< Isaia 9 >
1 Fa tsy hanjombona mandrakariva ilay efa nozoim-pahoriana. Tamin’ ny taloha dia nataony tsinontsinona ny tany Zebolona sy ny tany Naftaly; Fa amin’ ny aoriana kosa dia homeny voninahitra ny lalana eo amoron-dranomasina, any an-dafin’ i Jordana, Dia Galilia, tanin’ ny jentilisa.
As the former time made light The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, So the latter hath honoured the way of the sea, Beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
2 Ny olona izay mandeha amin’ ny maizina dia mahita mazava lehibe; Izay mitoetra amin’ ny tany aloky ny fahafatesana no iposahan’ ny mazava.
The people who are walking in darkness Have seen a great light, Dwellers in a land of death-shade, Light hath shone upon them.
3 Hamaroinao ity firenena ity, Ary ampitomboinao ny hafaliany; Mifaly eo anatrehanao izy tahaka ny hafaliana amin’ ny fararano, ary tahaka ny fifalin’ ny olona, raha mizara babo.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, Thou hast made great its joy, They have joyed before Thee as the joy in harvest, As [men] rejoice in their apportioning spoil.
4 Fa ny bao fitondran-entany sy ny tsorakazo nikapohana ny lamosiny; Izay tsorakazon’ ny mpampiasa azy, Dia tapahinao tahaka ny tamin’ ny andro namelezana ny Midiana.
Because the yoke of its burden, And the staff of its shoulder, the rod of its exactor, Thou hast broken as [in] the day of Midian.
5 Fa ny kiraron’ izay mitrevatreva fandeha eo amin’ ny fihorakorahan’ ny ady sy ny fitafiana mihosindra dia samy hodoroana, eny, ho kitay hatohoka amin’ ny afo izany.
For every battle of a warrior [is] with rushing, and raiment rolled in blood, And it hath been for burning — fuel of fire.
6 Fa Zaza no teraka ho antsika, Zazalahy no omena antsika; Ary ny fanapahana dia eo an-tsorony, ary ny anarany atao hoe Mahagaga, Mpanolo-tsaina, Andriamanitra Mahery, Rain’ ny mandrakizay Andrian’ ny fiadanana.
For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us, And the princely power is on his shoulder, And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
7 Ny handrosoan’ ny fanapahana sy ny fiadanana dia tsy hanam-pahataperana Eo amin’ ny seza fiandrianan’ i Davida sy ny fanjakany, mba hampiorenana sy hampitoerana azy amin’ ny rariny sy ny hitsiny hatramin’ izao ka ho mandrakizay; ny fahasaro-piaron’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no hahatanteraka izany.
To the increase of the princely power, And of peace, there is no end, On the throne of David, and on his kingdom, To establish it, and to support it, In judgment and in righteousness, Henceforth, even unto the age, The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts doth this.
8 Ny Tompo mandefa teny ho an’ i Jakoba, ka mihatra amin’ ny Isiraely izany.
A word hath the Lord sent into Jacob, And it hath fallen in Israel.
9 Ary ho fantatr’ izy iray firenena izany, dia Efraima sy ny mponina any Samaria, izay miteny amin’ ny fiavonavonany sy ny fireharehan’ ny fony manao hoe:
And the people have known — all of it, Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, In pride and in greatness of heart, saying,
10 Biriky no efa nirodana, fa vato voapaika kosa no harafitsika; Aviavy no voakapa, fa sedera kosa no hasolontsika azy.
'Bricks have fallen, and hewn work we build, Sycamores have been cut down, and cedars we renew.'
11 Ary Jehovah manandratra ny rafilahin-dRezina hihoatra azy Ary mamporisika ny fahavalony,
And Jehovah setteth the adversaries of Rezin on high above him, And his enemies he joineth together,
12 Dia ny Syriana avy any atsinanana sy ny Filistina avy any andrefana; Ary misanasana vava mandrapaka ny Isiraely ireo. Kanefa, na dia izany rehetra izany aza, dia tsy mbola afaka ihany ny fahatezerany, Fa mbola mihinjitra ihany ny tanany.
Aram from before, and Philistia from behind, And they devour Israel with the whole mouth. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.
13 Fa ny olona tsy miverina amin’ Izay mamely azy, Eny, Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, tsy mba tadiaviny.
And the people hath not turned back unto Him who is smiting it, And Jehovah of Hosts they have not sought.
14 Ka dia nofongoran’ i Jehovah amin’ ny Isiraely indray andro monja Ny loha sy ny rambo, ny sampan-drofia sy ny zozoro
And Jehovah cutteth off from Israel head and tail, Branch and reed — the same day,
15 (Ny loholona sy ny manan-kaja no loha, ary ny mpaminany izay mampianatra lainga no rambo);
Elder, and accepted of face, he [is] the head, Prophet, teacher of falsehood, he [is] the tail.
16 Fa ny mpitarika ity firenena ity no tonga mpampivily azy, Ary izay tarihiny dia voatelina.
And the eulogists of this people are causing to err, And its eulogised ones are consumed.
17 Ary noho izany dia tsy mahafaly an’ i Jehovah ny zatovony, ary ny kamboty sy ny mpitondratena ao aminy dia tsy iantrany; Fa samy mpihatsaravelatsihy sy mpanao ratsy izy, ary ny vava rehetra mamoaka teny fahadalana. Kanefa, na dia izany rehetra izany aza, dia tsy mbola afaka ihany ny fahatezerany, Fa mbola mihinjitra ihany ny tànany.
Therefore, over its young men the Lord rejoiceth not, And its orphans, and its widows He pitieth not, For every one [is] profane, and an evil doer, And every mouth is speaking folly. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.
18 Fa ny faharatsiana mandoro tahaka ny afo, Mandevona ny tsilo sy ny hery ary mampirehitra ny ala mikirindro ka mitambolimbolina tahaka ny setroka misavoana.
For burned as a fire hath wickedness, Brier and thorn it devoureth, And it kindleth in thickets of the forest, And they lift themselves up, an exaltation of smoke!
19 Noho ny fahatezeran’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, dia efa maintin’ ny afo ny tany, ary ny olona dia tahaka ny kitay atohoka amin’ ny afo; Tsy misy olona miantra ny rahalahiny
In the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts Hath the land been consumed, And the people is as fuel of fire; A man on his brother hath no pity,
20 Ary mandripaka eny ankavanana izy nefa noana ihany; Ary mandany eny an-kavia izy, nefa tsy voky ihany; Samy mihinana ny nofon-tsandriny avy izy rehetra,
And cutteth down on the right, and hath been hungry, And he devoureth on the left, And they have not been satisfied, Each the flesh of his own arm they devour.
21 Eny, Manase mihinana an’ i Efraima, ary Efraima kosa mihinana an’ i Manase, Ary izy roa tonta dia miara-mamely an’ i Joda. Kanefa, na dia izany rehetra izany aza, dia tsy mbola afaka ihany ny fahatezerany, Fa mbola mihinjitra ihany ny tànany.
Manasseh — Ephraim, and Ephraim — Manasseh, Together they [are] against Judah, With all this not turned back hath His anger. And still His hand is stretched out!
