< Joba 34 >
1 Ary mbola niteny ihany Eliho ka nanao hoe:
Then Elihu continued,
2 Mandrenesa ny teniko, ianareo olon-kendry; Ary mihainoa ahy, ianareo manam-pahalalana.
“Listen to my words, you men who say you are wise; pay attention to what I'm saying you who think you know.
3 Fa ny sofina no mamantatra teny, Ary ny vava no manandrana hanina.
The ear distinguishes words just as the palate distinguishes foods.
4 Koa aoka izay rariny no hodinihintsika, ary aoka hiara-mamantatra izay tsara isika.
Let us discern for ourselves what is right: let us decide among ourselves what is good.
5 Fa Joba efa nanao hoe: Marina aho, saingy nesorin’ Andriamanitra tamiko ny rariny;
Job said, ‘I am innocent, and God has denied me justice.
6 Marina ny ahy, nefa ampandaingainy aho; Mahafaty ny zana-tsipìka mitsatoka amiko, na dia tsy manam-pahadisoana aza aho.
Even though I'm right, I'm treated like a liar; I am dying from my wounds, even though I've done nothing wrong.’
7 Aiza moa no misy lehilahy tahaka an’ i Joba, izay manaram-po amin’ ny famingavingana toy ny fisotro rano.
Has there ever been a man like Job with such a thirst for ridiculing others?
8 Ary tonga naman’ ny mpanao ratsy sady miara-mandeha amin’ ny ratsy fanahy?
He keeps company with wicked people; he associates with those who do evil.
9 Fa hoy izy: Tsy mahasoa ny olona ny mihavana amin’ Andriamanitra.
He's even said, ‘What benefit is there in being God's friend?’
10 Koa amin’ izany mihainoa ahy, ianareo manam-panahy: Lavitra an’ Andriamanitra ny hanao ratsy! Ary lavitra ny Tsitoha ny hanao meloka!
So listen to me, you men of understanding! It's impossible for God to do evil and the Almighty to do wrong.
11 Fa ny nataon’ ny olona ihany no ampanodiaviny azy, ka mamaly ny olona rehetra araka ny lalany avy Izy.
He pays people back for what they've done, and treats them as they deserve.
12 Eny tokoa, Andriamanitra tsy manao ratsy mihitsy, ary ny Tsitoha tsy mba mamadika ny rariny.
It's absolutely sure that God doesn't act wickedly; the Almighty would never pervert justice.
13 Iza moa no nanendry Azy ho Mpiadidy ny tany? Ary iza no nanorina izao tontolo izao?
Who put him in charge of the earth? Who gave him the responsibility for all the world?
14 Raha tàhiny ny tenany ihany no heveriny, ka hangoniny ho ao aminy ny fanahiny sy ny fofonainy,
If he were to withdraw his spirit, if he were to take back his breath,
15 Dia hiala avokoa ny ain’ ny nofo rehetra, ary hiverina amin’ ny vovoka ny olona.
all living things would immediately die and human beings would return to dust.
16 Raha manam-pahalalana ianao, dia mandrenesa izao, ka mihainoa ny teniko
If you have understanding then hear this; pay attention to what I'm saying.
17 Moa mahay mifehy va izay tsy tia rariny? Ary Ilay marina sady mahery va no hohelohinao?
Do you really think someone who hated justice could govern? Are you going to condemn Almighty God who always does what is right?
18 (Mety va ny miteny amin’ ny mpanjaka hoe: Olom-poana ianao! Ary amin’ ny zanak’ andriana: Ry ilay ratsy!),
He's the one who tells kings, ‘You're useless!’ or says to nobles, ‘You're wicked!’
19 Dia Ilay tsy mizaha ny tavan’ ny lehibe, ary tsy manaja ny ambony mihoatra noho ny ambany, satria samy asan’ ny tànany avokoa izy rehetra.
He doesn't think more of the rich than the poor, for they are all people he himself made.
20 Maty amin’ ny indray mipi-maso monja amin’ ny mamatonalina ireny; Eny, ringana ny olona ka tsy ao intsony; Ary ny mahery dia lasa tsy esorin-tanana.
They die in a moment; at midnight they shudder and pass away; the mighty are gone without effort.
21 Fa ny mason’ Andriamanitra dia mijery ny alehan’ ny olona, ary mahita ny diany rehetra Izy.
For he watches what they're doing and sees everywhere they go.
22 Tsy misy aizina na alim-pito, Izay hieren’ ny mpanao ratsy.
There is no darkness so deep where people who do evil can hide themselves from him.
23 Fa Andriamanitra tsy mba miandry aloha vao mandinika ny olona Izay tonga hotsaraina eo anatrehany.
God doesn't need to examine anyone in any greater detail that they should come before him for judgment.
24 Manorotoro ny olona mahery Izy, na dia tsy manadina aza, ka manangana olon-kafa hisolo azy.
He brings down the mighty without needing an investigation; he sets up others in their place.
25 Koa hita amin’ izany fa fantany ny asan’ ireo, ka dia mamono azy amin’ ny alina ho torotoro Izy.
Knowing what they've done he overthrows them in a night and destroys them.
26 Tehafiny tanana tahaka ny fanao amin’ ny ratsy fanahy ireo eo imason’ ny vahoaka.
He strikes them down for their wickedness in public where they can be seen
27 Izao no nialan’ ireo tamin’ Andriamanitra ka tsy nitandremany ny lalany akory,
because they turned away from following him, disregarding all his ways.
28 Dia ny mba hahatonga ny fitarainan’ ny malahelo eo anatrehany ka hampandre Azy ny fitarainan’ ny ory.
They made the poor call out to him, and he heard the cries of the oppressed.
29 Mangìna Izy, ka iza no mahay manameloka? Ary manafin-tava Izy (ka iza no mahajery Azy?), na amin’ ny firenena, na amin’ ny olona tsirairay,
Yet if God wants to remain silent, who can condemn him? If he chooses to hide his face, who can see him? Whether it concerns a nation or an individual,
30 Mba tsy hanjakan’ ny ratsy fanahy, ary tsy ho voafandrika ny vahoaka.
a person who rejects God should not rule so they don't mislead people.
31 Fa moa mba efa nisy niteny tamin’ Andriamanitra va nanao hoe: Efa nanandra-tena aho ka tsy hanao ratsy intsony;
If you were to say to God, ‘I have sinned, but I won't do bad things any more.
32 Izay tsy hitako mba ampianaro ahy; Raha nanao ratsy aho, dia tsy hanao intsony?
Show me what I cannot see. If I have done wrong, I won't do it again,’
33 Moa araka ny hevitrao va no hamaliany ny ataon’ ny olona, no efa nandà ianao? Fa ianao no mifidy, fa tsy izaho, koa izay fantatrao no ambarao.
then should God reward you for following your own opinions since you have rejected his? You're the one who has to choose, not me! Tell us what you think.
34 Ny olona manam-panahy hilaza amiko, ary ny olon-kendry izay mihaino ahy hanao hoe:
For people who understand—those who are wise who have heard what I said—will tell me,
35 Miteny tsy amim-pahalalana Joba, ary ny teniny tsy amim-pahendrena.
‘Job doesn't know what he's talking about. What he says doesn't make any sense.’
36 Enga anie ka hizahan-toetra mandrakariva Joba noho ny famaliana ataony araka ny fanaon’ ny ratsy fanahy!
If only Job were thoroughly condemned because he speaks like evil people do.
37 Fa ampiany fihaikana koa ny fahotany; Miteha-tanana eto amintsika izy ka manao teny maro ho enti-miady amin’ Andriamanitra.
Now he has added rebellion to his sins; he claps his hands at us, making long speeches full of accusations against God.”
