< Joba 24 >
1 Nahoana no tsy misy fotoan’ andro voatendrin’ ny Tsitoha, ary nahoana no tsy hitan’ ny mahalala Azy izany androny Izany?
Why doesn't the Almighty set a definite time to punish the wicked? Why don't those who follow him never see him act in judgment?
2 Misy mamindra fari-tany sy mangalatra omby aman’ ondry sady miandry azy.
The wicked move boundary stones; they seize other people's flocks and move them to their own pastures.
3 Mandroaka ny borikin’ ny kamboty izy, ary maka ny ombin’ ny mpitondratena ho tsatòka.
They steal the orphan's donkey; they take the widow's ox as security for a debt.
4 Manosika ny mahantra hiala amin’ ny lalana izy, ka dia miery azy avokoa ny malahelo amin’ ny tany.
They push the poor out of their way; the destitute are forced to hide from them.
5 Indro, tahaka ny fivoaky ny boriki-dia any an-efitra no fivoak’ ireny ho amin’ ny asany hiremby; Ny tani-hay no ahazoany hanina ho an’ ny zanany.
Like wild donkeys in the desert, the poor have to scavenge for their food, looking for anything to feed their children in the wasteland.
6 Any an-tsaha izy maka vilona sy mitsimpontsimpona ny voaloboky ny ratsy fanahy.
They are forced to find what they can in other people's fields, to glean among the vineyards of the wicked.
7 Mandry mitanjaka amin’ ny alina izy, satria tsy manan-damba, ka dia tsy manana firakotra amin’ ny hatsiaka;
They spend the night naked because they have no clothes; they have nothing to cover themselves against the cold.
8 Kotsan’ ny ranonoram-baratra any an-tendrombohitra izy, ka mitampisaka amin’ ny vatolampy, fa tsy manam-pialofana.
They are soaked by the cold mountain storms, and huddle beside the rocks for shelter.
9 Misarika ny kamboty eo am-pinonoana izy ary maka tsatòka amin’ ny ory.
Fatherless children are snatched from their mother's breasts, taking the babies of the poor as security for a debt.
10 Mandeha mitsaitsaika ireo, fa mitanjaka tsy manan-kitafy, ary noana eo am-pitondrana ny amboaram-bary.
Because they have no clothes to wear they have to go naked, harvesting sheaves of grain while they themselves are hungry.
11 Manao diloilo eo anatin’ ny tambohon’ ny mpampahory azy izy; Ary manosihosy ny famiazam-boaloboka izy, nefa mangetaheta ihany.
In the olive groves they work to produce oil, but do not taste it; they tread the winepress, but are thirsty.
12 Mitrona ny lehilahy ao an-tanana, ary mitaraina ny fanahin’ ny voalefona; Nefa tsy ahoan’ Andriamanitra akory ny ratsy atao.
In the city the dying groan, and the wounded cry for help, but God ignores their prayers.
13 Ireny no mpikomy amin’ ny mazava; Tsy mba mihevitra ny lalany izy, na mitoetra eo amin’ ny alehany.
These are people who rebel against the light. They do not want to know its ways, or to stay on its paths.
14 Raha vao mangiran-dratsy, dia mifoha ny mpamono olona; Mamono ny ory sy ny malahelo izy, ary nony alina, dia tahaka ny mpangalatra.
The murderer gets up at dawn to kill the poor and needy, and when night falls he becomes a thief.
15 Ny mason’ ny mpijangajanga miandry ny maizimaizina, ka hoy izy: Tsy misy hahalala ahy ka dia manao very maso izy.
The adulterer waits for dusk, saying to himself, ‘No one will see me now,’ and he covers his face.
16 Misy manamy trano nony maizina; Nefa nony antoandro dia miery izy; Tsy mahalala ny mazava izy;
Thieves break into houses during the night and they sleep during the day. They don't even know what the light is like!
17 Fa ny aizim-pito no marainan’ ireo rehetra ireo; Satria efa mahazatra azy ny fampahatahoran’ ny aizim-pito izy.
Total darkness is like light to them, for they are familiar with the night.
18 Mitsinkafona paohin’ ny rano izy; Voaozona ny anjarany eo amin’ ny tany; Tsy mivily ho amin’ ny lalana mankeny amin’ ny tanim-boaloboka izy.
Like bubbles on the surface of a river they are quickly carried away. The land they own is cursed by God. They don't enter their own vineyards.
19 Toy ny andevonan’ ny maina sy ny mafana ny ranom-panala no andevonan’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita ny mpanota. (Sheol )
Just as heat and drought dry up snowmelt, so Sheol takes away those who have sinned. (Sheol )
20 Manadino azy ny vohoka; manjary hanim-py ho an’ ny olitra izy ka tsy tsarovana intsony; Ary tapaka tahaka ny hazo ny ratsy fanahy,
Even their mothers forget them, maggots feast on them, they are no longer remembered, and their wickedness becomes like a tree that is broken into pieces.
21 Dia ilay nandroba ny momba izay tsy niteraka ary tsy nanisy soa ny mpitondratena.
They mistreat childless women and are mean to widows.
22 Kanefa halavain’ Andriamanitra amin’ ny heriny ny andron’ ny olo-mahery; Mitsangana indray ireo, na dia tsy nanampo izay ho velona intsony aza.
God prolongs the life of the wicked by his power; but when they arise, they have no assurance of life.
23 Ataony mandry fahizay sy tsara tohana izy, sady tsinjoviny mandrakariva ny lalany.
He supports them and gives them security, but he is always watching what they're doing.
24 Nasandratra izy, kanjo vetivety dia tsy ao intsony, dia mihalevona izy ka otazana tahaka ny olona rehetra, ary tangosana tahaka ny salohim-bary.
Though they may be illustrious for a while, soon they are gone. They are brought down like all others, cut off like the heads of grain.
25 Raha tsy izany, dia aoka hisy hamaky lainga ahy ka hampiseho ny teniko ho tsinontsinona.
If this isn't so, who can prove I'm a liar and there's nothing to what I say?”
