< Joba 21 >

1 Dia namaly Joba ka nanao hoe:
Job replied,
2 Mihainoa dia mihainoa ny teniko, Ary aoka izany no ho fampiononanareo ahy.
“Please listen carefully to what I say—that would be one comfort you could give me.
3 Mandefera amiko ianareo, fa mba hiteny kosa aho izao; Ary rehefa tapitra ny teniko, dia mandatsalatsà ihany indray ianareo.
Bear with me; let me speak. After I've spoken you can resume mocking me.
4 Raha ny amiko, moa ny ataon’ ny olona va no itarainako? Ary raha izany, nahoana no hahalefitra ny fanahiko?
Am I complaining against people? Of course not. Why shouldn't I be impatient?
5 Jereo aho, dia aoka ho talanjona ianareo, ary mitampena vava.
Just take a look at me. Aren't you appalled? Cover your mouth with your hand in shock!
6 Eny, raha mahatsiaro izany aho, dia raiki-tahotra, sady toran-kovitra ny tenako:
Every time I think of what's happened to me I am horrified and I shake all over with fear.
7 Nahoana no velona ny ratsy fanahy ka sady tratrantitra no be hery?
Why do the wicked continue to live, to grow old and increasingly powerful?
8 Ny zanany koa mitomoetra tsara eo anatrehany, ary ny zafiny eo anoloany.
Their children are with them; they watch their grandchildren grow up.
9 Ny ankohonany miadana ka tsy manan-tahotra, ary ny tsorakazon’ Andriamanitra tsy mamely azy.
They live in their homes in safety—they are not afraid. God does not use his rod to beat them.
10 Ny ombilahiny mampiteraka ka mahavanona; Ny ombivaviny miteraka ka tsy mamotsotra.
Their bulls always breed successfully; their cows give birth to calves and do not miscarry.
11 Mamoaka ny zanany madinika toy ny ondry aman’ osy izy, ka mikoriana ny zanany.
They send out their little ones like lambs to play; their children dance around.
12 Mihoby mitondra ampongatapaka sy lokanga izy ary mifaly amin’ ny feon-tsodina.
They sing accompanied by the tambourine and lyre; they celebrate with the music of the flute.
13 Mandany ny androny amin’ ny fahafinaretana izy; Amin’ ny indray mipi-maso monja no idinany any amin’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita. (Sheol h7585)
They live out their lives contentedly, and go down to Sheol in peace. (Sheol h7585)
14 Kanefa anie ireo no manao amin’ Andriamanitra hoe: Mialà aminay! Fa tsy mba irinay ny hahalala ny lalanao.
Yet they tell God, ‘Get lost! We don't want anything to do with you.
15 Zinona izay Tsitoha, no hotompoinay? Ary inona no soa ho azonay, raha mivavaka aminy?
Who does the Almighty think he is for us to serve him as slaves? What benefit is there for us if we pray to him?’
16 Indro, tsy avy amin’ ny tenany ihany ny fahafinaretany! Ho lavitra ahy anie ny fisainan’ ny ratsy fanahy!
Such people believe they make their own fortune, but I don't accept their way of thinking.
17 Indraindray foana no mba maty ny jiron’ ny ratsy fanahy, sy tonga ny loza manjo azy. Ary amelaran’ Andriamanitra fandrika ireny noho ny fahatezerany,
How often is the lamp of the wicked snuffed out? How often does disaster come upon them? How often does God punish the wicked in his anger?
18 Ka tonga tahaka ny mololo voatetika indaosin’ ny rivotra izy sy tahaka ny akofa entin’ ny tafio-drivotra.
Are they blown along like straw in the wind? Does a tornado come in and carry them away?
19 Andriamanitra, hoy ianareo, mbola hampijaly ny zanany noho ny helodrainy! Tsia; fa ny tenan’ ireny ihany no aoka hovaliany, mba hahalalany.
Some say, ‘God saves up people's punishment for their children.’ But I say, ‘God should punish those people themselves so that they can learn from it.’
20 Aoka ny masony ihany no hahita ny loza manjo azy, ary aoka ny tenany ihany no hisotro ny fahatezeran’ ny Tsitoha.
Let them see their destruction themselves, and drink deeply from God's anger.
21 Fa mampaninona azy moa ny amin’ ny taranany mandimby azy, raha tapaka ny isan’ ny androny?
For they don't care what happens to their families once they're dead.
22 Moa Andriamanitra va no hampianarim-pahalalana, nefa Izy no mitsara ny any an-danitra aza?
Can anyone teach God anything he doesn't already know, since he is the one who judges even heavenly beings?
23 Maty ny anankiray, raha tsy mbola mihena ny fahatanjahany, sady miadana tokoa ka tsy manana ahiahy;
One person dies in good health, totally comfortable and secure.
24 Feno ronono ny fitoeran-drononony, ary vonton-tsoka ny taolany.
Their body is fat from eating well; their bones still strong.
25 Ary ny anankiray maty amin’ ny fahorian’ ny fanahiny kosa ka tsy mba nanandrana soa akory.
Another dies after a miserable life without every experiencing happiness.
26 Samy mandry ao amin’ ny vovoka izy roa tonta, ka feno olitra ny tenany.
Yet they are both buried in the same dust; they are treated alike in death, eaten by maggots.
27 Indro, fantatro ny hevitrareo sy ny saim-petsy amelezanareo ahy;
Look, I know what you're thinking, and your schemes to do me wrong.
28 Fa hoy ianareo: Aiza ny tranon’ ny mpitohatoha? Ary aiza ny lay fitoeran’ ny ratsy fanahy?
You may ask me, ‘Where is the home of the great man? Where is the place where the wicked live?’
29 Kanefa tsy mba nanontany tamin’ ny mpandeha amin’ ny tany lavitra va ianareo? Ary tsy heverinareo va ny zava-mahagaga, ambaran’ Ireo hoe:
Haven't you asked people who travel? Don't you pay attention to what they tell you?
30 Amin’ ny andro hahitan-doza dia voaaro ihany ny ratsy fanahy, ary amin’ ny andro fahatezerana dia enti-miala izy?
Wicked people are spared in times of disaster; they are rescued from the day of judgment.
31 Iza no hanambara ny lalany eo anatrehany? Ary raha misy zavatra nataony, iza no sahy hamaly azy?
Who confronts them with their actions? Who pays them back for what they have done?
32 Ary ho entina ho eny an-tany fandevonana izy ka mbola hitazana ao am-pasana;
When they eventually die and are carried to the graveyard, their tomb is guarded. The earth of the grave softly covers them.
33 Ho mamy aminy ny bainga any an-dohasaha, ary ny olona rehetra hanaraka azy, toy ny nandehanan’ ny maro tany alohany.
Everyone attends their funeral service; a huge procession of people comes to pay their last respects.
34 Endrey! ity ianareo mba mampionona ahy foana! Ary ny famalianareo anefa, raha voasana tsara, dia lainga ihany!
Why do you try to comfort me with worthless nonsense? Your answers are just a pack of lies!”
