanao sy ny taranakao tokoa mandrakizay, satria tanteraka tamin’ ny fanarahana an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitro ianao.
And Moses swore in that day, saying: The land which thy foot hath trodden upon shall be thy possession, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast followed the Lord my God.
10 Ary ankehitriny indro, efa namelona ahy Jehovah, araka izay nolazainy hatramin’ ny dimy amby efa-polo taona lasa izay, dia hatramin’ ny nilazan’ i Jehovah izany teny izany tamin’ i Mosesy no ho mankaty, raha mbola nandehandeha tany an-efitra ny Isiraely; ary ankehitriny, indro, efa dimy amby valo-polo taona aho izao.
The Lord therefore hath granted me life, as he promised until this present day. It is forty and five years since the Lord spoke this word to Moses, when Israel journeyed through the wilderness: this day I am eighty-five years old,
11 Nefa mbola matanjaka ihany aho izao tahaka ny tamin’ ny andro nanirahan’ i Mosesy ahy: tahaka ny tanjako tamin’ izany ihany no mbola tanjako ankehitriny mba hiady, na hivoaka, na hiditra.
As strong as I was at that time when I was sent to view the land: the strength of that time continueth in me until this day, as well to fight as to march.
12 Ary ankehitriny omeo ahy iry tendrombohitra iry, izay nolazain’ i Jehovah tamin’ izany andro izany; fa efa renao tamin’ izany andro izany fa nitoetra teo ny Anakita, sady nisy tanàna lehibe mimanda; angamba homba ahy Jehovah, dia haharoaka azy aho, araka izay nolazain’ i Jehovah.
Give me therefore this mountain, which the Lord promised, in thy hearing also, wherein are the Enacims, and cities great and strong: if so be the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to destroy them, as he promised me.
13 Dia nitso-drano azy Josoa ka nanome an’ i Hebrona ho lovan’ i Kaleba, zanak’ i Jefone.
And Josue blessed him, and gave him Hebron in possession.
14 Izany no nahatongavan’ i Hebrona ho lovan’ i Kaleba, zanak’ i Jefone, Kenizita, mandraka androany satria tanteraka tamin’ ny fanarahana an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, izy.
And from that time Hebron belonged to Caleb the son of Jephone the Cenezite, until this present day: because he followed the Lord the God of Israel.
15 Ary tanànan’ Arba no anaran’ i Hebrona taloha; ilay lehilahy vaventy tamin’ ny Anakita izany Arba izany. Dia nandry ny tany ka tsy nisy ady intsony.
The name of Hebron before was called Cariath-Arbe: Adam the greatest among the Enacims was laid there: and the land rested from wars.
