< Jeremia 43 >
1 Ary rehefa tapitra voalazan’ i Jeremia tamin’ ny vahoaka rehetra izany teny rehetra avy tamin’ i Jehovah Andriamaniny izany, izay nanirahan’ i Jehovah Andriamanitra azy holazaina aminy,
[So] I finished telling to the people that message from Yahweh our God.
2 dia niteny Azaria, zanak’ i Hosaia, sy Johanana, zanak’ i Karea, mbamin’ ny olona mpirehareha rehetra ka niteny tamin’ i Jeremia hoe: Mandainga ianao; fa tsy naniraka anao Jehovah Andriamanitsika hilaza hoe: Aza mandeha hivahiny any Egypta;
But then Johanan and Azariah and some other insolent/arrogant men said to me, “You are lying! Yahweh our God has not told [us] that we should not go to Egypt!
3 fa Baroka, zanak’ i Neria, no nanome fo anao hamely anay mba hanolotra anay ho eo an-tànan’ ny Kaldeana hahafaty anay sy hahalasa anay ho babo any Babylona.
[We think that] Baruch has urged/persuaded you to say this, in order that [if we stay here], the soldiers from Babylonia will seize us and kill us or take us to Babylonia.”
4 Ary Johanana, zanak’ i Karea, sy ny mpifehy ny miaramila rehetra ary ny vahoaka rehetra dia tsy nihaino ny feon’ i Jehovah ny amin’ ny honenany ao amin’ ny tanin’ ny Joda.
So Johanan and the other leaders of the [Israeli] soldiers and [many of] [HYP] the other people [who were there] refused to obey Yahweh’s command to stay in Judah.
5 Fa Johanana, zanak’ i Karea, sy ny mpifehy ny miaramila rehetra dia nitondra ny sisa rehetra tamin’ ny Joda, izay niverina avy tany amin’ ny firenena rehetra nandroahana azy honina ao amin’ ny tanin’ ny Joda,
Johanan and all the [other] leaders gathered together all the people who had returned from the other countries to which they had been scattered.
6 dia ny lehilahy sy ny zaza amim-behivavy sy ny vehivavy zanak’ andriana ary ny olona rehetra izay navelan’ i Nebozaradana, lehiben’ ny mpiambina, tao amin’ i Gedalia, zanak’ i Ahikama, zanak’ i Safana, sy tao amin’ i Jeremia mpaminany sy Baroka, zanak’ i Neria
[They included] men, women, children, the king’s daughters, and all those whom Nebuzaradan had left with Gedaliah, and they also took Baruch and me.
7 ka dia nankany amin’ ny tany Egypta izy ireny, fa tsy nihaino ny feon’ i Jehovah, ary dia tonga hatrany Tapanesa.
They refused to obey Yahweh, and they took us all [to Egypt], as far as Tahpenes [city].
8 Dia tonga tamin’ i Jeremia tao Tapanesa ny tenin’ i Jehovah hoe:
[While we were] at Tahpenes, Yahweh gave me another message. He said,
9 Mitondrà vato lehibe eny an-tananao, ka afeno ao amin’ ny feta ao amin’ ny gorodona taila, izay eo akaikin’ ny vavahady amin’ ny tranon’ i Farao ao Tapanesa, eo imason’ ny lehilahy amin’ ny Joda,
“While the people of Judah are watching you, take some large rocks and bury them under the brick pavement at the entrance to the king’s palace there at Tahpenes.
10 ka lazao aminy hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely: Indro Aho haniraka haka an’ i Nebokadnezara, mpanjakan’ i Babylona, mpanompoko, ka haoriko amin’ ireto vato nafeniko ireto ny seza fiandrianany; ary hamelatra ny lambany tsara tarehy hatao alokaloka eo amboniny izy.
Then say to the people of Judah, ‘This is what the Commander of the armies of angels, the God whom [you] Israelis [say you belong to], says: “I will summon Nebuchadnezzar the King of Babylon, who does my work, to come [with his army] to Egypt. I will set up his throne over these stones that I told Jeremiah to bury. And Nebuchadnezzar will set up his tent there [to show that he has become] the King [of Egypt].
11 Eny, ho avy izy hamely ny tany Egypta, ka izay ho amin’ ny areti-mandringana dia ho amin’ ny areti-mandringana, ary izay ho amin’ ny fahababoana dia ho amin’ ny fahababoana, ary izay ho amin’ ny sabatra dia ho amin’ ny sabatra.
When his [army] comes, they will attack Egypt. Then those will die who [I have determined] must die, those who [I have determined] must be captured will be captured, and those who [I have determined] must be killed by swords will be killed by swords.
12 Ary handrehitra afo ao amin’ ny tranon’ ny andriamanitr’ i Egypta Aho, ka dia hodorany sy hobaboiny ireo, ary hitafy ny tany Egypta izy toy ny fitafin’ ny mpiandry ondry ny lambany; ary hiala any amin’ ny fiadanana izy.
Nebuchadnezzar’s [soldiers] will burn down the temples of the gods of Egypt. [But before they burn the temples], they will take away their idols [as souvenirs]. His [troops] will clean Egypt like a shepherd cleans lice from his cloak. They will tear down the sacred pillars that are in the temple of their sun god. And then Nebuchadnezzar’s [troops] will leave there, without having been harmed.”’”
13 Ary hotorotoroiny ny tsangam-baton-tsampy ao Beti-semesy, izay any amin’ ny tany Egypta; ary hodorany amin’ ny afo ny tranon’ ny andriamanitr’ i Egypta.
