< Jeremia 24 >

1 Jehovah naneho tamiko, ka, indreo, nisy aviavy roa sobiky voapetraka teo anoloan’ ny tempolin’ i Jehovah, taorian’ ny nitondran’ i Nebokadnezara, mpanjakan’ i Babylona, an’ i Jekonia, zanak’ i Joiakima, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, sy ny mpanapaka ny Joda mbamin’ ny mahay tao-zavatra sy ny mpanefy vy izay tany Jerosalema, ho babo ho any Babylona.
[The army of] King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon captured Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, and his officials, and all his skilled workers [DOU] and took them to Babylon. After that happened, Yahweh gave me a vision. [In the vision] I saw two baskets of figs that had been placed in front of the temple.
2 Ny sobiky iray dia nisy aviavy tsara dia tsara, dia toy ny aviavy mialin-taona; ary ny sobiky anankiray kosa dia nisy aviavy ratsy dia ratsy, izay tsy azo hanina noho ny haratsiny.
One basket was full of good figs, like the kind that ripen first. The other basket was filled with figs that were bad/rotten, with the result that they could not be eaten.
3 Dia hoy Jehovah tamiko: Inona no hitanao, ry Jeremia? Ary hoy izaho: Aviavy; koa ny tsara moa dia tsara tokoa, ary ny ratsy kosa dia ratsy tokoa ka tsy azo hanina noho ny haratsiny.
Then Yahweh said to me, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I replied, “[I see some] figs. Some are very good ones, but some are very bad, with the result that no one would eat them.”
4 Ary tonga tamiko indray ny tenin’ i Jehovah nanao hoe:
Then Yahweh gave me this message:
5 Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely: Tahaka ireto aviavy tsara ireto no fijeriko ny Joda voababo mba hanasoavako azy, dia ireo noroahiko niala tamin’ ity tany ity ho any amin’ ny tanin’ ny Kaldeana.
“This is what [I], Yahweh, the God whom the Israeli people [say that they worship], say: ‘The good figs represent [SIM] the people of Judah whom I exiled to Babylonia.
6 Fa hojeren’ ny masoko izy mba hanasoavako azy ka hampodiko ho amin’ ity tany ity; ary haoriko izy, ka tsy horavako; ary hamboleko izy, fa tsy hongotako.
I [SYN] will (watch over/take care of) them well, and [some day] I will bring them back here [to Judah]. I will establish them and cause them to be strong. I will cause them to be prosperous [MET], and I will not exile them [again].
7 Ary homeko fo hahalalany Ahy ho Jehovah izy; dia ho oloko izy, ary Izaho kosa ho Andriamaniny; fa hiverina amiko amin’ ny fony rehetra izy.
I will enable them to desire to know [IDM] that I am Yahweh. They will be my people, and I will be their God, because they will return to me sincerely.’
8 Ary ny amin’ ny aviavy ratsy izay tsy azo hanina kosa noho ny haratsiny, dia izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Toy izany no hanolorako an’ i Zedekia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, sy ny mpanapaka ary izay sisa any Jerosalema, dia izay mbola sisa amin’ ity tany ity sy izay mitoetra any amin’ ny tany Egypta,
But [I], Yahweh, [also] say, ‘The bad figs represent [SIM] Zedekiah, the king of Judah, and his officials, and all the [other] people who remain in Jerusalem, and those who have gone to Egypt. I will do to them like people do to rotten figs.
9 eny, hatolotro ho mpanjenjena sy fiharan-doza any amin’ ny fanjakana rehetra ambonin’ ny tany izy, ho fandatsa sy ohabolana sy ambentinteny ary fanozonana any amin’ ny tany rehetra izay handroahako azy.
I will [get rid of them], with the result that people in every nation on the earth will be horrified, and will hate them because they are evil people. Wherever I scatter them, people will make fun of them, and say that they are disgraced, and ridicule them, and curse them.
10 Ary hampameleziko azy ny sabatra sy ny mosary ary ny areti-mandringana ambara-pahalany ritrany tsy ho amin’ ny tany izay nomeko azy sy ny razany.
And I will cause them to experience wars and famines and diseases, until they have disappeared from this land which I gave to them and to their ancestors.’”
