1 Dia namaly Bildada Sohita ka nanao hoe.

Then responded Bildad the Shuhite, and said: —

2 Fanapahana sy fampahatahorana no ao aminy, manao fihavanana any amin’ ny avo Izy.

Dominion and dread, are with him, who causeth prosperity among his lofty ones;

3 Azo isaina va ny miaramilany? Ary fahazavan’ iza no tsy ihoaran’ ny Azy?

Is there any number to his troops? And upon whom ariseth not his light?

4 Ary aiza no hahamarina ny zanak’ olombelona eo anatrehan’ Andriamanitra? Ary aiza no hadio izay tera-behivavy?

How then shall, a mortal, be just with GOD? Or how shall he be pure who is born of a woman?

5 Indro, ny volana aza tsy mangarangarana, ary ny kintana aza tsy madio eo imasony;

Look as far as the moon, and it is not clear, and, the stars, are not bright in his eyes!

6 Koa mainka fa ny olombelona, izay kankana, ary ny zanak’ olombelona, izay olitra.

How much less a mortal who is a creeping thing? Or a son of the earth-born who is a worm?
