Jeremia 48
1 Ny amin’ i Moaba. Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely: Nidiran-doza Nebo, fa rava! Mangaihay Kiriataima, fa afaka; Mangaihay Misgaba sady raiki-tahotra.
Of Moab, —Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts God of Israel, —Alas for Nebo, for it is laid waste, put to shame—captured, is Kiriathaim, put to shame is Misgab, and dismayed.
2 Tsy misy ho reharehan’ i Moaba intsony; Tao Hesbona no niheverany hampididoza aminy hoe: Andeha horavantsika tsy ho firenena izy. Ho ringana koa ianao, ry Madmena, Hanenjika anao ny sabatra.
No more, is the praise of Moab, In Heshbon, have they devised against her, calamity, Come, and let us cut her off from being a nation, —Even thou, Madmen also, shalt be silenced, After thee, shall march the sword.
3 Injay! misy feo fitarainana ao Horonaima hoe: Fandravana sy fandringanana be!
A voice of outcry, from Horonaim, —Wasting and great destruction!
4 Rava Moaba, ny madinika ao dia mamoaka fitarainana.
Moab is broken: Her little ones, have caused to be heard an outcry.
5 Fa miakatra mitomany lalandava eny amin’ ny fiakarana Lohita izy; Ary amin’ ny fidinana mankany Horonaima no andrenesana fitarainana mafy noho ny fandringanana.
For the ascent of Luhith, with weeping, one ascendeth—with weeping, —For in the descent of Horonaim, the distress of the outcry of destruction, have they heard:
6 Mandosira, vonjeo ny ainareo. Ary aoka ho tahaka ny olona mahantra any an-efitra ianareo.
Flee deliver your own lives, —Then shall the women be as a shrub in the desert.
7 Fa noho ny nitokianao tamin’ ny asanao sy ny rakitrao dia ho voasambotra koa ianao; Ary Kemosy ho lasan-ko babo, dia ny mpisorony sy ny mpanapaka rehetra.
For seeing thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, Thou too, shalt be captured, —Then shall Chemosh go forth into captivity, His priests and his princes together.
8 Ary ny mpandringana ho tonga ao amin’ ny tanàna rehetra, ka tsy hisy tanàna tsy ho afaka; Ny lohasaha koa ho simba, ary ny tany lemaka ho rava, araka izay nolazain’ i Jehovah.
And the spoiler shall enter into every city, And not, a city, shall escape, Then shall perish the vale Then be destroyed the table-land, —As Yahweh hath said.
9 Omeo elatra Moaba, fa hanidina izy ka ho lasa; Ary ho lao ny tanànanay, ka tsy hisy mponina.
Give wing to Moab, For she must, fly away; And her cities To desolation, shall be turned, With no inhabitant therein.
10 Ho voaozona anie Izay manao tsirambina foana ny asa asain’ i Jehovah atao! Eny, ho voaozona anie izay mihazona ny sabany tsy handatsa-drà!
Accursed be he that doeth the business of Yahweh carelessly; And, accursed be he that withholdeth his sword, from blood!
11 Moaba nandry fahizay hatry ny fony izy mbola kely ka niotrika tao amin’ ny faikany, fa tsy naidina nafindrafindra siny, ary tsy mbola lasan-ko babo izy; koa izany no aharetan’ ny tsirony ao aminy sy tsy iovan’ ny fofony.
Moab, hath been at ease from his youth, And settled is he upon his lees, And hath not been poured out from vessel to vessel, Nor into captivity, hath gone, —For this cause, hath his flavour stood still within him, And his scent is unchanged.
12 Koa, indro, avy ny andro hanirahako mpanohoka ho any aminy, hoy Jehovah, Izay hanohoka azy ka hahafoana ny fitoeran-divainy sady hanorotoro ny sininy.
Therefore, lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh, When I will send to him tilters and they shall tilt him, —And his vessels, shall they empty, And their jars, shall they dash in pieces.
13 Ary Moaba ho menatra noho ny amin’ i Kemosy toy ny nahamenaran’ ny taranak’ Isiraely noho ny amin’ i Betela tokiny.
Then shall Moab, be ashamed, of, Chemosh, —Just as, the sons of Israel, were ashamed of Bethel their confidence.
14 Ahoana no anaovanareo hoe: Lehilahy matanjaka sady mahery an’ ady izahay?
How can ye say, Heroes, are we? and Men of might for the war?
15 Rava Moaba, fa ny tanànany dia efa nanihina. Ary ny zatovony voafantina efa nidina ho any amin’ ny famonoana. Hoy ny Mpanjaka, Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no anarany.
Spoiled is Moab And her cities, hath he ascended, And the choice of his young men, have gone down to the slaughter, —Declareth The King, Yahweh of hosts, is his Name.
16 Efa antomotra ny loza hanjo an’ i Moaba, ary mimaona ny fahoriany.
Near is the doom of Moab, to come, —And, his calamity, hasteth greatly.
17 Mitomania azy, ianareo rehetra izay manodidina azy sy ianareo rehetra izay mahalala ny anarany! Eny, manaova hoe: Indrisy! tapaka ny tehina mafy sy ny tsorakazo tsara tarehy!
Lament ye for him—All that are round about him, and All that know his name, —Say, How is broken—The staff of strength! The rod of beauty!
18 Ry Dibona, zanakavavy mponina, midìna miala amin’ ny voninahitrao, ka mitoera ao amin’ ny tany mangentana, fa ilay mandringana an’ i Moaba dia miakatra mamely anao sady mandrava ny fiarovanao.
Come down from glory, and sit in thirst, O inhabitress daughter of Dibon; For the spoiler of Moab, hath come up against thee, He hath laid in ruins thy strongholds.
19 Ry mponina any Aroera, mijanòna eny an-dalambe, ka mitazàna, ary izay mandositra, na lehilahy na vehivavy, dia anontanio hoe: Nozoin’ inona ianareo?
Near the way, take thy stand and keep outlook, O inhabitress of Aroer: Ask—him that fleeth, and Her that hath escaped, Say, What hath happened?
20 Afa-baraka Moaba, eny, raiki-tahotra izy; Midradradradra sy mitaraina, ka ambaraonareo ao Arnona fa rava Moaba.
Confounded is Moab! For it is broken down! Howl and make outcry, —Tell ye in Arnon, That Moab is spoiled;
21 Ary ny fitsarana dia miakatra ao amin’ ny tany lemaka, dia ao Holona sy Jahaza sy Mefata
And, judgment, hath come Upon the country of the table-land, —Upon Holon, and Upon Jazer and Upon Mephaath;
22 Sy Dibona sy Nebo sy Beti-diblataima
and Upon Dibon, and Upon Nebo, and Upon Beth-diblathaim;
23 Sy Kiriataima sy Beti-gamola sy Beti-meona
and Upon Kiriathaim, and Upon Beth-gamul, and Upon Beth-meon;
24 Sy Keriota ary Bozra, eny, ny tanànan’ i Moaba rehetra, na ny lavitra na ny akaiky.
and Upon Kerioth, and Upon Bozrah, —Yea, upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far and near.
25 Voakapa ny tandrok’ i Moaba, ary tapaka koa ny sandriny, hoy Jehovah.
Cut off is the horn of Moab, Yea, his arm, is broken, —Declareth Yahweh.
26 Ataovy leony izy, fa niavonavona tamin’ i Jehovah; Moaba hihosinkosina amin’ ny loany sady mba ho tonga fihomehezana kosa.
Make ye him drunken, Because against Yahweh, hath he magnified himself; So shall, Moab, stagger, into his own vomit, And shall become a derision, even he!
27 Fa tsy efa nataonao ho fihomehezana va ny Isiraely? Moa hita fa naman’ ny mpangalatra va izy, no dia mihifikifika ianao isaky ny milaza azy?
And was it not, a derision, that Israel became to thee? And was it not among thieves, he was found? For, as often as thou didst speak of him, thou didst wag the head!
28 Ry mponina any Moaba! ilaozy ny tanàna, ka mitoera ao amin’ ny harambato, ary aoka ho tahaka ny voromailala izay manao ny akaniny erỳ am-pitan’ ny hantsana ianao.
Leave ye the cities and dwell in the cliff, Ye inhabitants of Moab; And become ye as a dove, that maketh her nest in the further-side of the fissure’s mouth.
29 Ffa renay ny fiavonavonan’ i Moaba fatra-piavonavona loatra izy dia ny fireharehany sy ny fiavonavonany sy ny fiaingitrainginy ary ny avonavon’ ny fony.
We have heard the arrogance of Moab—proud exceedingly: His loftiness and his arrogance and his majesty, and his elevation of heart!
30 Izaho mahalala ny fihoa-bavany sy ny fibedibediny foana, hoy Jehovah; Tsinontsinona ny ataony.
I know—Declareth Yahweh His passion—that’tis Unjust! His boastings, that Untrue have they made [them]!
31 Koa hidradradradra noho ny amin’ i Moaba aho; Eny, hitomany noho ny amin’ i Moaba rehetra aho, ary hitsetra noho ny amin’ ny mponina ao Kira-haresa ny olona.
For this cause over Moab, will I howl, And for all Moab, will I make outcry, —For the men of Kir-heres, must one moan!
32 Mihoatra noho ny fitomanian’ i Jazera no hitomaniako anao, ry voalobok’ i Sibma, tafita ny ranomasina ny rantsanao ary tonga hatrany amin’ ny ranomasin’ i Jazera; Ny mpandripaka dia tonga handripaka ny voankazonao masaka fahavaratra sy ny voalobokao.
Beyond the weeping of Jazer, will I weep for thee O vine of Sibmah, Thy tendrils, have gone over the sea, Unto the sea of Jazer, have they reached, Upon thy summer fruits And upon thy vintage, the spoiler, hath fallen.
33 Ary ny hafaliana sy ny faharavoravoana nesorina tamin’ ny saha nahavokatra sy tamin’ ny tany Moaba, ary nataoko tankina ny divay tamin’ ny vata fanantazana ranom-boaloboka, tsy hisy hihoby amin’ ny fanitsakitsahana; Ny fihobiana dia tsy fihobiana akory.
So shall be withdrawn gladness and exultation—From the fruitful field and From the land of Moab, —And wine from the vats, have I caused to fail, They shall not tread with shouting, The shouting shall be no shouting!
34 Ny fitarainan’ i Hesbona dia re hatrany Elale sy Jahaza. Hatrany Zoara ka hatrany Horonaima sy Eglata-selisia; Fa na dia ny ranon’ i Nimrima aza dia ho ritra koa.
From the outcry of Heshbon, Even unto Elealeh Even unto Jahaz, have they given forth their voice, From Zoar even unto Horonaim, the third Eglath, —For, even the waters of Nimrim, to utter desolation, have been turned:
35 Ary hatsahatro ao Moaba koa Izay miakatra hanatitra amin’ ny fitoerana avo sy izay mandoro ditin-kazo manitra ho an’ ny andriamaniny, hoy Jehovah.
Then will I cause to cease, from Moab, Declareth Yahweh, —him that offereth at a high-place, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
36 Ary noho izany ny foko dia mitomany manao feon-tsodina noho ny amin’ i Moaba, ary ny foko mitomany manao feon-tsodina noho ny amin’ ny mponina ao Kira-haresa. Eny, noho izany dia levona ny harena be izay nohariny.
For this cause, my heart, for Moab, like flutes, shall make plaintive sounds, Yea my heart for the men of Kir-heres! like flutes, shall make plaintive sounds, Because, the abundance he hath gotten is lost!
37 Fa mibory ny loha rehetra. Ary voaharatra ny somotra rehetra, misy tetika amin’ ny tanana rehetra sy lamba fisaonana amin’ ny valahana.
For, every head, is baldness, And every beard, clipped: Upon all hands, are gashes, And upon the loins, sackcloth
38 Eny, amin’ ny tampon-trano rehetra any Moaba sy eny an-kalalahana dia misy fisaonana avokoa; Satria torotoroiko toy ny fanaka tsy mahafinaritra intsony Moaba, hoy Jehovah.
Upon all the housetops of Moab And in her broadways, it is all lamentation, —For I have broken Moab—Like a vessel wherein is no pleasure Declareth Yahweh.
39 Indrisy! raiki-tahotra izy! Midradradradrà! Indrisy! efa miamboho Moaba, mangaihay Izy, ka dia tonga fihomehezana sy fampitahorana ho an’ izay rehetra manodidina azy.
How it is broken down! They have howled, How hath Moab turned the back, for shame, —So shall Moab become a derision and a terror to all round about him.
40 Fa izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Indro, hanidina toy ny voromahery izy ka hamelatra ny elany hipaoka an’ i Moaba.
For, thus, saith Yahweh, Lo! as an eagle, shall one dart along, —And shall spread out his wings towards Moab.
41 Afaka ny tanàna, ka azo ny batery fiarovana, ary amin’ izany andro izany ny fon’ ny lehilahy maherin’ i Moaba dia ho tahaka ny fon’ ny vehivavy mihetsi-jaza.
Captured is Kerioth, And the fortresses, are seized, —Then shall the heart of the heroes of Moab become in that day, As the heart of a woman in her pains.
42 Ary horavana tsy ho firenena intsony Moaba. Satria niavonavona tamin’ i Jehovah izy.
Then shall, Moab, be destroyed from being a people, —Because against Yahweh, hath he magnified himself.
43 Tahotra sy lavaka ary fandrika no mahazo anao, ry mponina any Moaba, hoy Jehovah.
Terror and pit and snare are upon thee O inhabitant of Moab Declareth Yahweh:
44 Izay mandositra ny tahotra dia ho latsaka any an-davaka; Ary izay miakatra avy any an-davaka dia ho voan’ ny fandrika; Fa hataoko tonga amin’ i Moaba ny taona hamaliana azy, hoy Jehovah.
He that fleeth from the face of the terror, Shall fall into the pit, And, he that getteth up out of the pit, Shall be captured by the snare, —For I will bring against her—against Moab, The year of their visitation, Declareth Yahweh.
45 Ao amin’ ny alokalok’ i Hesbona no ijanonan’ ny mpandositra, satria lany hery ireny; Kanjo misy afo mivoaka avy any Hesbona, ary lelafo avy any Sihona, ka mandevona ny sisin’ i Moaba sy ny tampon-dohan’ ny mpitabataba.
In the shadow of Heshbon, stand strengthless, the fugitives, —For, a fire, hath gone forth out of Heshbon And shall flame out of the midst of Sihon, And shall devour the beard of Moab, And the crown of the head of the proudly tumultuous.
46 Idiran-doza ianao, ry Moaba! Ringana ny olon’ i Kemosy! Fa ho babo ny zanakao-lahy, ary ho sambotra ny zanakao-vavy.
Woe to thee Moab! Lost are the people of Chemosh, —For thy sons have been taken, into captivity, And thy daughters into captivity.
47 Nefa mbola hampodiko avy amin’ ny fahababoana ihany Moaba any am-parany, hoy Jehovah. Hatreto ny amin’ ny fitsarana an’ i Moaba.
Yet will I bring back the captivity of Moab, In the afterpart of the days, Declareth Yahweh, Thus far, is the sentence of Moab.
