Isaia 48
1 Mihainoa, ry taranak’ i Jakoba, dia ianareo izay antsoina amin’ ny anaran’ Isiraely sy avy amin’ ny loharanon’ i Joda, ianareo izay mianiana amin’ ny anaran’ i Jehovah ary mankalaza ny anaran’ Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, kanefa tsy araka ny marina, na araka ny hitsiny;
Hear ye this—O house of Jacob, Ye who call yourselves by the name of Israel, Yea from the waters of Judah, came they forth, —Who swear by the name of Yahweh, And, by the God of Israel, call to remembrance—Not in truth, nor in righteousness;
2 Fa milaza ny tenany ho avy amin’ ny tanana masìna izy ka miankina amin’ Andriamanitry ny Isiraely; Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no anarany.
For of the holy city, do they call themselves, And on the God of Israel, do they stay themselves, —Yahweh of hosts, is his name.
3 Ny zavatra taloha dia efa voalazako hatramin’ ny fahiny, ary naloaky ny vavako izany sady nambarako; Tampoka no nanaovako izany, ary tonga izany.
Things in advance, of old, I declared, Yea out of mine own mouth, came they forth, that I might let them be known, —Suddenly, I wrought and they came to pass.
4 Satria fantatro fa maditra ianao, ka ozaby ny hatokao, ary varahina ny handrinao,
Because I knew that—Obstinate, thou wast, —And, a sinew of iron, was thy neck, And thy brow, brazen,
5 Dia nambarako taminao hatramin’ ny fahiny izany, eny, fony tsy mbola tonga aza izany, dia efa nambarako taminao rahateo, fandrao hataonao hoe: Ny sampiko no nanao izany, ary ny sarin-javatra voasokitra sy ny sarin-javatra an-idina no nandidy izany.
therefore told I thee—in time past, Ere yet it came, I let thee hear, —Lest thou shouldest say Mine idol wrought them, Yea, my carved image and my molten image, commanded them!
6 Efa renao, ka dia jereo izany rehetra izany, moa ianareo tsy hanambara izany va? Mampandre anao zava-baovao kosa Aho hatramin’ izao, dia zavatra miafina izay tsy fantatrao.
Thou hast heard—see it whole, And will, ye, not tell? I have let thee hear new things—from the present time, Even secrets which ye knew not.
7 Vao izao no namoronana azy, fa tsy hatramin’ ny fahiny, ary tsy mbola nandre azy ianao talohan’ ny andro anio, fandrao ianao hanao hoe: Indro, ny efa fantatro ihany izany.
Now, are they created, and not in time past, And, before to-day, thou hadst not heard of them, —Lest thou shouldest say, Lo! I knew them!
8 Fa tsy nandre na nahalala ianao; Eny, hatramin’ ny fahiny aza no tsy mbola nisokatra ny sofinao; fa fantatro fa tena mpivadika ianao sady natao hoe mpiodina hatrany an-kibo.
Nay! thou hadst not heard, Nay! thou hadst not known, Nay! in time past, thine ear, was not opened, —For I knew that thou, wouldst be treacherous, Yea a transgressor from birth, hast thou been called.
9 Noho ny anarako dia ononiko ny fahatezerako, ary mba hiderana ahy dia manindry fo aminao Aho, mba tsy hamongorana anao.
For the sake of mine own Name, will I defer mine anger, And for my praise, will I restrain myself towards thee, —So as not to cut thee off.
10 Indro, nodioviko ianao, nefa tsy toy ny volafotsy; Efa nizaha toetra anao tao amin’ ny memy fahoriana Aho.
Lo! I have refined thee, but not as silver, —I have tested thee, in a smelting-pot of affliction.
11 Noho ny tenako, eny, noho ny tenako ihany no anaovako izany; indrisy, lotoina ny anarako! Ary ny voninahitro tsy homeko ny hafa.
For mine own sake—for mine own sake, will I effectually work For how should it be profaned? And, my glory—to another, will I not give.
12 Mihainoa Ahy, ry Jakoba, sy y Isiraely izay nantsoiko: Tsy miova Aho; Izaho no voalohany, ary Izaho koa no farany.
Hearken unto me O Jacob, And Israel, my called one, —I, am, the Same I, the first, yea, I, the last:
13 Eny, ny tanako no nanorina ny fanambanin’ ny tany, ary ny tanako ankavanana no namelatra ny lanitra; Raha antsoiko ireo, dia indray miseho avokoa.
Surely, mine own hand, founded the earth, And, my right hand, stretched out the heavens, —While I was calling unto them, they stood forth, at once
14 Mivoria ianareo rehetra, ka mihainoa: Iza moa amin’ ireny no mba efa nanambara izany; ilay tian’ i Jehovah no hahefa ny sitrapony amin’ i Babylona ary ny sandriny ho amin’ ny Kaldeana.
Assemble yourselves—all of you and hear, Who among them, hath told these things? he whom Yahweh loveth, will execute—His pleasure, on Babylon, And his stroke on the Chaldeans.
15 Izaho dia Izaho ihany no miteny sady miantso azy, nitondra azy Aho, ka hambinina ny lalany.
I—I, have spoken, Yea I have called him, —I have brought him in, and he shall make prosperous his way.
16 Manatona Ahy ianareo, ka mihainoa; hatramin’ ny taloha no efa tsy nitenenako tamin’ ny mangingina, hatry ny fony vao nisian’ ireo dia teo Aho, ary ankehitriny Jehovah Tompo no naniraka Ahy sy ny Fanahiny.
Draw ye near unto me—hear ye this, Not in advance in secret, have I spoken, From the very time it cometh into being, there, am I, —And, now, My Lord Yahweh hath sent me and his spirit.
17 Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Mpanavotra anao, dia ny Iray Masin’ ny Isiraely: Izaho, Jehovah Andriamanitrao, no nampianatra anao hahita soa sady mitarika anao amin’ ny lalana tokony halehanao.
Thus saith Yahweh—Thy Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel, —I—Yahweh, am thy God, Teaching thee to profit, Guiding thee in the way thou shouldest go.
18 Toy izay anie ianao mba nihaino ny didiko! Dia ho tonga tahaka ny ony ny fiadananao, ary ho tahaka ny onjan-dranomasina ny fahamarinanao,
Oh! that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments, —Then had been, like a river, thy prosperity, And, thy righteousness, like the waves of the sea:
19 Ary ho tahaka ny fasika ny taranakao, ary ny aloaky ny kibonao ho tahaka ny sombim-pasika; Ny anarany tsy ho tapaka na ho foana eo anatrehako.
Then had been, like the sand, thy seed, And, the offspring of thy body, like the grains thereof, —Neither cut off nor destroyed had been his name from before me.
20 Mivoaha hiala any Babylona; miezaha avy any amin’ ny Kaldeana; torio amin’ ny feo mahafaly, ary ambarao, ka aelezo hatrany amin’ ny faran’ ny tany, lazao hoe: Jehovah efa nanavotra an’ i Jakoba mpanompony.
Come ye forth out of Babylon, Flee from among the Chaldeans, With triumphant voice, tell ye—let this be heard, Let it go forth as far as the end of the earth, —Say ye—Yahweh hath redeemed his servant Jacob!
21 Ary tsy nangetaheta ireo tamin’ ny nitondrany azy tany an-efitra; Nampiboiboika rano ho azy avy tamin’ ny vatolampy Izy, Eny, nampitresaka ny vatolampy Izy, ka dia nigororoana ny rano.
And they thirsted not, when, through dry places, he led them, Waters out of the rock, caused he to flow out to them, —Yea be cleft a rock and, there gushed out waters:
22 Tsy misy fiadanana ho an’ ny ratsy fanahy, hoy Jehovah.
No well-being, saith Yahweh to the lawless,
